Have a question regarding the mask? What is it supposed to signify? How did he get it to her thousands of years…
I think the mask represents the constellation they both watched the last time they saw each other. He made it and then went to China (?) to deposit it somewherre, in a place he knew it would be found thousands of years later (probably not far from the place where he had his tent in modern times). That's what I deducted.
No those are not fanarts, They officially posted these photos on Weibo :)https://m.weibo.cn/u/6394760727This is…
Thanks for the link, at least we get beautiful pics. I had hoped those were from the DVD edition. I keep checking on Ebay to see if it's released soon. I mean, I was watching in august "First love again" and it's already out on DVD so there's hope for "Dear Diary" released for Xmas, right? I can hope.
Those pics are beautiful, are those fanarts that you made or are they official arts/pictures from an article or from the DVD edition (which I hope will be released soon!)?
Offering food for thought: the way the director explained the ending (based on the bonus episode, when someone…
thanks. I didn't see anything for the actress but I read some bits from the director. I didn't know about Ouygang and Jiang Huizhen being dubbed. God I hate that their real storyline was rewrittent his way because of censorship, what on earth could have been their real story???
Offering food for thought: the way the director explained the ending (based on the bonus episode, when someone…
Where did you read or see those interviews with the director and the main actress? But if the official ending (aka episode 24) was not the original ending, and we got the bonus episode, then yes, I think the original ending was better and clearer. Maybe the reincarnation was the ending and because of censorship, it couldn't be and that's why it was in that bonus episode which might not have aired?
At least, it was suggested even in the ending we got. With the original babylon King's voice heard while she was visiting Paris, about how he wouldn't be able to love her in his babylonian time but he will in another existence and she would recognize him. That's what happened in the bonus episode.
Maybe that's the answer to the bonus episode: it was the original ending but the censorship prevented it from being aired so it was shot but it didn't air? Because viewers really have to look for that damn bonus episode and for international viewers who don't speak mandarin, it's even more difficult to get our hands on it with english subs (good thing there are some nice people on the net willing to help, mille merci!)
Hey Xmag! You put my thoughts into words perfectly - also agree there's multiple interpretations. I like how FL…
It would be nice if Dragon Lady and her love interest were reincarnated too. I think they were, just as you said, we didn't get to see them. And if Dragon Lady was reincarnated, then so was her love interest.
Why? he died in his present, and only got to live in the past because he wrote in the diary about giving Dragon Lady a nice ending with her love (not ending up alone) and also because of the blood oath.
So they are a package deal, if one is reincarnated, the other is, too.
I wondered about scribe girl in Babylon times. Was she Chen Mei Ru in her past life? I mean, what are the odds of two ordinary 12 years old writing about the same prince and opening a portal ?
Also, I agree that the FL is still not over her "husband". 1 year is not enough and she is wary of falling in love again. Even if technically, it's the same "soul", or whatever, still, it's not the same person. Would he behave like the prince? Would he love her to death, be faithful to her, ready to protect her at any cost? he had a very ancient way of doing things, while now he is a modern man. A relationship with him would be vastly different.
Still, I think the ML in the bonus episode seemed to act instinctively to protect her from the woman who was about to hit her. He even said he doesn't usually do that, but he couldn't help protecting her. And then he wanted to know about her.
I think they will be in contact because of whiny SML and the FL's best friend and their relationship will develop from there. And who knows, maybe the ML will remember progressively their past lives. They apparently have those feelings which are definiterly inherited from their past incarnations. Now that the FL leads are back in their lives, maybe it will trigger their past memories.
