Title Nothing but Thirty Spoiler
The fireworks company would be bankrupt already if the cheating husband had an average wife! Gu Jia made the connections…
Ikr! I never liked him from get-go and I even understood and empathized Chen Yu eventhough he's painted negatively in the beginning. XHS on the other hand, there's similar uneasiness I get from him and Zheng Xian (?)(Ni Ni's player ex- bf, I forgot his name lol). XHS doesn't have a grip on reality imo and his desire-driven self gets the best of him. I don't want to symphatize him at all albeit I know it must be quite taxing, ego-wounding to be with someone like Gu Jia — he tolerated a lot but to be fair, her sacrifices league whatever "okay" he's said in past. And she gets extra cautious when it's warranted — I laughed when he decided to keep those blue fireworks; he's sooooo dumb, shortsighted and muddled. He probably thought Gu Jia is hindering him from being a designer when in fact, she's prolonging his career, smh. I saw in sneak peak or was it a preview, that he'll ask for a divorce and sadly by the look of Gu Jia's expression, I think they're gonna patch up as well. And that tramp, she smeared Gu Jia's reputation and I wish Gu Jia would stomp on her "disposable, cheap dignity" in return.

Okay, anyone who've read the novel & seen YY's past gaming dramas, can you tell me in spoiler-marked post, how similar is Yu Tu to King's Avatar Ye Xiu? And I don't think he bears any shared characteristics with Love O2O Xiao Nai but if there's any, let me know as well :)

Title Nothing but Thirty Spoiler
The pretentious holier-than-thou duo needs to be exposed soon. Gu Jia doesn't deserve exhausting herself only to have her hardwork milked by her egoistic, pretender husband and his shameful, selfish mistress. Their masks have to lifted up and stripped off of their "comfort". Honestly, I hope the tables turn: GJ and XHS's firework company to somehow face issues, his career to suffer and her tea business to soar high. And she'll divorce him, settle score in regards to their shared fund and gain custody of their son. He's not qualified for a second chance at all. Even with the affair aside, he has shown to be opposing of her ambition and I bet he would very much prefer her to be "normal" stay-at-home mother. They had an agreement before and even if she's now allowed to achieve "something", he doesn't seem fully supportive and goes back and forth with his words. She sacrificed so much for his career and their family yet, he paid her with betrayal :( On the side note, I'm actually liking Zhang Zhi — although I'm not sold on this two, he offers contradictory perspective to our progressive Man-Ni and there's always room for compromise. And Xiao Qin, girl gotta hit that #girlboss button and start taking charge of her own life.

I want Gu Jia to beat that brazen amusement park girl to pulp during their face-off. That girl really overestimates and thinks highly of herself as if she's knows him, her and their relationship better. Coveting one's man is already one big red flag/deplorable but to say those things about Gu Jia? She's truly laughable. Also, as someone who have been with Gu Jia for so long, President Xu is sure dumb to think his smart and sharp-witted wife won't catch "things". Dude is married to competent, alpha fem Gu Jia for God sake. President Xu and amusement girl should really rot together but ugh Gu Jia has a son to think of. Dang it.

Poorly written but at least we got to see another episodes of Leo laoshi looking devastatingly beautiful in white and black yifu, his graceful martial arts, him looking superior with longhair and... those eyes and smirks. Probably can offset bit of disappointment?

This week eps were exceptionally good – the cinematography and its bg music, seemed like CF at some angles. Moreso with SSH in frame. And the plot direction, it's well built up. This drama and Oh My Baby freakin' re-ignited and brought me out from K-drama slump, I'm so glad I picked up this as well – we are bound to love and root our main pairing and can I have a meal with them? Or with LJH because his acting was on point o_O

Yunyi's makeup is absolutely horrible but that aside, I'd say her character is the saving grace of this drama AND I don't even like her to begin with.

I quite liked Garvey's potrayal of amnesiac Tong Hao and that's it. Acting overall is super mediocre (read: stone-y). Makeup and hairstyling are far from realistic and rather baffling. OST is okay-ish, no that I expected anything. And the plot is downright nonsense and...awkward. The characters? *looks at trash bin* Honestly, it's not even worth to talk about particularly Qianyu, Jinzhi, Caiyue and Shunming.

TL:DR don't bother giving this drama a go. You'd be wasting your time and phone battery life. Giving this 6/10 because I'm feelin' generous after those yummy, finger-licking deserts.

If you're hesitating due to its 'slow pace':

This drama, isn't the kind you'd watch to exactly kill boredom. It's there for you to understand the complexities buried under our clothes and that behind those smiles and indifference, there's a layer waiting to unfold. I wouldn't front this as 'romance', rather it's a lot more suitable to be shelved as 'slice of life' first and foremost. I've watched a slice of life drama progressing faster than this but in the case of WTWIF, I'd say the pacing is deliberately and neatly done to provide and help you perceiving and engaging with the characters better especially in regards to Eun Seob. Most 'slow-burner' drama is situational-based which oftentimes drags the main plot however, WTWIF centers and dwells on its characters and imho, the slowpoke-ness is needed to refine the whole thing.

That being said, I watch this in the morning with a cup of hot chocolate and admittedly, one hour does passing slowly but it's an hour of warmth.
