I know this is not about my country's history so that's why i might not understand the urge for such controversy but for me it seems like some people have nothing more to do of their life than fussing around dramas...I mean how many controversies have we seen in the past few months ! Almost feels like all the productions are picked on !
It's a TV show , a fiction... NOT a documentary so if the story is not fully accurate then let it be !

I had to stop reading the article as i was beginning to give me spoilers but it convinced me to keep on watching the drama so thank you ^^ <3
I had actually just put on hold the drama few days ago after the over the top TV confession thinking "and yet another Chinese school drama where the ML obsessively chase the FL until she says yes ==" ... but now I am reassured and quite curious on the next steps of their relationship

I think I have the opposite disease that comes with binge watching, once the drama come to the edge (escalates usually around ep 10-12 for kdrama or 20-25 for family drama) and things don't go m y way (either disappointed / frustrated or bored with the plot) I put it on hold and start another show until I come across the drama again (someone mentioning it or in edit videos) and feel like watching it back.
It kinda goes to dropping for some drama that I have on hold for years and cannot get myself to finish ^^"
I don't know how you can do something else or fall asleep while watching an episode, because of the subtitle I need full focus on the video especially for chinese speaking drama that I often need to pause or rewind to have the time to read u.u

I didn't see the 2 other drama but I agree for IOTNBO I couldn't care less for the twist and my reaction when tit got revealed was kinda ah...ok == . But I decided to ignore this fact and just enjoy the characters and the goth atmosphere until the end <3 which is why it ended up being well rated for me ^^

A piece of your mind is my number 1 fav' ! I think I saw the show 4 or 5 times already <3
a lot of people dropped it at the first episodes as it is very hard to understand where the story line is going but starting few episode you really get attached to the leads and the romance is one of the most touching I've seen

Hey ! Great article ! i'ts nice to put things back into perspective regarding computer science major especially with the recent focus that have been given to CS in the recent drama like chinese ones ans the rise of ACM (go go squid, the love equations ect...)
Even if you guys don't hack into stuff I still admire your work as my computer skillS and knowlegde stops with the CTRL short cuts XD

I actually have a "On Hold" disease, 75% of my watch list is on Hold and always half way throught or few episode before the end =/
Binge watching side effect ? climax aversion ? or just ending disapointment fear ? I can't really explain it but I just can't finish shows I was enjoying u.u and that also leave me with nothing to watch anymore
I should maybe try your method to try and finish those hold.

On the other hand shows I dropped are definitively condemned and shows I completed in 1 trait are re-watched over and over again XD

I actually don't care so much for product placement when they are part of the story I mean who cares if they go to subway or show the whole YSL lipstick colection when the FML gets ready. And even when they do I've never been really bathered by any scene designed for product placement.
On the other hand I hate the english placement espcially when they have so bad english I am pulling my hair out, best example is Veronica Park's Aweeeesome ! that everobody loves Aaaarrrhhhhh !!!

I strangely got the same number of B & D : Naturally Born Romantic Unhappy Lover Hmm... if that is not the best reciepe for a good old second lead syndrom then I don't know what it is ;P

I would add Kim Won Hae to the list. I recently strated The Fiery Priest and again he is here and makes me laught with his extravagant role XD

I also think that my real drama journey started with MDL in 2015, before that back in 2009 I was watching few dramas (fun fact is that: nobuta wo produce was also one of my firsts with atashinshi no danshi , hanazakarie no kimitachi e and more) but was not keeping track of it and I was finding my next targets in daylimotion sugestion list I eventually stopped watching as it was very hard to find subbed versions at that time. But my real addicton came in 2015 when I started wathing korean version of hana yori dango and found MDL to track all of that.
But unlike you I cannot seem to follow an actor that I love from begining to end, I actually do look into their portfolio to see new sugestion but I cannot watch t all as story line and genre are too important for me to start a show.

I do also recommend everebody watching Love O2O, it is actually the only C-Drama I managed to finish !
Maybe because it is easy to watch as you said ... I don't know all other C shows I started are very interesting and dear to my heart but cannot seem to go past half of the completing watching ==" when I totally binge watched Love O2O and even rewatched and tried the movie adaptation xD

I totally feel you for A gentle man dignity, ep 4 may be one of the first moments but the drama is full of Do Jin's jerk moment Arrrhhh >.< I kept wanting to slap him in the face and even stoped whatching when I switch my annoyance on the FL that was still in love with him no matter what she is put through.
I honestly think the only good / Nice thing he has done for her was threatning the money hungry thugs that were blackmailing her pfff ==

Nice post ! I feel what you mean I was not a binge watcher especially because of difficulties to find online plateform that were not pop up and add invaded !!! =o= However with Netflix hosting more and more Drama I started binge watching like crazy ! *ç*
Althought I don't see where you can find time to watch 20 in a row coming after work I barely can do 7 if I stay up late T-T