For those who have seen the bonus episode, what do you think of it? For me, I guess it depends on my mood:
- If I'm in a good mood, it's a positive ending. ML, SML are reincarnated. They don't remember their past but it's a question of time, since there are glimpses of their past selves in their new incarnation. also the ML, after telling the FL in a previous scene that he wasn't interested in her, seemed more open to get to know her, asking her name in that hesitant tone, which bodes well for the future,
- If I'm not in a good mood, SML is too different (whiny, mama's boy hiding in her skirts AND behind the ML, crying, sticking his tongue..., ) and FL has realized that even if the pilot is MLs's reincarnation, he isn't interested in her in this life and her name isn't important to him, hence the reason why she doesn't tell him her name
Also, question: ML, SML and ML's father all got reincarnated but not Dragon lady and her love? Why, because they got a happy ending in the past (although living in those dangerous times, how long did their happy ending last? not for long, I think), it's a bit unfair, IMO.
We've been watching a young girl's dream. And we know nothing about that young girl. In the drama, her mother died giving birth to her and her father dropped dead after making the deal with Sariel to save his baby daughter's life. The ML's also gave his life energy for her to Sariel because he caused the car accident in which the FL should have died when she was 6. The doctor was her childhood friend.
Question: the REAL young girl, the one dreaming, was she an orphan, did her parents die and was she raised in an orphage ? Or did her mother died giving birth and she was raised by her father since obviously, no deal with Sariel? what about the ML, does he exist in real life and the young girl is crushing on him and that's why she dreamed of him?
Was she even in a car accident when she was 6?
No freaking idea because it was all a dream.
I could have created my own head canon had she just woken up and Amy was alive. I would have understood it as all the "energy" stolen by Sariel had been given back to the people who had died in a "first timeline". But the FL watches the camera, smiles and gives a slap in the face of the viewers by telling it honestly: "It was a dream".
Yes. If you don't watch the last two minutes of the last episode. Those last 2 minutes are the biggest FU to the audience I have seen in a loooooong time! I felt like: "Got you, I bet you didn't see that one coming, you dumbass".
Yep, I didn't see it. Not telling you what it is, you'll judge by yourself, maybe you'll like those two minutes.
it's quite surprising to see so many people here new to the world of family dramas / soap operas. how did yall…
I found this drama because of the ML. I love the actor in "Queen In Hyun's man" so I looked for his other dramas and this one interested me. That's as simple as that.
Bonus episode? Is that episode 24? There are only 24 episodes on dramacool.
Oh, damn, I want to see it! I hope someone will post it on Youtube or dramacool! I love this drama so much, I didn't expect to fall in love with this drama, it wasn't really on my radar so it took me by surprise. Kind of like "first love again", this summer. It was also a good surprise.
Can you tell me what the ending is? I don't mind being spoiled. If you can, I think the policy is to use "spoiler". I can't wait to see how it ends and it will be maybe 2 or3 weeks until it's finished translated.
Maybe I'm going to be crucified here but the woman, it looks like she exchanged her baby against a marriage promise.…
How do you edit? i mean, "piece of s*****". And by the way, I'm not a fan of the actor, I never saw him in any drama, not even his latest one. I watched the first 3 episodes because it was so recommanded but I wasn't into it.
I always say "characters are much better than the actors playing them". It's my mantra. Still, I'm sorry for the people who were his fans.
On top of that, the showbusiness industry in Korea (and in China too) is insane. Actors, singers, they are like slaves to the public and their agencies. They can't have private lives otherwise they get cancelled. It's crazy. I hope it will change, that's not human to live like that. Everybody needs connections, love, children, relationships.
Maybe I'm going to be crucified here but the woman, it looks like she exchanged her baby against a marriage promise. How can an adult woman be that stupid or naive? if a man asks you to abort and promises to marry you later on, chances are that he doesn't love you but only thinks about himself.
Still, I think the man is mostly to blame, a real peace of s****. But the woman... either she was so in love that she was ready to do anything for him, or she was so desperate to marry a celebrity that she was willing to abort.
Lots of potentials: adorable kid, good actors for the parents, interesting story... BUT, while I was watching, I was wondering if this mini-drama was some kind of experiment. Or if I was watching trailers for the episodes and not the episodes themselves.
Too bad, as I said, it had potential. It didn't live up to it.

I would definitely read such a fanfic.

In the end, she lost everything.
Too bad, as I said, it had potential. It didn't live up to it.
