Incredible! Just incredible, bravo! Intensely, relentlessly drowning in the all-consuming art, this movie perfectly…
I disagree with the statement “romance is unconsciously just the means to an end”… this is just my interpretation, but to me it seemed that romance was treated an impediment to success. An obstacle to be danced around rather than embraced. Figuratively and literally. Maybe I’m just one of a very few people who has walked away from love to achieve a goal? But that’s how I perceived it.
Honestly? maybe i just "don't get it" but I dont get it lol. The dancing was absolutely supurb and beautiful…
I feel that there was a lot of allegory/metaphor in this movie: dance style as metaphor for personality, partnered dance as allegory for relationships. Also, there is the competitive aspect… to walk away from love to achieve your goals. I can definitely see how this movie is not satisfying if you are expecting a standard romance plot arc. Because that’s not what this movie is about. There’s a lot of subtext. And it also depends on where you are in life. I’m probably a lot older than you, so I have lived experience with the issues like the ML’s are struggling with. I know you feel that shouldn’t be the case, but film is art, and art is allegory of life. It’s not literal.
What’s the deal with the butler wearing a tuxedo?! Formal dress for dinner parties, yes, but during the day…
They are in an alternate universe, so you can’t really say a butler doesn’t dress like that because it’s not our universe. Surely, you’re not expecting realism from a Domundi production! lol
I've a few doubts..Did Wu Suo wei and Jiang Xiao Shuai know each other before they met at the clinic in the first…
Chi Cheng and GCY are friends. But they are also thugs, so they will behave the way thugs do no matter what. They weren’t corporate types in the novel. Don’t let their job titles fool you.
The snakes are Chi Cheng’s hobby, but he loves some of them like pets. He’s also like a collector/trader. So yes, his dad had them stolen to make him more responsible. But Chi Cheng is very very pissed off about it. They haven’t shown yet just how angry he is, except for turning over that guy to some other thugs to get SA’ed because he was part of the theft. He wants to get those snakes back no matter what it takes.
How's that small, bare ass enclosure for the python?? I was like, bro you're rich, why is your 'prized' python…
The snakes are an important part of the plot in the novel. Everything they have shown regarding the snakes comes from the novel so maybe blame the author? It’s not the production just randomly adding snakes.
Brother or sister, you would not survive the novel this drama is adapted from then, if u already feel uncomfortable…
This show is not for you. Don’t let the humor fool you. In the novel, Chi Cheng is a hardcore thug who has actually SA’ed men to death. He will get even more forceful with SuoWei over time. Don’t say you weren’t warned.
this is cute and all but chinese bl’s have a tendency to end in tragedy so i think i’ll wait until its completely…
I read the translation of the web novel and it’s not a tragic ending for either couple. Lots of ups and downs (and SA in the novel) but not actually sad. Unless you get emotionally attached to snakes, or all the mice they eat, lol.
It’s tolerable to me except for the random high school scenes. It’s only a 6 episode drama, so there’s no way that the seemingly unrelated high school plot is going to pay off. The leads are attractive, though. I’m kind of surprised that something this low quality got picked up for distribution. Seems more like it would be a direct-to-YouTube series.
