This is probably the most believable gender bender I've seen, Bai Lu is amazing at pretending to be a male, she's very beautiful but transforms into a very pretty boy and her mannerisms and voice plus her facial expressions are spot on.
It really starts out fluffy and cute, Xie Xiang and Gu Yan Zhen bickering and bantering are hilarious.
Gu Yan Zhen sometimes feels like the 2nd lead because of his happy go lucky, falls in love first, helps Xie Xiang behind the scenes which is common in second leads, I was already preparing myself for another SLS.
Main leads are so sweet, had great chemistry and Gu Yan Zhen's jealousy is just plain adorable. Xu Kai just so handsome here *drooling over him* Really shame that the chinese censorship had to cut 90 minutes main lead romantic scene, for the reason don't like relationship on the military. I'm mad! Thats KaiLu couple.. we want to see their sizzling chemistry!! The cut version already this good, just imagine how incredible the original with KaiLu romance.
Oh and I can't forget to mention all the eye candy in this drama!!! So many hotties in one place!
Also loved the comradery brotherhood and respect that grew between the soldiers and seeing everyone's stories developed.
I recommend in 100% Bai Lu and Xu Kai my favorite couple on screen. I hope to watch them both soon <333
