Article Ask an Ajumma
I'm sorry not trying to be rude but you made a huge spoiler in your article about mars. I was only on like ep…
I agree with Valier.. the twin thing in Mars is actually not a big spoiler. Don't worry about it too much.

Nice article, I mainly paid attention to questions about Chinese dramas. For those new to Chinese dramas or want…
Thanks for the recommends Kadiance. I'm trying to branch out into other countries myself (for example, I'm watching my first Thai Lakorn), so any recommends from others is a great help for me and others. And perhaps if more people showed an interest in chinese dramas, more subbers would volunteer.

Love Shuffle is the only one I haven't seen (yet), but love all the other drams on the list. I'm glad to see Manhattan Love Story on this list as well, I picked it to watch at random and was pleasantly surprised by how much i enjoyed it. Stand Up and Unubore Deka were also pleasant surprises as well - I didn't have any expectations going in so that made my enjoyment of them more delightful :)

edit: oops.. I haven't seen Kisarazu Cat's Eye either

it's refreshing to see a drama where the female lead plays the jerk and the male lead plays the sweet and innocent person. I sometimes get tired of the common jerky guy/sweet girl combo. . Yes, it's a silly show, but makes for the perfect break from heavy melo. Even if you do watch a romantic-comedy, most rom-coms get some melo halfway through the series. I think that kind of spoils the rom-com a bit.
This is a non-complicated drama that is great from when you don't want to watch something that is too involved -- which is what I need right now. :)
Plus I like seeing No Min Woo play this sweet character. Actors definitely should play a variety of roles. That's how they hone their acting skills... otherwise they'll get stuck in a character type.. that can get kind of dull I imagine.

and... I also think it's kind of funny that Yang Jin Sung is playing another character (Ji Na-ssi) who lived near the ocean. Her character from Bride of the Century (Na Doo Rim) also lived by the ocean.

I still get "Never Say Goodbye" popping into my head on occasion. And it's been over a year since I've seen My Girl. I haven't finished watching Absolute Boyfriend, but I do love "Pretend we Never Loved". And "Ikenai Taiyou" from Hana Kimi is one of my fav jdrama songs. As for "Still" - I loved the You're Beautiful OST so much I bought the album - yeah, that's something I rarely do. This is a great selection of music by the way ^.^

Aside from rosefae72 recommendation I watched all of them. And I agree to them all specially Nodame which I re-watched…
Well, I suppose I could've chosen something else... but I agree the others don't measure up to Yuusha :D I should thank you for letting me get to choose it first.

I definitely recommend Shikeidai no Elevator. It definitely has a film noir feel to it.. Now I plan to watch the original French version. I'll have to check out the other 2, but first I would like to watch the Strawberry Night drama before looking into the movie.

In the first few episodes I teared up in nearly every scene with Cha Hong Do. Mostly because I relate to her character; not for the social phobia - mine is very mild compared to hers - but other phobic issues. The avoidance behavior, her home being her whole world, coping mechanisms, etc: it's all well-written and well-acted.

Se Ro might have something to do later on, as she still needs to deal with her brother's death (she did try, but…
my thoughts exactly. Besides, she's Yi Seok's sister so that alone is enough. If she's not necessary, then neither is his grandfather or mother. The drama's telling his family's story... not just the couple's story.

I've been waiting for this! Thanks for the review ;) I'm seen most OCN dramas so I wanted to watch this one but…
I have seen previous (not many) OCN dramas that were better, but I do think Dr. Frost is good so far. It's reached a point where it seems Dr Frost will have to face an "opponent" (not sure what else to call it). So in addition to episodic drama we also have a focal story.
So if you're interested, I say give it a watch.

i actually enjoy watching asian dramas with mental health characters so long as they are not bullied and well…
I really enjoy watching dramas that feature characters with a mental health problem. Especially when they do NOT make fun of the issue, but rather treat it with sensitivity. Yes, other characters may make fun of the character with the health issue, but if the overall story gets the audience to sympathize with the character (who has the mental health problem) then I am satisfied. Also stories which show the characters overcoming their challenges are always inspiring for me. Especially since I'm struggling with my own issues.
As in all other dramas, finding a good drama that deals with such issues is probably hit and miss. Not all are good, but the ones that are good are amazing.

Why not mention Good Doctor?
I haven't seen Good Doctor yet, so I couldn't comment on the character's condition.

It's a Wonderful Life is my most hated film ever. I think it makes a mockery of depression (though not of suicidal…
I agree with you about Hirugao. I just didn't include it because I wasn't completely certain of his situation regarding his personal mommy and family issues. In the end I felt bad for his character and wish he was treated better.

Thank you! This is definitely an article that needed to be written.
That is encouraging .. I just wish I had more expertise and info on this subject. But there are a lot of resources online for those looking for more in-depth information.

You should add "Kill Me, Heal Me" which will air soon.
That looks like an intersting drama! I'll add it to my PTW list - thank you :)

Is Broken Heart Syndrome one?? Broken Heart Syndrome in Birth of a Beauty
I'm not sure if it's a mental disorder. But I think it's more of an emotional disorder caused by stress due to the loss of a loved one (whether via breakup or death) which affects the health of the heart.

The only one of the dramas you mention that I have watched is Daisuki. It made me upset and sad to see how people…
Lack of empathy and/or sympothy can be indicative of a serious disorder - whether it be narcissism or a form of sociopathy or psychopathy or something else entirely different. If a person recognizes it early on, then there's definite hope.
And, I have Boku no ita jikan on PTW list as well.
