Bo didi, I knew him from his motorcycle journey. One day my friend sent me a link when it said about member of Kpop idol group participating in MotoGP racing. I was amazed back then and I found myself watching his drama Gank Your Heart. At that time I said to my friends, Bo didi is someone who looks like Jin from BTS, hahaha. Only a couple of weeks ago I finished watching him in The Untamed and here I'm, becoming his fan. LOL.
From what I see, they've created a formula like what Disney did with MCU. They have 3 important elements: IP, contents and talents.
Let's dig one by one:
1. The IP MDZS is already a strong IP and I think the media company paid a lot of money to the creator to buy it. From what I see, NSMG is now the IP holder for The Untamed. For your information, NSMG is backed by tech giant Xiaomi. If you have a strong IP like this, basically you can create anything based on that also you can sell license of your IP. That's what Disney basically doing. I'm not surprise if one day brand like MAC is having The Untamed edition hahaha....
2. The Contents The Untamed is created to become a successful franchise and that's the mindset of the producer and IP holder/investor for sure. In order to do this, they need to form a fanbase/community. The strong fanbase is helping franchise to succeed. Look at what Marvel did with MCU and look at how much money they've generated from the MCU franchise. Fanbase is generated from the contents. So we can see the main umbrella content which is web series, then they have cartoon, merchandise, music (they have TUBS and several singers too), and I'm not surprise if one day they'll create game, apparel and even theme park too!
Looking at the story and character, it's possible that the producer will create The Untamed Universe, thus why the spin-offs are there. I'm not surprise as well if one day the producer will create the story for each and every character.
3. The Talents The Untamed franchise is meant for the long run, like what MCU did. MCU spent 10 years from Iron Man to Endgame. That's also what The Untamed trying to do. They've recruited a bunch of unknown face but with interesting personality and trait, they are young and of course should be easy in the eyes. With strong script and acting, audience like us is "summoned" to the endless journey of The Untamed and we eventually like and connect with the characters. Just like MCU fans falling in love with the unknown hero like Iron Man.
How to connect the audience with the complex character in The Untamed? The above article is the answer. The producer is using Boyband method, this method works well for KPOP industry and I have to admit that they are taking a big risk to replicate it to a content like The Untamed, but hey it works super well!! The Untamed franchise accepted by tons of people, regardless they are into BL or not. The Untamed has touched and moved many people, we also can see by the response in social media and also reviews from big name media outlets. Even I'm becoming The Untamed fan!
We basically help the franchise to grow and to be bigger than they are now.

Omg, last time I came here asking about the drama, should I watch or not because I'm not into BL thingie. But now look at me, I've finished all 50 episodes and I'm speechless beyond words. This drama is something I would give my 10/10 rating. What a roller coaster emotion and ride, I laughed, I smiled and I cried through these 50 hours journey. The best drama I've ever watched lately and I don't know whether I can watch other drama than this for the next couple of months, LOL.
I can tell you, awesome drama like this is rare and you only can find this treasure once in a blue moon..
After watching 3 series: Love Designer, The Thunder and Moonshine & Valentine, I could tell that he's such a versatile actor! He can communicate with his eyes, his gesture even his tiny gesture and also his micro expression are something. Love Designer is his work for showing his potential even though the script isn't the best.
Not to mention he's still young but his acting partners are mostly his seniors (in the industry) with big names! I don't really follow his personal life and his scandal because it's his private issue, what I would love to see is his works. I would love to know his work as an EP and producer as well, wondering why he had so much times to do works behind the camera when clearly he has drama and movie schedule on the list.
Aside from his drama, I can see that he's super passionate person when it comes to work and he's super professional as well. I can see through BTS of Love Designer, the kissing scene between him and Dilireba, he hold his hands for not over touching his partner. It's what I call professional because he respected his partner.
Too much BL vibes in my timeline about this drama and it's a turn off for me because I don't like it. Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of gay friends, some of them are even becoming my bff, but BL drama isn't something I would like to watch because it's not portraying what gay relationship is. Also most of BL drama are based on the novel and the author mostly are straight female. They just change the narrative from girl character to male character.
So, as a non BL fan like me, should I watch this drama?
