I do have some annoyance toward the female lead, her acting is a bit off, but their chemistry is super cute (makes me giggle and giggly as if Sevi was asking ME OUT hahaha ) so I will continue to watch

Agree, I liked recently Blossoms in Adversity, that was a good balance, but so far nothing good to check out, maybe The double but the main female lead is a bit off for me sometimes...

I will miss this show a lot, it had its flaws but so far this year this is the best Costume C-drama I watched, and maybe since a long time. I loved the strong female lead and the open communication between leads. Kind of into those type of super military powerful men and trying to save themselves or their family trope. Love like the galaxy gave me the same vibe, I will be looking out for more similar shows! Those provide a good amount of everything!

What actually happen in the novel? I also read some sick stuff like the emperor drugging and raping Hua Zhi or something like that. I could not find how he died in the novel itself.
