I’d imagine someone taller (bc he’s supposed to tower not just Sakura but even his male friends) and with thicker physique… someone like Leon Lai. But I’ve never seen this guy act before so I’m keeping my mind open. Hopefully acting wise he manages to bring Nozaki’s character to life.

In the drama they showed the ML/FL watching The Day Of Becoming You (scene before Xiao Wudi got a haircut) and Moonlight (cinema date scene) and it just dawned on me they specifically chose them not only bc they’re iqiyi drama but bc they’re also stories centered on book/novel author.

Ep46 kinda made me dislike the FL-ML a bit. They could’ve at least waited until the banquet was over to march into the Luo family home and arrest Luo Ben, instead they did it so publicly. On one hand i understand the urgency to find General Cheng, on the other hand this a family where both the FL and ML have/had a personal close relationship with (Luo Yao, Yanji and even Ben himself) so I’d probably applaud them more if they took the higher road of waiting just 2-3 hours more, or better they should’ve just done it the night before the banquet right after they arrived at the capital if the sense of urgency were that high. But of course in cdrama everything gotta be dramatic and with LLTG nothing good ever comes out during a banquet.

Yeah i knew from early on it was a totally different story and not MRIAD’s sequel. Which is why i said i’m scared it will ruin MRIAD (hu yitian and zhang yunlong as a duo) for me since most of the reviews for Checkmate were quite negative ie it didn’t hold the same magic as MRIAD did.

And can they be the same person? 2) What’s the difference between team Excellent Era/ Blue Rain/ Tiny Herb and the guilds Excellent Dynasty/ Blue Brook/ Herb Garden? Does the guild tasked for recruiting new members when new districts open up and breaking dungeon records, while team is the one that got sent to esports tournaments?
gonna be an unpopular opinion here but i personally am really really enjoying this series! it’s a good amount of sweet (without getting too cringe), cute and angst.
The FL’s personality isn’t really likeable at the start, but I think that was intentional, bc on the surface she wasn’t supposed to be likeable. But personally she grows on me upon later episodes as we are shown more of the less mean side of her as she warms up back to Namcha.
But biggest shout out to the actress playing Namtan (Namcha’s sister) i really like her character and outfits!
I’ve been starring at Kim’s face along the first 2 episodes wondering where have I seen this guy before, until I checked mydramalist and wtf he’s the same person as Wayo from 2moons2???? I didn’t even realise they’re the same person, he used to look so smol. But i love the glow up!
