This show is relentless scheming against the Crown Prince by his brother, the Chancellor, his tyrant jerk dad the Emperor, and when I say relentless, I mean non-stop difficult to watch relentless. No comic relief at all.

I think he loved FX’s mom the most though. I think it’s complicated by the fact that emperors always feel threatened by talented sons, but I think he does love him because his mom was so special, and he is also special.

I’m going crazy because I want to watch the latest episodes on WeTV but the subs are terrible. The subs on Viki are good, but the episodes come out later. 😩

Rewatching S1 to get ready. Immediately sucked into thw JoL vortex by the incredible OST. I forgot how great it is.

Oh yeah, and the Emperor is literally a violently abusive person. So that’s not cool either.

Yang Mi’s character alone drives me insane. She has no common sense, no morals, no consideration for the consequences of her actions. She totally ignores her shifu over and over and over again. I really just can’t with this character.

Hu Ge and Lin Geng Xin are not the same person.

Suffering from post-Shenli depression. I’ve been looking around for another series to get stuck in. I was glancing through Zhao Li Ying’s dramas, and almost died when I saw the cast of Noble Aspirations! It’s filled to the brim with people who are stars now. I found it on YouTube.
