What on earth was this? An abridged version of 50 shades of grey? The characters Hiroto and Risa.. good heavens!…
Came here for this. >.< 100% agree. A chaste Japanese 50 shades.
At least the female character in 50 had a backbone.
This was a painful reminder of how much exaggeratedly pure/kawaii-acting/non-threatening girls are lauded in Japanese culture.

Where are the dramas that give you feels for days?
Where are the dramas that make you care (deeply!) about every supporting character in addition to the main characters?
Where are the dramas that have you craving the next episode so badly that you watch the new episodes raw?
In my mind; they seemed to disappear around a year ago.

There was a lot of talk at the time about dramas changing the way they were produced. Shifting into more pre-produced shows and more relaxed shooting schedules. To give the people involved in making them a more humane schedule to work with.
I'm 100% for that. Even only getting 1 episode a week, if that's what it takes to enable people to not work themselves to death.
I don't know if the two are related in any way. It doesn't make sense to me that scripts, direction and acting change in a LESS compelling way due to a more relaxed production style.

Maybe these new dramas are a reaction to China and Japan's diminished interest in buying K-drama for their networks. An attempt to recapture their attention?
The result, nevertheless, for me is that I don't care anymore. K-drama used to give me feels, laughs and enormous warm fuzzies every single time, for years. In the last year or so, I can count the K-drama that have achieved that on one hand.
Even if new drama have to return to clichés and tired old plots... I want my old K-drama feels back!

How did this drama end?
Did they continue to live in their new bodies for the rest of their lives? Did they keep all the memories of their old lives? What about their families? Did they learn they were still alive?

Is she being fat shamed in this, like she was in Birth of beauty? I'm curious to watch this. But I couldn't stand…
Thanks @lyra & @njoly for your replies!
I was so devastated by how her character was humiliated in BoB (apparently being overweight also makes you clumsy and lack fashion sense which magically goes away when you're made over) that I rage quit after an episode or two.
This show seems to have a more sensitive and sensible touch, rather than going overboard. So I've given it a shot. :)

Any more shows with Ha Jae Sook playing this role, and the producers should be held liable for not starting each…
Is she being fat shamed in this, like she was in Birth of beauty? I'm curious to watch this. But I couldn't stand it if they did that to her again.

So happy for her recent success. Well deserved! Also LOVING the fact that her character is getting some love in Absolute boyfriend. She's being loved exactly as she is. About time someone who isn't a stick figure got some romance in k-drama. <3

He looks som much like a younger version f Han Sang Jin (Hyde, Jekyl, Me) that I thought they might be related. :D

She goes undercover for some actions, but works openly as a female inspector.
Aw, ok. I was hoping for a gender bender. Thanks

Is this a gender bender? Do people around her know she’s a woman?

Seems really many liked this drama and I dont mean to offend anyone, but it was after all another badly written…
I hate to say it: but I agree. :(
She used to write in collaboration with her then husband. Their greatest work together being Queen In Hyun's Man and Nine.
Looking at this drama and W, which were solo projects for her... It would seem that her strong suit is the supernatural, different dimensions and world building. Not so much with the character building and story arcs.

So... this drama had more plot holes than swiss cheese. That being said; I have a theory about the ending:
Jin Woo returned when the servers were turned back on, full scale.
He is flesh and blood. But everything except for basic game functionality (like how to walk and fight) has been erased. All his memories and what makes him Jin Woo has been erased. Which is why he hasn't been in touch.
(Although... why he would help random people in the game, which he hasn't formed an alliance with, isn't explained by any of this. Another plot hole, me thinks.)

They're going to show it at the cinemas here in Sweden, so I'm planning to watch it so I can support them! I hope…
Just came back from watching it at Bio Rio Hornstull. It didn't disappoint. Hope you enjoy it.

Continue watching because I watched them both and although there are some similar things at the beginning, I don't…
I'm gonna. :)
Loved the japanese one. It was one of the highlights of last year for it's sensitive and heart worm story.
In the Korean version I'm hoping for a more traditional Korean "forced cohabitation" and "contract marrigare" plot. Plus I like the actors. So expectations are high.
Just surprised that the Japanese drama is not mentioned as an inspiration anywhere. It clearly is, even if the Korean drama gains more of its own personality as the story goes on.
On Because This Is My First Life Nov 23, 2017
I've only watched 1,5 episodes so far... but this seems like a Korean version of https://kisskh.at/19702-nigeru-wa-haji-da-ga-yaku-ni-tatsu

The arranged marriage... her being in a desperate place in her life and impressing him by furiously cleaning the apartment and him being a closed off workoholic and using spreadsheets to calculate the rent... it all seems a little too familiar. ;)

Should perhaps be listed as a "reimagening", at least?

Does anyone happen to know the location they shot this drama at?
I recognice the buildings and streets from other historical dramas but I'm having a hard time googling it.
(Also used in Dr Jin, Queen for seven days" and lots of other saeguks that AREN'T MBC.)

Yay, just what I've been looking for, a drama podcast. Hope they talk about some J-drama's as well since…
I don't think there is a J-drama pod out there. But don't worry... There will be more J-drama in K-drama Addiction Therapy in the future. :) If nothing else Kimura Takuya has a new drama coming out next week. Can't pass that up.

Love this podcast, and I hardly even watch K-dramas anymore! It's just fun to hear them talk about whatever…
Haha! We've heard that from a bunch of people. That wasn't really the intention of the audio commentaries. But if it works... who are we to complain? ;D Hope you get back into dramas in 2017!
