the weekend! great time to relax and avoid the roads :). I'll spend tomorrow morning watch things and then maybe tomorrow night we'll do something special when hubby comes home from work. Anniversary!

Tumbles aren't fun! Hope you haven't had anything serious! Be careful out there! At least it's only once a year. I'd be worried if it happened more often ?????)
Ice is deadly. We get a lot of rain but still have freezing temperatures over night, so we get terribly icy roads on occasion. I really curse winter ice!!
yeah, I'd assume the same thing. After watching a lot of movies and some dramas though I began noticing things. :)
My wish each year is to have snow on Christmas and then for it to be melted away the next day. Let us enjoy it one magical day and then have safe roads the rest of the season.

Sure thing :) I love playing the "guess what country that actor is actually from" game when I watch Asian movies. I don't do it often, but it's fun to recognize an actor that I had seen previously on a drama or movie. Sometimes I discover an actor has been in a movie I'd seen before I knew who they were. For example: A couple years ago (before my entry to dramaland) I watched a Chinese movie called "Sophie's Revenge". So Ji Sub was in it and I didn't know it at the time because I didn't know who he was. Now that I know I almost want to see it again.
Christmas is my favorite too. I love the lights and things. I wish we got more snow though. We don't get a white Christmas too often.

It depends on the actor/actress. Some of them do and some of them don't. They also cross over to do Chinese movies too. Just like some Korean and/or Japanese actors show up in dramas or movies over there. And also like European and American actors cross over into each other countries' films and shows. :)
It doesn't feel like Christmas here either. It's just nice to have the home prepped. For me it doesn't feel like Christmas until a week or maybe 2 before.

The 2 leads of ITWY are actually in a movie together called "Lovesick". It was a good movie (not great), so I guess they work well together. I also watch Hong Kong movies so I first saw him in a HK movie called "Give Love".
I don't really have Soulmate on hold... I'm just taking a looooooong time to watch it. :P :D
We're done. FINALLY finished yesterday. Even saved a spot in the room for our Christmas tree :)

Well, it's less about comics and more about TV, film, and books. Though I do read the occasional manga. I think it helped that my kids were exposed to it from an early age (same with music).
I also like that Asian drama is still in its own niche in the western world. I like people's expressions when you're trying to explain to them about the world of Asian drama and why they should look into it. It's like a mixture of curiosity and confusion rolled into one.

I'm glad you're enjoying ITWY so far! The lead actor I like. I've seen him in a few movies but have yet to see him in a drama. He's been more of a movie actor than a drama actor. I don't add him among my favorites though cause I haven't seen enough of him to have a strong opinion.
I'll probably continue to watch MoMo Love as I finish watching Soulmate. I'm about 1/2-way finished with that one so I'd like to get some closure.

well 15+ years ago when I was watching late night reruns while resting after tending to my wee ones I didn't have much choice in which shows were airing (no streaming shows on the internet! T.T) ... so I watched whatever the TV provided for me. I never seemed to be able to catch the shows while they aired so reruns on TV it was. But now that it's possible I like watching the shows in order. Yay Internet!!
Well I hope you enjoy ITWY too! I looked at the cast for the show and I recognize the 6 main actors listed (got lost after seeing the rest of the cast). Looks like a good cast.
I'll have to see about MoMo. But B&W has been enjoyable as long as I don't watch it marathon style. Just a few episodes each week has been good for me.

western sitcoms are different because they're not usually in any set sequence. You can watch an episode & miss a few eps because you won't miss out on a story. When I watched Frasier, Scrubs, & other sitcom reruns I watched most of them out of order. There were only a few eps that I needed to watch in order. Most western dramas are the same though, but they occasionally follow a sequential storyline. Since I like things that make me smile I don't mind 8-9 seasons of a sitcom, but get a bit down if I have to watch 8-9 seasons of drama.
I haven't read the MoMo manga, it just seemed like a show based on a manga so I looked it up. So far MoMo Love is cute & I like the characters. Since it's based on a manga I doubt it will get too "melo" further on. I expect some rom-com cliches but at least it's light.
I may be able to finish B&W this week. I have about 5 eps left.

