I pity Wang Ling, her mother was willing to sacrifice her daughter and the Wang clan for the “Qian’an” royal family. Just to find out the man that she’s marrying killed her grandfather and is rebelling against the country.
CSS father being accused a traitor while LBY is gone to deal with Peng Kun is no coincidence. Especially since the officials in the court want to eradicate CSS entire clan without proper evidence or trial. We all know that CSS father is low but slowly rising general and they are still somewhat a “poor” family in those officials eyes. Seeing how close CSS ( a girl with a humble background) got to the royal family must have triggered someone to accuse her father. These corrupted officials do not want the poor in the court. So, I’m curious to see how this plays out.
CSS’s mom finally realized that their mother-daughter relationship is on a loose thread. After hearing the palace and the Empress has prepared so much for CSS wedding, she feels down. I do feel bad for CSS’s mother because your daughter marrying is a huge occasion but she never assured nor comforted CSS when she was living at home. Therefore, the royal family is becoming CSS family and they are slowly realizing that.

Too many sweet scenes is todays episode I had to pause many times lol. CSS being able to break down in tears in LBY’s embrace shows how much their relationship as grown. I believe that LBY will not believe any rumors about 5th prince and CSS. He knows her character and personality well. Besides he has people watching her and I believe 5th prince will just blurt everything out because he’s afraid of LBY.
-5th princess is evil and has no regards for human life. Pushing someone into a lake is one thing but having snakes thrown into the water as well is straight up terrifying. Her character is dangerous and she can potentially take someone’s life if no one puts her in check. - Luo Jitong, I see her as a bystander and another villain. Her maid is already up to no good so her character must be the same. She’s just quiet about it.
CSS wanting to understand what goes around in the palace and how LBY grew up makes sense. However, I hope she takes LBY words into consideration when she gets involved in palace affairs. Especially when it’s the power struggle between the Empress and Consort Yues children. Everyone has an agenda, the Crown Prince’s wife helping CSS isn’t mainly out of concern. She wants to get on her good side. All the prince(?) and princess like LBY, especially his power. That’s why they want him on their side, with CSS now in the palace, they have another route to access him. LBY grew up in the palace so he knows what’s it like when people suddenly help you but expect something greater in return.
Third Princess is married already, why is she still trying to get LBY’s attention? Bullying CSS doesn’t help, it’ll just make him hate her more. Also, ganging up on her is a low move, is she were to fight CSS one on one, CSS will probably win.
I have two scenes that are difficult for me to re-watch. The first one was in Hua County, where they show all the people suffering and being k*lled. Now, the second scene is when CSS parents completely destroy her self esteem and degrade her in front of so many people. Especially that these people are members of the royal family and nobles. - my heart goes out for CSS, it’s not easy hearing your parents say all these humiliating and hurtful comments.
If it airs friday and saturday too, why do we have to wait 4 more day for the next episode? :/
That was only for the first premier of the drama! MDL hasn’t changed it, but the schedule is Tuesday,Wednesday, Thursday. Hopefully someone can fix it.
Ep 23: this episode was funny, the way LBY said that he doesn’t need any female maids in his residence and having CSS is enough for him. He is actively trying to show her and others that he wants her but CSS is a little dense so she’ll come around. However, when YS and the prince and princess came to visit, this is when everything went downhill. Wang Jin constantly trying to bring CSS down bothers me and YS is the same as those mean girls. Constantly bringing her down and trying to find the faults in her. I’m glad LBY put Wang Jin in her place. Princess Yucheng should’ve stayed away from LBY, he made it clear in ep.5 that he will not marry her.

They do love each other. LBY fell for her first. Throughout the engagement CSS will constantly fight him but eventually falls for him because of his love, care, and protection. I believe that their love was so deep, they were willing to protect each other with their life.
