I really don't understand why more effort isn't put into quality scriptwriting. Outstanding examples exist, albeit rare. And plenty of cautionary examples to avoid are widely available. But so many dramas look great yet disappoint. To think that staffs & casts put so much effort into every aspect of a production when the script is already obviously lame confounds me. It's not as if excellent acting & cinematography (to give two examples) could save it. A great script decently performed will succeed even if the production is low-budget, while a polished turd only pleases the ardent fans of the lead actors. There's gotta be a reason…
