Pretty great so far. 12 eps in and it's leaving most of us hungry for more, which is very promising. Really enjoying…
I was going to say the same thing about ZLH's projects - Bright Eyes was solid but he wasn't the ML there, and MJtY fell just a little short for me (side eyes that ending ...) And we all know he's got all the factors to be an AWESOME ML!!

BL never disappoints, even if the scripts do! So I'm happy to see she's got lots of upcoming works in the pipeline!

They both look gorgeous in historical costumes, so that's an added reason for me to shimmy over and check it out!

straight from ZLH's "complicated, damaged character" to his "amazing jawline" 🀣
I was debating whether to watch this, having been traumatised by other similar storylines recently, like Lost Track of Time, but I think your comment just convinced me to watch this!!

Everybody's already said it for me, so I won't even comment on the airing schedule πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

I've been obsessed with the OST music from Day 1, so it's been torture to wait for the songs to drop - and we still only have 2 songs released!! Out of sheer desperation, maybe I should also count the song Teacher Seo Won sang at the wedding?!!

I'm endlessly replaying the intro/outro and bits - but these are just CRUMBS!! HALP!! We're 4 eps in already - can they please at least give us the music, if not the episodes?! πŸ€ͺ

So ironic that Hae Na's only got 100 days to break the 🐢 curse, which is about as long as the drama's actual airing schedule anyhow. At this rate, she's more likely to become a doggie because of the Curse of the Broadcasting Schedule - TOTALLY on another level to the mere curses of ancient gods and Trucks of Doom πŸš› 🀣🀣

But, I also think the title has double meaning...Castaway as in stranded on an island as our FLAnd Castaway as…
yes, I'm rooting for our 2 divas to support each other and redeem each others' lost years.

After all, Ranjoo is originally also from Chumsando island too, so there's probably more to her story and the reason why she left. All the adults on that island seemed pretty toxic anyhow.

Maybe Chumsando was the REAL "deserted island", bereft of dreams and hope.

I wouldn't mind a story focused more on how Mokha "saves" herself and in the process, helps save those around her by her positive influence and strength and loyalty. So even if she finds Kiho, it doesn't necessarily have to end in a romance - maybe they can give closure to each other's "first love", if that's what it was ... although I just noticed the "romance" genre is back??!!

So does this mean Bo Geol also lost his memories too somehow? Because if he didn't, it wouldn't make sense for…
... and although I like a bit of romance, I know it's not the driving force of the story.

Even Kiho and Mokha's childhood connection goes beyond a mere "first love" - they meant more to each other than that. They were living in survival mode as vulnerable kids, but at a crucial time they became unlikely allies who inspired each other with the courage to keep moving forwards without giving up. But they were torn apart by circumstances beyond their control. So I'd be fine if they overcame their past demons and reunited with each other, but not necessarily with a romantic ending.

I wouldn't mind either way - I really wanted Kiho to recognise Mokha when she started singing, like the first time he heard her sing in high school! We got some reactions from both brothers, but it was purposefully vague.

At this point, I guess the REAL twist would be if Woohak actually turned out to be Kiho after all! πŸ€ͺ🀣 It's still only Ep 2, a looong way to go!

Love the show thus far... the transition to adult Park Eun Bin was seamless
yes, I loved Lee Re in Hello Me! - she was a perfect mini Choi Kang Hee.
But she's totally killing it as the young Mokha here!! Her accent here is adorable!!

ah, just saw your comment after I posted a similar opinion above!
yep, Kiho may be reserved and cool, but it's impossible that he'd be so indifferent to finding her, unless he's forgotten a part of his memories related to Mokha.

I agree, it's totally possible that both brothers suffered some kind of memory loss at different points in their life. Or maybe one of them is pretending/hiding his memories, in order to "protect" the other brother, for whatever reason.

At this point it's just so obvious that Bo gyeol is ki ho. I can't imagine kiho as a free minded person like woo…
totally agree about Mokha! Even in her kid character, she made such a strong impression, so it was very moving when she showed her unwavering determination to keep moving forward towards her dream, instead of burying herself back in Chumsando.

She already lost 15 years of her life, so she's got nothing left to lose - it's full speed ahead!!!

When she was a child, she might have asked Ran Joo to "save her", but after surviving on the island for 15 tough years, Mokha knows that only she can save herself.

I'm looking forward to how she proves that to everyone who thinks she's still just an immature teenage girl from a rural backwater. And of course, I want to see the friends and allies who are inspired by her and support her! Most of all, I wanna see her reunite with her bestie soon!!

