So you know I am entitled to have my opinion and while it does not match yours why drag it to such lengths? I am again going to say, I never said it was okay to exploit other people, but also sometimes people are not paid that much for just being an extra since they barely have screen time or lines. It does not mean that they are being exploited, what if they are just happy to help and be a part of the project? I am not saying it is okay to exploit people because it is not, but the wages are not that high either. I just think it's kinda funny that using AI to generate imagery is not exploiting the artists whose work were stolen? Because it is aswell just how people working for free is exploiting them. And I never said that people should work for free, I said to offer people meals and small pays since the work is not that big, and if it is then of course they should be compensated accordingly. I never said that exploitation was okay, don't put words into my mouth.

When did I say yes to exploitation? I didn't? I don't like generative AI, since it is literally stolen work of other people mind you WHO WERE NOT PAID FOR THEIR WORK. While it may create "new things" it is trained off of STOLEN INTELLECTUAL PROPETY and is literally bad for the environment. So kind of ironic to say it's "a strong tool to avoid plagarism" while it is literally just that. I never said to exploit other people, just work with the budget. I don't know why you guys are defending the use of AI when people did not use it before but now it is "necessary" to cut costs? Could have re-used things and try to work with the budget as best as you can. In my country it is normal to compensate extras with a meal if budget is cheap or just 20 bucks since I think a lot of these scenes could have been shot pretty quick.

Here it is perfectly normal to compensate an extra with a meal. Of course they would probably have to pay for your injuries if something happened, but I'm sure they are somewhat prepared for this. I don't think they would have to pay for you to travel to the set, you just need to be a local. Costumes and props are of course on the team, and by editing/filming they may be able to make it look fuller than it actually is. Using stolen ip is crazy.

I'm pretty sure extras for scenes are not that expensive, maybe a meal if the budget is cheap. How do u think they did it before all the ai? 😭😭😭 That's just a cheap excuse imo. I would've used maybe stock footage (of course now it's also filled with ai slop), re-used scenes and if you already had some animators and illustrators why not a little more, cut something else and re-use stuff. It is not that hard to not use generative AI...??? Personally I think all AI imagery is slop, and yeah it is very sad that nowadays it seems so "normalized" even in creative projects when all you do with AI is just type a prompt, that's not being creative.

Even if it's not used at all times, just having it is too much for me. We clearly do not have the same stance on AI, and it bothers me more than it does you. I do not want AI when actual people with talent and creativity could be paid, and as someone who is myself an artist hurts me more. And the thing is, yeah I guessed that the budget isn't probably huge judging by the zip tied trees but they couldn't use anything else? when it's mostly 5 second clips. Anything but AI, even a crappier low budget film is better. I feel quite offended when such beautiful artistry is sabotaged by low quality AI slop. I do not think it's right for you to use stolen propety just so you can cut costs. I will fight against the use of generative ai, it hurts us more than it will ever do us good. ---- I have personally not seen a chinese drama with this kind of slop before, and probably won't be if one appears. But I only watch queer series, so I don't think it will bother me much.

The story is good, I love wuxia bl! The only complaint I have is the usage of ai generated video clips, was it really necessary? The story is so good and the aesthetics are amazing. This would have been a 10 for me if it weren't for the ai, this sadly lowers my overall rating. Wish I could say that this is one of my favourite bls but the ai just doesn't cut it for me. I still do love the story and the actors.
