The only person who had semi-fun during the truth game was Doc π€£
And the audacity to after all that asking SW is he had rough night π€‘DAMN
The whole game she was like: π
Yo, they actually ended at her place, I cannot. It's so awkward coz she is obviously not as drunk anymore π€£
Okay... no way. She is dreaming coz no way they kissed so fast, I know my kdramas π€‘
*few seconds later *
I FUCKING KNEW IT π€£π€£π€£ but I'm also curious what actually happened lol
So... nothing happened. Tho the dreamy kiss was a nice touch, I am not complaining π
The convenient store scene... this is why people say you should always try to look at least decent, coz you never know whom you might meet and what might be the situation π€‘ Personally love her outfit, ain;t rom-com tho π€£
His face when she asked him if he wants "popsicle" π€‘ And then he just left π€£ It's so hard to understand this man.
SKDJHFDSKFH OMFG HE LEFT COZ HE COULD NOT HOLD BACK THE FUCKING GIGGLE! OMG SDJHGFDSKUGHDS
The way he is trying to get close to her, and she keeps running away. What a perfect cliche. I am in cliche heaven!
HE OPENED THE EVELATOR DOOR FOR HER! When it's not something he does. He literally closes it in front of everyone so he does not have to ride with them ππ
Thought it would take a little bit longer, but so far spot on - she thought he might confessed (kind of pushed into that direction by her friends lol), when he just wanted to propose them working together π€‘
Moving on with my predictions - now that she turned him down, he will work hard to make his project "safe" and more probable to succeed so she will willingly join him with no worries of failure.
I already hate er ex, holy shit π€‘ Fuck... but that confession he made in the past? Real good. Solid. I hate him more lol
His lips moved just tiny bit upwards coz he was able to use that drink to see her after work π€£π€£π€£
Honestly if a hot dude like that complimented my work ethics and drive like that, I'd fall for him right away π
Damn I had so much fun watching ep 2 πππ
And the dark toxic was actually what made Secret Relationships so good π
I see people are happy the two dudes kissed, but like... for me them not being into each other and for sure not even thinking about kissing was perfect coz it matches the story and their motivations π€‘ I am scared the characters will be far more simple in this adaptation.
THE WAY SHE WAS HIDING HER FACE ON HIS LAP I CANNOT BUT ALSO CANNOT BLAME πππ
And then we have the perfect misunderstanding... yes. Thank you. Slap me in the face with all cliches! π₯
Listen I am dying. It literally cannot get more cliche. This poor FL who is done with both work and love life. And here comes the cold, stoic, professional workaholic boss... who clearly has feelings for her and he clearly knew her from the past. And he is low-key helping her at work and she starts to open up to him, but then the ex will show up. I fucking cannot wait π₯ππ€‘
They are giving me the top quality of predictability and I LOVE IT! when he got into the bus and sat next to her, fuck yeah!
WAIT WHAT THE FUCK THEY ACTUALLY SURPRISED ME, HE IS HER ROLE MODEL'S EX HUSBAND? HAHAHAH π
He so obviously likes her and cares for her... fuck me, I am so in. the way he got worried when she stopped at the crossing and grabbed her hand yes, thank you
Seo In Guk in casual clothes > Seo In Guk is suit.
That black shirt was a fit π₯ Looked great.
Now just waiting for the shower scene π
Of course we are getting drunk female lead scene. Of course. I mean... we need it. It's needed. Thank you. Really. Feel blessed. And then tripping and falling into his arms. WE ARE BLESSED BITCHES. That closeup to his hand and arm, fuck yeah π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π―π―π―π―π―
SHE JUST INVITED HIM TO HER PLACE, AT THE END OF EPISODE 1 HOLY FUCK THIS IS FAST HAHAHAH
Time for predictions:
He will scout her coz he likes her as a worker and sees potential in her, but he also actually likes her, whenever he is aware of it or nah. She will think he is interested in her (which he is), but then will find out it was all work, so glorious misunderstanding π€‘ And then when ML will try to confess and clear shit up, the ex will show up coz reasons π
I need episode 2 yesterday.
Did anyone understand how she was able to return to the present when the very same shaman had explicitly said that if she went back to save the prince, she would never be able to return? < the shaman was unreliable narrator basically. It is by all means "the power of love brought them back together". She did not remember anything after "dying" and in normal circumstances when she was ready, she would move to next life or afterlife. But literally Se Gye's love guided her back into her "modern" body that was in coma.
In the end, that supposedly ominous comet had absolutely no impact on her transmigration. It spent the entire drama hanging in the sky for nothing? < the comet was nothing more nothing less than a clock that showed how much time she had before death in past timelines, and getting back to the past.
So all it took was for the shaman to casually visit her in the present, drag her back to the past, and then send her back again, and suddenly everything is fine? Since when did the shaman have godlike powers? And while weβre at it, can someone explain how any of these back-and-forth trips were even possible? < how the trips were possible is never explained, BUT the shaman did not send her back to modern time, Seo Ri leaving the place between the lives chose to get back to her modern body. As I said above - usually leaving that place would lead you to afterlife or next life, but she made the choice to go back to her body in coma after gaining her memory back. Yes, this is the Disney love saved her type of a deal.
Did the writer ever decide whether this was reincarnation or transmigration? < it was soul swap. Modern Seo Ri with past Dam Sin.
And how exactly did she return to the present while her past self continued living happily ever after with the prince? Did one Shin Seori suddenly become two? < this was confusing for me, but after the scene ended I feel like it's more of an open ending. No one knows what happened in the past storyline after the cliff scene except for the fact the prince vanished. And the flashback for me was just what Se Gye and Seo Ri imaged could happened as they talked about the past.
Back in the present, how was the villain exposed? Did his driver simply decide to turn him in to the police? What suddenly motivated him to do that? < it was hinted a few times that no one was really loyal to Mun Do and they gave the info to the grandpa. It was never explained in detail but from what I understood Se Gye worked with the "corrupt" detective for mutual benefit to bring Mun Do down and the people who worked for him probably cut the deal with the detectives and prosecution - statements for lesser punishment.
And what about Cha Seo-gye? How did he recover from the scandal? Wasnβt his perfume brand accused of using toxic ingredients? After all that controversy, he was still handing out boxes of that same perfume to everyone in the cast. < yeah... this one was just left with little to no explanation tbh Β―\_(γ)_/Β―
I wrote a long as review, but long story short:
π₯ Seo Ri was a great female lead, less so romantic lead.
π Se Gye was great romantic lead, less so male lead.
π― The chemistry was fire.
πThe performances were amazing
π€‘ Mun Do was a mediocre villain.
There were things to love, there were things to question, and there were things to criticize Β―\_(γ)_/Β―
