Idk but I have to say the production values are very mediocre. I completely understand the metaphorical values and the underlying message behind but to rate the drama on this basis is foolishness. Very funny people would anyways want to rate it high even when they're provided with constructive points about how this drama failed to execute the thing.

The problem is he's both the director and writer here. For Train to Busan he was the director and for script there was another writer along with him. Whereas for Peninsula, he was the only writer and we all know how trash that movie is. So this reasoning should be legit for explaining that Hellbound is pretty average.

I think it's because you haven't seen many Kdramas😅. Sorry if that's rude bcs I have seen a lot and elements used in this Kdrama are not anything new. There are many other experimental Kdramas. It's just the standard of such genres of Kdramas are already so high, even something as popular as Squid Game felt like another average 7.5 drama.
