The problem with most historic dramas is that after long episodes many of them have a tragic bittersweet or open ending which gives an unsatisfactory feeling. With so much unhappiness going on in the world, should not we see a happy ending at least in dramas ?
I never realised the influence of Hindu religion in the Chinese mythology until I watched this drama ; be it the Brahma mantras, or the Ohm symbol on the bottle which trapped the demon or the usage of sankrit words like Rakshasa, vamsham etc. You learn a new thing everyday huh ?
Throughout the drama which takes over a period of 3 years, the ML who is graduated from US never worked, I mean even the FL worked.Even when he knew that he loves the FL the ML never breaks up with the SFL . He is really a dumbass jerk and loser. But it was fun to see him pining for something he basically had in the palm of his hands. "Unmarry in haste and repent in leisure" seems to be the moral of the story.
I hated this drama. The ML was wishywashy, never really told the second FL to leave strongly. In the end also, she leaves by herself. On the marriage day, he jumped out of the window to see the ex. When the ex took a house next door, he was helping her set up the house. He wanted his wife to be poor so that he can be comfortable. Never mind that his mother and he were the people asking for marriage, they treated her badly. The mother did not support her enough. I felt the FL was better off with someone else. The only couple I liked was the younger sister. I wonder if there is an equivalent word for Patiwrata (it came from Indian hindu culture), for men.
The ML and the FL are not related at all. I am putting it out there if that is what is preventing you from watching this drama. I was not very convinced of the love the Ml had for the FL. I thought her blight date would have been a better choice for her.
I am really tired of chinese dramas where the main leads while in relationship with each other marries some one else out of the second lead dying and then stops with a less than happy ending. Why do they do that ? This one had potential but they wasted it.