Yeah, I'm not a big police action fan. I like some movies, but they're just 2 hours so it's a quick fix when I feel in the mood. But to be dedicated to a longer running tv series is a challenge for me. (and yeah, the new Hawaii 5-O). If it's a mini-series then I can handle it. But I just can't make a commitment to a long-running tv series like that. It's a rare show that can get me hooked when it has more than 2 seasons (Supernatural, for example).
Good luck with both QIHM and ITWY. QIHM also has a sweet couple (not the rich jerk/poor girl combo). So that was nice too. I am getting in the mood for a cutesy romance. I actually watched one episode of the Taiwan drama "MoMo Love" the other day. First ep was good. I may continue watching it too. It's based on the manga Momoka Typhoon (don't know if you've read or heard of it).

It took a few episodes for 9 end 2 outs for me to feel it with the main couple. But it's a nice change from the nice poor girl falling for the jerk of a rich guy that is a trend in many Korean dramas. I haven't seen In Time With You yet. I really loved QIHM!
I'm not in the mood for anything lately. I haven't watch a drama all week = well, mostly because I've been occupied. But I am making a goal to watch at least a few eps of Black & White this upcoming week. Even in American TV I have trouble completing more than one season of a police action drama, so watching B&W (despite being really good) is quite the challenge! For example, I love Hawaii 5-0 but I can't get past the first season! Something about police action dramas that kind of turn me off. That's the nice thing about Asian dramas. there's usually no more than 20 episodes in their dramas - makes it possible to finish

I generally don't listen to kpop much (Just one group in particular). My husband is the one more focused on music rather than drama. He loves all sorts of int'l music. Neither of us have friends that show an interest in either the music or the drama. Strangely enough, when it comes to music I tend to favor mando-pop over k-pop. *shrugs shoulders* I don't know why. I too mostly find other fans on the web.

yeah, if I'm not into a series I don't pay much attention to it. I liked the HG book but I'm not crazy over it like others are. Same with the HP books. Maybe it's a generation thing. I follow discworld books probably cause they've been around since the 80s... so I feel like it belongs to my generation.
Anyway I noticed you started 9 end 2 outs. I liked that one. Not a favorite, but I really did like it. Are you enjoying Don Quixote? I still haven't seen it, but I plan to.

I think there's just 3 books in the Hunger Games series. So after this movie there will probably just be 1 more movie after this one. Unless another book is written at some point? I don't know. I'm not a big HG book fan. I only read the first one cause my son checked it out from the library so I read it too.

yeah, the Korean related conventions are a bit far from us too. I don't know if Kpop is popular in our area or not (I don't get out much--). But yeah, anime and comics are generally the top things here. My daughter went to a comic/anime/sci-fi convention "OreCon" in Portland a few years ago. So at least we have that. Just like anime, I think Asian live drama may eventually find a large audience. I remember a time when anime wasn't a super popular thing in the US so drama may just be the next thing. Kpop is already getting an audience here it seems.

Well that's okay if you have read the HP books. I still haven't gotten around to reading the last book. I did see the Hunger Games movie and I did like it. I even read the book. I've put the other books on hold until I finish watching the movies in the future.
Well, since the furniture is big it's not too complicated (Just heavy). I had just planned on moving the furniture, but once I started looking through my desk and crafts drawers I began organizing. Now one simple move has turned into a huge reorganization project. OTL

Nice to meet you too! In my family it's the reverse. My kids don't watch Asian drama, though they do like anime. It's cool that you got your mom to watch Asian drama though. That's pretty awesome :). My kids think I'm cool 'cause I like anime too and even play a few video games. :D
Anyway, haven't been to any K-con type event. I'm not comfortable in crowds. But I've been to the local Asian markets that sell all sorts of Asian products (mostly Japanese)
Do they have events like K-con ever in Canada?

I understand. It can be difficult to get the desire to watch a movie based on a book or series of books. That's why after they started releasing the Harry Potter movies I stopped reading the books until I finished watching the movies. And I still haven't read the Hunger Games series. And with books so uniquely witty as the Discworld books it's difficult to translate that same wittiness to screen.
Well, we're halfway done (we don't have much furniture). The biggest task is actually organizing the little things.
