I don’t usually write comments but I’m bored and the latest episode got me thinking so here I go haha. (it's a long one so strap in lol)
I think the writers made the right decision bringing RN back, since otherwise this season would have essentially had the exact same premise as S1. That being said, I’m so glad RN is back ;-; She’s like the only person I feel like I can genuinely root on, and without her the show would have lacked a genuinely innocent character for the viewers to root on. Don’t get me wrong, I still root for YH etc., it’s just that we pretty much know that she or any of the other adults cannot really have a completely "happy ending" even if they ”win”, because they’ve all committed crimes bad enough to put them in jail (which by my standards doesn't really qualify as a happy ending). As for the kids, I only root for SH and JN since they’re the only ones who have shown some humanity and seem to have developed into at least slightly better people (although that still doesn’t completely erase their past actions). I can’t bring myself to root for any of the others because I genuinely think they’re all, at least as of right now, still bad people.
On that note, I do pity EB and SJ since I don’t think anyone deserves to be abused or manipulated, but that doesn’t erase the fact that they are both bad people. You can say it's because of their parents (both were raised terribly and it shows) but you can’t blame every single bad thing they’ve done on that. They are still responsible to some extent, and I hope they are punished accurately for everything they’ve done. That also goes for every other character in the drama.
Speaking of the characters, I think MH is genuinely among the absolute worst of the bunch. He hasn’t grown as a person at all despite all the stuff that’s happened, and I don’t think he will. He seems to be bullying others purely because he finds it fun and doesn’t understand the weight of his actions. For a comparison, SK seems equally bad, but I think she’s doing it because of all the abuse she has gone through, and is taking it out on others. That, of course, doesn’t mean she’s in any way not responsible for her actions, but what I’m trying to say is that I don’t think she would have ended up like that if it wasn’t for all the abuse she has gone through. Or maybe she would have, who knows, I just really hate MH and hope he gets punished at the end.
As for predictions, I think RN was saved by SR or LL, which seems to be what most of us are thinking. Judging by the fact that she called SH from the hospital (at least it seemed like she did?), it seems she has someone paying hospital bills for her, and I would assume keeping her hidden would require some money and power as well. Anyway, I’m not sure which one of them it was, but I’m leaning more towards LL because he seemed really calm about her death even though he seemed kinda close with her before. It could also be SR because she came back around the time of her death, and was close with RN before she disappeared. I’m not the best at predictions though, so I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
Oh, and as a final note, I really love seeing JN and her mother’s scenes! Their storyline is probably my favorite in the whole drama, they’ve both grown as characters so much, and their scenes are super touching to me. I can feel that they really treasure each other a lot, and although they’ve both done bad things, I still root for them since they’ve grown so much.