Well, at least ep. 2 wasn't as traumatic as ep. 1. I have thoughts. Why does older brother copy younger brother?…
yes, a boat load and years of mystery to unpack, not to mention heaps of red herrings along the way!! 😝

This is total speculation, but the weird sibling vibes *might* be explained if Woohak knew Bogeol had been abused / abandoned as a kid - acting like the clingy older brother and following him everywhere might be his way of "protecting" Bogeol, or even as an apology / compensating Bogeol for going through such a terrible childhood while he himself was safely living with their mother ...? So he always tries to make sure Bogeol feels included in the family?

Even though Ep 2 implied that Woohak thinks he's Kiho, part of me wonders if he's pretending to "remember" he's Kiho, to test/jog Bogeol's memories. Woohak is a reporter, after all, so maybe he's sticking close to Mokha and investigating, to protect Bogeol from painful past memories, or even to make sure the abusive dad doesn't hurt his mum or Bogeol again?

I know it's a farfetched assumption, for sure!! πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

I'm guessing the current father is Kiho's stepfather. (Not even sure if their mum is married to him, since I can't imagine the jealous ex-cop husband agreeing to give her a divorce...)

Pretty sure the mum is Kiho's biological mum, since she walks with a limp, which she probably got from her abusive ex-husband.

yes, I think it's possible for BOTH the brothers to have a family secret, and both have memory gaps. I've certainly…
Woohak is supposedly the "hyung" who lost part of his memories, but he seems more comfortable with his parents (well, his personality's a part of it too). Bogeol seems to use more formal language when talking with his parents - so if he's Kiho, maybe he was "reunited" with his mum when he ran away from his abusive dad.

I think the mum is Kiho's biological mother - she walks with a limp, which I'm assuming she got when her ex-husband cop got violent.
Not sure why she had to leave Kiho behind - she probably had no choice back then, and Kiho's sadistic and vengeful dad would make sure she and Kiho were completely cut off from each other.

I'm not sure how much Kiho remembers about his childhood and Mokha - at this point, I think he *doesn't* remember. Otherwise, it doesn't make sense for him to show such a lack of reaction now, when back then he was prepared to risk his freedom and his life so that Mokha had a chance to escape to Seoul. He was devastated when he thought she'd drowned (he probably also felt responsible for her accident). The townspeople would've blamed him for what happened to Mokha and her father. He spent years waiting at the Old Seoul Station meeting point (so maybe something happened to him while he was in the military, or afterwards? It's more likely that he was so tormented by memories of her that he selectively erased her from his memory?).
Anyway, if he does remember, I can't comprehend that he'd be so indifferent to her, after finding her again. At the very least, he'd be relieved or sorry, and would worry about whether she had a place to stay or not.

Also - was it just my imagination, or was there a noticeable lack of adult women shown in Eps 1 & 2? The adult Chumsando men shown were a pretty pathetic lot - they seemed to either be abusers, or guys who abetted the abusers (Mokha's arms were BLACK with bruises - anyone would know that just smacking her "with a broom" wouldn't result in those kinds of injuries - unless she was trying to shield her FACE, ffs). The Yong Gu and Jae Sik types were also calling Kiho "the worst son" for reporting his father, but they were quick to claim possession of Mokha's old house and kick her out when she had nowhere to go. No wonder the women all seem to want to leave the island.

The scary part is kiho's dad is still alive and looking for him
Assuming that Kiho still retains all his high school memories, I think he'd know his father totally wants revenge. So it would make sense to change his name, also to protect his mother (again, assuming he's now living with his biological mum).

I think he's shipping them because he wants to revenge or something like this, and I also think he's the one who…
yep those are the vibes I get as well!

He seems to be intentionally bringing them together, but at the same time, he's testing them with various tricks and comments (like making them "meet at the cake shop, letting the dog run loose towards Seo Won so that Hae Na rescues him)

There's also the Ep 4 preview where BG says "you'll drift apart sooner than you thought" (or something similar).

BG's never indicated any romantic interest in Hae Na - he seems to be more on Seo Won's side? - so I also thought it's got to do with the death of his past lover.
(Or maybe even that he's trying to stop SW from being hurt by HN, as might have happened in the past?)

He told HN he likes dogs because they're "loyal" to their masters - it seems to be part of why the punishment/curse is to be turned into a dog ...
