My first Thai BL series was Love Sick (2014), and I have so much sentimental love for it. I've watched both seasons around four times! Currently, I'm watching Love Sick (2024), and I'm honestly blown away. They've trimmed many unnecessary plotlines and scenes, so in just three episodes, there's as much happening as in six or seven of the original. But it totally works! The actors are fantastic too. Right now, this show is my comfort series and my absolute favorite out of shows i am currently watching.
Can't wait forSunday because every new episode just makes my whole week <3

Wow, if only adults could communicate with each other like these two teenagers do, the world would be a better place. I'm so impressed! I don’t mind that they’re straying a bit from the original novel—I think they’ve taken a better path by removing a few morally questionable storylines. I’m thrilled, and I hope it continues this way!

Thanks for diagnosing me, even though it doesn't make any sense

So, my first impression of the series during the very first episodes was, “Okay, what’s going on here?!” The silly action scenes, the poor fake tattoos, and some pretty weird dialogue had me questioning it all. However, I quickly reminded myself that it’s a series meant for entertainment, and not everything needs to make perfect sense. The acting is solid, the chemistry between the characters is excellent, and I genuinely enjoy the cinematography. So I decided to just watch it with a laid-back attitude.
I absolutely loved the second episode in almost every aspect!

Now, having just finished the third one, I have to say it was the weakest one so far. It felt quite boring, and not much progress was made in the main characters’ relationship. While not every episode needs to be action-packed to be entertaining, this particular episode lacked engagement for me.
I appreciated the comedic elements in the earlier episodes, but in this one, the humor seemed to rely heavily on making fun of characters who act and look more feminine or display feminine mannerisms - I know that this isn't the only BL that portrays these characters in a sarcastic way, but it felt like they were trying to portray them as super dumb (femme-phobia style), which I found off-putting. Overall, I felt that this episode was disappointing in its comedic aspects.

That said, I’m not hating on the entire series. There are just certain aspects I liked and some I didn’t. So I really hope it sounds more like a constructive criticism.

Wow, just finisded ep. 2 and we’ve zipped through so much of the plot! At this rate, we’re gonna fit two whole seasons of the original into these 15 episodes! :D I'm not complaining tho! IT's so pure and cute!

This episode tries to tackle school rivalry and competition, touching on some key issues, but I feel like it fell flat by the end.

Sports Day can be fun, but academic competition is a whole different story - it can weigh students down. Jia Hao isn't a bad kid.. he's just lost. He's a product of a school system that thrives on competition. Even when Teacher Xi tells him to focus on his own strengths, the school pushes constant comparisons: grades, awards, you name it.

Jia Hao’s methods for dealing with his struggles are awful, but honestly, the school and teachers haven’t taught him how to handle failure. We only see him struggling, while everyone else keeps improving. I really feel bad for him and hope the series digs deeper into the topic of failure.

As for the adults. . . Xi-Bei couple, it's time to tell Mrs. Yang about your relationship! She’s an LGBT ally, and it’s clear you can trust her. Maybe they’re dragging it out for the drama or jealousy, but at least it shows that even adults stumble, and that’s part of the lesson too.

At first, I was just watching it in the background while playing some cozy games. Since I needed subtitles to follow the dialogue, I probably missed about 70% of the series during my initial watch. While I could follow the plot by occasionally glancing at the screen, I didn’t catch a lot of the meaningful and emotional depth, especially in the interactions with the supporting characters.

However, after reading your comments, I decided to give it another watch with full attention, and it’s made a world of difference. Now, I truly appreciate the importance of each relationship, dialogue, and scene. The warmth and love between Wang and Tian really shine through. This has become one of my favorite BL series so far!

I agree with both of you.
Even though none of these series are finished yet, The On1y One has already proven, after just eight episodes, that it’s definitely one of the best series of the year, if not ever. As for Jack &Jocker, it might be a bit early to say this since we’ve only had two episodes so far, but from what I’ve seen in terms of production, cinematography, editing, humor, and the chemistry between YinWar, I’m ready to say it’s my favorite ongoing Thai BL series.

The OG Lovesick series was my first-ever Thai BL, and while I know it wasn’t perfect, it will always be one of my favorite shows. It holds so much sentimental value and has a special place in my heart.
When I heard there was going to be a remake, I was pretty excited. I hoped they’d improve it a bit - cutting out unnecessary scenes and making the plot easier to follow. After watching the first episode, I’m honestly surprised by how well it was done. They found new actors, but they didn’t stray too far from the original cast. The new actors still bring their own uniqueness, but they feel more like an extension of the original characters rather than completely different versions. The acting is solid, and considering how young they are, they’re incredibly talented.

One thing I loved about the original series was the language - it was really true to the novel, raw and realistic, with a few curse words here and there that made it feel like I was truly following the lives of teenagers. I’m glad they kept that in the remake too. It adds such a real touch.

And the OST! The original soundtrack was pure gold, and I’m so happy they kept it in the new version. Hearing those songs again gave me such a rush of nostalgia.

What makes me happiest is that even though I’m watching a completely refreshed series, it still feels like I’m experiencing the same story, just better. So far they’ve tightened the plot, and improved the editing. I really hope they keep this quality up all the way to the end.

Why is the whole series industry sleeping on this guy’s talent? I first saw him in the I Am Your King series, and he completely outshined the rest of the cast. Now, I just saw him in Jack & Jocker in another supporting role. There are so many actors out there who don’t even have half his talent and yet they’re landing lead roles. Is it that he’s just not choosing the main roles, or what?

I'm 30 and I'm pretty invested in their story here as well as in the Moonlight Chicken. I am enjoying every minute of MySchoolPresident since ep. 1.

Seeing Gun being ready to tell other people about his relationship with Tinn. Opening up to Sound and admitting they are meeting each others.
This is also the first time Gun is so open about his feeling - telling Tinn he missed him and ensuring Tinn that he is very important. That's a big, BIG step forward in my opinion.

imo the only perfect moment for a kiss in this episode was the one scene on the beach, that was brutally interrupted by Yo looking for a suncream.... 😅
Other two "almost-kiss" scenes had more like okay-lets-get-this-done-already vibe for me.
I am somehow glad their lips didn't touch today.
The notebook kiss made me melt and I still bear in mind Tinn's promise, that he will kiss Gun once HotWave is over.
(I'm sure the "touching lips kiss" will happen in 12 ep. otherwise they wouldn't tease us so much).

in the original MV from Tilly Birds couples do not share a kiss.
The reason might be, they cut out kiss to make it more similar to the original version.

I think Gun really didn't get Tinn's confession, however he realised (5 minutes later in the show) while listening and interpreting "Just Being Friendly" song.
