I am not from this culture so I can't say but i would say it is a small reference to "Autumn's Concerto". This is one of my favorite Taiwanese drama.

1. The situation is similar a hidden child, the father hear this line about the blood and direct parent (well that troupe is also in a lot of other drama so I expected that line)
2. But the fun fact is that the kid also calls her mom by her name in that drama.

Maybe just a drama troupe they like to have
