I read the manhwa and don't have any problem with the "new" straight couple. I don't care about what's happening…
That's exactly why most have a problem with the straight couple. Straight couples in KBL aren't new, but in this case has hindered the plot. Blame should be on the directors and screenwriters.
Loving this show a lot. Seung-won is so lovable and cares so much for Hee-su without being a pushover. I also…
I feel like they already did fuck it up. 6 episodes in and its still about Heesu's unrequited love. I genuinely think they could've done better by reducing the straigh couple's screentime(not totally removing them) and focusing more on heesu and Seung won's development rather than keeping it stagnant for more than half the series.
I did not read the webtoon nor plan to...with that said:As an avid BL fan, hence the name, unlike most of you,…
" BL fans get pretty lucky with not having to deal with hetero couples too much"
This shouldn't be the standard tho? Why settle for less? Do things get better when we settle for less? Should we be ok with BL not being mainly about BL? We shouldn't feel like its luck rather its a "GIVEN".
Its a BL, and holding it to a particular standard, and valid criticism of it ensures that Directors and screenwriters don't do stupid things like this.
U don't have to remove the straight couple, but they could've reduced the screentime for them. At this point I feel like the straight couple are costars which wasn't how the adaptation nor a BL should go about.
Mind u 6 episodes in and we are still in the "Hesu in love with Chanyoung" phase. The screentime for the straight couple could've been reduced and used for heesu
I hate how people are justifying the straight couple in this comment section. If a straight couple in a K-drama…
Some people talking about "NORMALIZATION" like bruh u don't normalize homosexuality by introducing a straight couple and focusing on "their" lovestory. U do it by having straight people who are supportive of their gay friends through actions or words. Look at thai BL and see how straight people help their gay friends, wave the LGBTQ flag, and don't care if they are feminine or the other stereotypes and fight for their gay buddies who gets insulted! This is what NORMALIZATION should be about! And not everyone is gay in Heesu! The show can be perfectly balanced with a 2nd lead gay couple. So many KBL's have done that already.
"... to emphasize that both gay and straight relationships exist naturally alongside each other"It's possible…
U don't show normalization of gay couples by introducing a straight couple and focusing on their lovestory. U do it by showing straight people who support gay people thru actions, words etc. So far it hasn't been justified at all. Now that person could have a gf but it doesn't have to be about their "straight lovestory" which has nothing to do with normalization og gay people?
"Managing multiple couples needs more screentime" Yet has been done before in KBLs and nothing new and done magnificently at it too. As for disrupting? nah that's a skill issue then. If they can handle a straight couple's lovestory they could've handled a gay couple's too.I just see excuses to be fair.
The first ep was pretty good from the acting to the production, even though the trailer was bland. However its kinda disappointing how the 2nd gay couple was switched with a "alleged" straight couple.
Some people here "justifying" switching the 2nd couple should understand that changing the 2nd couple to straight isn't gonna make straight people watch it since the ML is gay. That's stupid logic. Neither is the justification that there's "enough" gay characters so why add more. Which is why they should've just used a 2nd gay couple. But so far so good! Hoping for the best!
from a monetary point of view it makes sense that they added a straight couple to the mix to make it more "palatable"…
Here's where ur logic went wrong. Straight people aren't gonna watch a BL cuz the main character is gay, so technically straight viewership doesn't matter even if the 2nd couple was gay but they still removed it which is disappointing. Why would someone try to please people who anyways won't watch BL's by turning a 2nd couple straight?
Seemed like su hyeon was so kind to Daon before. Ig the 7 yrs really turned him to an pure asshole. But that's his fault. He naturally has that pent up anger and it prolly got worse.
Im confused if they did it or nah coz there's a pillow and blanket on the sofa
Idk maybe im assuming the worst, but considering the fact that he allowed su hyeon to kiss him and was lying shirt open? But then again there was another pillow and bedsheets on the couch. I genuinely don't think that su heyon is the type to stop considering his personality. I hope I'm wrong!!
Daon was prolly so scared that he felt the need to sleep with that disgusting psycho. ugh... my heart hurts for him. He's being exploited by his family, friends and now even his alleged "lovers"
I don't understand Jaemin. He did countless bad things to keep Daon by his side, but when Daon confessed his feelings…
Simple. Its all a game to him. He enjoys playing with people's feelings and him accepting Daon's feelings means he has to stop his fav metally ill game AND get murdered by Su hyeon. Jaemin is simply born evil.
For those saying Su hyeon and Daon needs to be together y'all need to be put in an "abusive relationship simulator". Also stop victim blaming when yall know that su hyeon will literally hurt ju seong and it won't end just there.

I do like the drama btw.
