It's not stretching out the story, if anything I'm worried how they're gonna cover all the ground of the webcomic's story.

I think people are definitely not giving the drama a chance to explain, but I also think it missed several opportunities to get ahead of the criticism by explaining. Also, I do think the drama focuses more on her past lives, which is more interesting dramatically but makes the romance feel weirder. Speaking as someone who loves the webcomic.

Yeah, American shows lately are always try to add in cynicism or humor. They're afraid to be genuine with emotions imo

The drama is overall strong, especially for a drama adaptation of a webcomic (like look at Kiss Sixth Sense), but I do think the webcomic is better. I think the drama is adding a lot of things that mess up the internal consistency and make the romance weirder, even if it makes the story more interesting.

Yeah, there does seem to be some inconsistency. The webcomic didn't have her do all of these talents and things, so the drama is making it more complicated. Tbh I'm more here for the second couple anyway.

She's emotionally mature, but she's still not an adult. Age wise she was still only three years older than Seo-ha. Age is largely biological. She remembers her past lives, but that just gives her more maturity than someone her age, it doesn't make her literally an adult mentally.

Not really - even if you have all of your memories and knowledge, developmentally your brain is still your biological age. Like you literally can't teach a young child to do algebra because they don't have abstract reasoning ability.

Idk, I think a big part of the issue with Goblin was that the FL was noticeably much younger than the ML in both the story and real life (like the age gap between the actors). Also in Goblin it's not just the age difference but the particular age difference. There's a difference in developmental levels with adults and teenagers, so an adult with a teenager (even if she's 18) can still come across creepy. It's like a 16 y/o dating a 26 y/o vs. a 26 y/o dating a 36 y/o. In this drama the leads are both adults in their mid 20s and early 30s story-wise, respectively, and very close in age in real life.

That's what I don't think people are getting. It's not that she's the same exact person, it's just that she remembers the people she used to be. She will have certain aspects of her that are similar to her previous lives in terms of personality, skills, and knowledge, but it's not like she's an immortal being. As other comments have pointed out, there are many long periods where she isn't even reincarnated.

But dramas do that all of the time. The childhood love or childhood connection is a common trope. How this any different from a drama where the leads have a childhood love, are separated, and meet again as adults? She will find other reasons to love him, but there is still the affection she had for him when they were children. I don't see how that makes it weird at all.

It wasn't like they lost contact, though. He had a very traumatic experience and witnessed her being killed. And she was really the only one he had after his mom died. Of COURSE she's worried about him.
