It seems that aside from Seo Ji Hye and Lee Sang Woo, even Jung Yoo Min was not aware that Red Balloon was about "Infidelity' and that her role will be an Adulterer. All three just put their faith in writer Moon Young Nam
Red Balloon' Jung Yoo-min "I didn't know I would be having an affair" I didn't know it would turn out like this. I couldn't predict or anticipate. Maybe not everyone expected it,” she confessed. s it is an adulterous character, Jung Yoo-min said, "I really thought hard to be persuasive." He said, “There were times when I didn’t understand the situation myself, and I thought a lot about ‘how can I persuade, understand, and empathize when I don’t understand myself?’ So even though I had to come home after filming and go out again after a little sleep, I couldn't sleep while thinking about the next script,” she explained But in the end, Jo Eun-san and Jin-cheol decide to break up. When Jung Yoo-min asked what he thought would happen to Jo Eun-san after breaking up with Jin-cheol, he said, “There was an ending I wanted. She lives her life freely while doing volunteer work outside, then meets a similar man at a travel destination.
Interview with Actress Hong Soo Hyun who played Bada
Why did you choose 'Red Balloon'? "The script was fun and I was looking forward to the next episode. I was immersed in the emotions and trembled with the script itself. I lost my strength. The script itself had that kind of magic."
How satisfied are you with the ending? "I made the punishment hot until the middle of the 20th episode, and it ended with forgiveness in the second half. Bada said, 'I tried everything with mom(on the drama), but I don't feel comfortable. Even if I do revenge, I don't like it..
How did you work with your partners Seo Ji-hye and Lee Sang-woo? "This was our first collaboration, but we became close after the dancing scene. We continued reading the script. We became close naturally."
What is the secret to the rising ratings? "I think that's the first reason because the Actors act so passionately and the script is interesting. Didn't it go up even more in the second half? I think viewers might have watched it more with anticipation that they wanted to watch BD and EK

The fact SJH's portrayal as EK solicited reactions means she delivered. (Same with HSH. She also delivered as BD)

The Cast On Why they Decided to Appear in "Red Balloon"
Seo Ji Hye: Although her character’s dramatic affair is such a key part of the drama, Seo Ji Hye revealed that she agreed to the role without knowing about it. While she had a lot of trust in the drama’s writer Moon Young Nam, the actress was also intrigued by the hidden ambitions detailed in the story. Seo Ji Hye explained, “In the character description, it said that she had a one-sided crush on her friend’s husband in the past, but it didn’t say anything about her being the subject of an affair. That’s why there was fun in receiving the scripts while thinking, ‘what kind of story will unfold?’ I think all the actors felt like that. Even while filming, it was a fascinating experience.”
She then revealed that the drama’s ending was similar to her own expectations, sharing, “Even if it were me, I don’t think I would’ve been able to pick one person. She had a hope that she would become a cool woman who lives independently. I want to tell Eun Kang, ‘Please love yourself.’ I always thought that.”
Hong Soo Hyun: I fell in love with the script as reading the lines and passages of it made it feel like I was watching a drama production. I really couldn’t wait to watch it and as an actress, I really wanted to “meet” Han Ba Da as soon as possible. Above all, I chose to be a part of this production without even hesitating for a second because the writer of it was Moon Young Nam and the director Jin Hyoung Wook. I am gladly working with both of them whom I’ve always wanted to work with.
Lee Sang Woo: As a matter of fact, my decision was made even before I read the script. The director was the first person to give me an opportunity to be part of a one-act play, and the writer was like a benefactor to me who taught me about my passion for acting 16 years ago, through the drama First Wives’ Club. So I could easily make the decision to be part [of the drama] and was filled with joy that I could work with the writer again even before I read the script.
Lee Sung Jae: It was interesting watching the story about this combination of unique characters. Also, it was pleasing how my character, Ji Nam Cheol, had a different personality from all of the other characters I have played so far. Hence I wanted to take on this challenge.
What was the most important part while playing 'Ji Nam-cheol'? Since each line was detailed enough to show Jin's personality and emotions right away, I tried to express the feeling of the script as it is.
How did you work with many senior and junior actors such as Seo Ji-hye, Lee Sang-woo, Jung Yoo-min, Kim Hye-sun, Yoon Ju-sang, and Yoon Mi-ra? Also, actor Jung Yoo-min, who played Eunsan, with whom I filmed many scenes, seems to have played her role very well, so I want to praise her as a co-star.
How do you think 'Red Balloon' and 'Ji Nam-chul' will be remembered by Lee Seong-jae in the future? Red Balloon' and 'Ji Nam-cheol' will be remembered as works and characters that leave a lasting impression on me. I feel nostalgic for no reason, and there are many memories accumulated while filming, so I think I will keep thinking about it.
Ji Nam-cheol' looks like the head of an ordinary family, but in fact, he is a character with many pains and stories about his unknown. You are a more salty character because you have not been able to fully enjoy your life from childhood until now. I acted 100% completely faithful to the script. Since each line was detailed enough to show Jin's personality and emotions right away, I tried to express the feeling of the script as it is.
What is the most memorable scene or line? The parting scene with Eunsan in episode 15 is the most memorable. It was a scene where she was sad while hiding behind her pillar and covering her mouth, but in fact, there is a hidden behind the scene. I covered her mouth to stop her coughing after running behind her pillar, but the coughing part didn't come out, so people who watched the drama thought I just blocked it (laughs) Also, there was a scene where Eunsan dances a mambo in front of her. reminds me For this scene, she practiced the mambo dance separately at home, which was difficult for her as she had to dance with a sad face on.
In the play, Jung Yoo-min plays Jo Eun-san, the younger sister of Jo Eun-gang (Seo Ji-hye) and an affair with Jin-cheol (Lee Seong-jae). Wouldn't the role of having an affair feel burdensome? Jung Yoo-min said, "I made an effort to clearly express Eunsan's bold side. I tried to find a reason that I could overcome everything, including the age difference, and persuaded him. Even if I curse, I tried to show that I can sympathize even a little. I focused on love. There was only love that understood Eunsan's behavior. Aside from that, isn't it difficult in many ways?"
She also shared his impressions with writer Moon Young-nam. Jung Yoo-min said, "She's a really great person. I thought she was a person who poured out everything perfectly, and I felt that he really thought about the script in decimal units from 1. That's why the actors played an absolute role that couldn't be lazy and couldn't let go of tension. I think he made me think a lot about the attitude and mindset of working on a project, and the effort and skills that go along with it.”
Regarding the differing opinions on the ending, Jung Yoo-min said, "First of all, I tried to read the script faithfully. I was so immersed in the play that I followed it until episode 20. There was a part that I could sympathize with and understand from the human side. I think it could be different depending on what point of view and where the focus is placed. I think the writer also wrote the last episode with that in mind."
personally I hope Ji Hye, doesn't pick this role again sure she showcased a range of emotions mostly sad but seeing…
SJH accepted the script even not knowing what the script was because she wanted to work with Moon Young Nam. Without knowing the story, MYN promised her she will be able to show different emotions on her role.
