yeah i also noticed there's a lot of really strange attitudes towards SA in this show... techno basically leaving his friend to get molested in the first episode, tharn period, tharn and his family just being chill with his groomer, type's childhood friend making a jab about how he's "still so attractive to men", the whole fiasco with tar and lhong

the way this show portrays its gay characters genuinely borders on homophobia. so we learn that type's homophobia stems from believing that all gay men are sexual predators because of his childhood trauma... and then it turns out that nearly every single gay man he meets is a sexual predator. it almost seemed like this was going to be deconstructed with type's childhood friend who came out to him as gay, but then we literally never hear from him again. it's frustrating that type has basically zero growth as a character in regards to his prejudice. like in the end we're just supposed to presume that he's mellowed out since he loves tharn (even though at one point he outright says that he still dislikes gay people but just thinks tharn is the exception).

now while tharn and type do have good chemistry and it's easily the highlight of the show, the way they get together literally makes zero sense. so in ep 4 they have their weird IOU sex then by the end of that same episode theyve upgraded to fwb/"bedmates" out of the blue? i was genuinely wondering if id skipped an episode or something because there is no progression whatsoever between type swearing they'll only do it once and him inviting tharn into his bed again. and once they get serious it makes no sense that tharn would settle for his violently homophobic roommate of all the guys he could choose from. in general their relationship was tiring to watch. like episode 6 onwards was just: someone (re)enters the life of type/tharn > the other one gets jealous > they fight and/or break up > eventually they make up > rinse and repeat. it's like the writers couldn't think of any other sources of conflict.

lastly i really hate the way sexual assault is just used for shock value or as a plot point. coming from love in the air it seems like mame has a thing for gang rape in particular. there are also so many weird throwaway jokes and lines that it gets really grating.

overall really the only reason i kept watching was because of tharn's beautiful face. but im not sure i want to see the rest of what the tharntype cinematic universe has to offer if the rest is anything like this

i think worse than watching a show that is just straight up bad is one that *could* have been really good had it not been for the many, many questionable writing decisions... even to this day theres not many bl that follow explicitly and proudly gay leads so i thought ep 1 was off to a really promising start. i really liked when tharn said that he wasnt going to move out because that would mean accepting type's worldview that being is gay is wrong, and i think it couldve been really powerful to have a story about type overcoming his homophobia. instead what we get is just a mess. i usually dont have an issue simply accepting toxic/ "red flag" behavior at face value since i know what im getting into with these types of bl, but there are so many genuinely harmful stereotypes here that i question how some of it even made it to the final production.

i feel like the cover art and description promised a far more compelling dynamic than what was delivered... but this was alright i guess. highlights include the child actors and a couple cute moments (junxi is adorable), but as a whole i dont think this really brought much to the table, at least not that you couldnt find elsewhere.

i think this is definitely a possiblity because itd be a waste to let junho live and not do anything with his character. i feel like since we saw him spend most of s1 being the dumb muscle that everyone looks down on, he'll play more of active role in s2. at least that's what i hope haha id just like to see more of him

this is criminally underrated!! honestly, even if you removed all the bl elements i still think id like this, so the romance is just the cherry on top (including the gl side couple). In terms of pure enjoyment this could easily be 8.5+, but it's held back by the occasional confusing editing or dialogue choice (take a shot every time characters inexplicably switch to another language during conversation). also that awful english dubbing in ep 1... still i had a lot of fun with this and really hope a s2 is on the horizon.

is it just me or are the transition shots between scenes ai-generated? they are really distracting and really take me out of it every time. it's weird because the rest of the show seems pretty high quality and well made so i really dont get why they had to use ai. im all for low budget productions but this just comes off as low effort and trashy and it's really hampering my enjoyment

this was so comically bizarre im convinced it's meant to be some sort of parody. i just cant get over the scenes of the side couples going on cute dates juxtaposed with day torturing itt. sad theres no part 2 because i wanted to see where this trainwreck is headed

im conflicted about this one. despite only being 10 episodes it really felt like it dragged on at times with the repetitive nature of the plot. mark gave vee way too chances and 100% deserves someone better, but at least they have good chemistry together ig. their relationship felt toxic but not even in a fun way... im realizing i can only take so much of these doormat x muddy boots pairings. also as if the dubcon (only bc of the implication that vee was drunk as well) at the start wasnt bad enough, it's thrown back in mark's face several times as if it was his fault for being "easy"/slutty when he was literally the victim in the situation. overall this is far from the worst thing ive seen but a bit too soapy for my liking

he's really handsome. it's a shame he doesn't have more main roles. id love to see him as a ml in a bl drama or two 🤭

not my usual cup of tea but i couldnt stop watching this for some reason. sorn and jun's ''plot'' hard carries the show, everything else is pretty meh. the other couples are a snoozefest and theres also way too many random side characters and miniplots. regardless this is the type of show where you know exactly what youre getting into within the first 5 minutes so if thats enough to hook you you'll probably have a fun time. my biggest gripe however is how the synopsis seems to be describing a completely different story. you'd think it's an enemies to lovers type deal but sorn and jun are entangled with each other literally from scene 1 so it's more like fwbs to lovers. also i dont think sorn's age is mentioned but based on the others he can't be any older than like 25-27 so his whole 'I hate kids' shtick gets old quick like if jun is 21 you guys are literally in the same age bracket lol

i really dont think this is as bad an adaptation as everyone is saying. i mean if we're being honest the original thai version doesnt have the most groundbreaking story and you get all the same story beats here, only missing out on some extra fluff (but it also cut out the most cringy bits). overall i think if i ever wanted to revisit LITA id probably go for this version just for the better pacing and without the horrendous sound issues plaguing the original.

Knock Out has pretty good nc scenes

rain is definitely meant to be an airheaded character. if you really find it unbearable honestly you could just skip that part because the story is split in two, so ep 1-7 is rain and phayu and end of ep 7-13 is sky and pai. the biggest red flags are in skyprapai's story, rain and phayu are more cute and fluffy (though both male leads are equally possessive/aggressive to start). as a whole i think the show is a decent watch but the bike racing aspect is more of a side thing

this was a really good short. im always a fan of works that give insight into gay life in other countries, in this case following the perspectives of a couple gay youth who have dreams to live in seoul. characters felt believable and i especially enjoyed the friendship between the main three.

i cant believe this has such a low rating! ofc the production quality isnt amazing but the acting is decent and the script is coherent which is more than half of the stuff out there can say. i think this was delightfully absurd and over the top. i love how all the boys are inexplicably wearing jerseys all the time. the main actor does a great job being cute and creepy at the same time with that smile. overall definitely a fun time

this is definitely one of the better "red flag" bl ive seen though i feel like they hammed it up a bit the last couple episodes. i like how the mc wasnt a spineless doormat for once and the ml's toxic behavior isnt sugarcoated. also good chemistry (and lots of angst)

not as good as poongduck but this was pretty cute. i think this pairing has good chemistry so it's nice to see them in more dramas together
