ikr!! I just hate how wu fei dictates whatever is going on to that stupid tao. Idk what happens in ep 18 but after…
I don't watch trailers but I'm looking forward to Yang Hua's protective instinct coming out in full force. Maybe she didn't choose him randomly after all cos she never reveals all her cards, so I'm also looking forward to the revelations that come.

Istg if Wu Fei keeps telling her fiancé everything about the way they're handling the case, I'm going to lose my mind. I like her so much but she really needs to learn to keep some things to herself when she knows he's on the opposition.

I am still enjoying all things Qin Shi and her leaving out a condom wrapper to mess with Yang Hua's mother had me rolling. Yang Hua is still cute and the two of them are so good together. How lucky for Qin Shi that the random guy she chose as her fake husband is actually smart enough and capable enough to keep up with her and even help her out sometimes? Some people have all the luck.

I really liked when Qin Shi and Li Dai teamed up to shut down the two idiot criminal lawyers. I wish they didn't work in such a toxic firm so they could actually lift each other up instead of competing with daggers drawn for the one spot they'll allow a woman to occupy.

I like how the Queen uses the Dowager's moves against her. The old bat really thought she was doing something when our Queen was already steps ahead. I'm so glad she got to meet Cheong Ha and help her get into the palace. Sure, the wedding night was a disaster due to Seong Nam's misunderstanding, but I know they have time to clear it up and I know Cheong Ha will not let him go so easily.

This is turning out to be my favourite show of the month.

I disagree about the "noble idiocy trope". I found it hilarious how FL is in love with Shangqi for eight years,…
It seems there's some confusion. I've never said I don't see his side. I only said I see her side. I have defended him from the start of the show, if you've seen any of my past comments. I get why he did what he did, but that doesn't change the impact of his actions, intended or not.

That's why I keep saying this isn't me bashing him or being against him. I'm simply saying I understand Xiao Ran as well.

Another great episode! The Queen always has lines that leave me thinking about them long after the episode. Her speech to the young scholars was inspiring, and I loved how she comforted Bogeom and his mother after their disastrous partnership with the snake Dowager ended.

As for the intrigue... It seems Uiseong is not the son of the king and Consort Hwang's secret is now in the hands of the Dowager. That's going to be interesting going forward. It's also clear that their next course of action will be to murder the new Crown Prince. We'll see how that works out.

I think the Queen was subtly telling Bogeom to be the cohort of the CP so maybe that is how he'll find himself in the leadership role in the future.

Her nowhere going career? She was doing a job that she built for herself and one that he looked down on and everything she has achieved has been because of her own hard work and intelligence. I've never blamed him for anything except the things he did, like keeping things from her and breaking up with her because he decided it was better that way. I don't want to say too much but can we please kill this idea that her career is because of him. What did he do? Did he impress her boss on her behalf? She was the one who talked a man down from unaliving himself. She was the one whose investigation saved his dying hotel. Lol.

Again, I'm not picking sides. I simply said I understand Xiao Ran and I don't know why you think that means I'm against Shang Qi.

my theory on Yang Hua is that prior to the start of the story, he is a man full of passion and ambition who had…
I also get the feeling that he may have failed badly in his last job and caused losses to a lot of people because of potential profit, so now he doesn't take risks and just wants the bare minimum out of life.

I also wonder if we're watching the same drama cos I don't know what you're referring to half the time.

You say she didn't tell him what Fei'er was really like, but would he have listened when he was in love with Fei'er or would she just have ruined their friendship earlier? He's not a child so he should be able to discern when someone is being genuine or not which is what she waited for for 8 years. His poor judgement is not her responsibility and without actual evidence of Fei'er being a snake, Xiao Ran could not start something without admitting that she loved him.

Also, she was insecure in Hupu because she found out he was keeping things from her - a pattern of behaviour that often leads to a lack of trust. He constantly waited to tell her things until it was too late or just straight up kept her in the dark.

Plus, he always brings his personal feelings to work and even to her own job which is annoying and tiresome when you don't want to see someone.

Why was she in Wusu in the first place? Cos she messed up her exam after being publicly humiliated so she moved to get a fresh start. Why does she complain to Li Hui? Because that's her friend and that's what friends do - vent, complain, rant to each other.

He can say every reassuring thing he wants, but when his actions like lying, hiding things etc say differently, no matter how well intentioned (THE NOBLE IDIOT TROPE), it's going to lead to misunderstanding and lack of trust. An apology or explanation does not magically erase the very real feelings and heartbreak caused by his actions.

I've already said I don't know if they'll end up together and I don't mind either way. This isn't some sort of bashing of Shang Qi but rather me saying I can see why Xiao Ran would not want to be in a relationship with him right now.

Everybody and their pet goose knew Shang Qi had a thing for Fei'er when they were young and through college, so Xiao Ran wouldn't as his friend try to destroy his friendship with Fei'er and hurt him just so she could have a chance with him. That's why she was quiet for 8 years and wanted to make a confession after college so that they could start the next phase of their lives with a clean slate.

Also, by ep 32 she has told him outright that she doesn't want a relationship with him and he keeps invading her privacy and insisting they get back together which is why she said she would leave Wusu. She has every right to her peace and he doesn't get to put her down and pick back her up based on what's going on at the moment. She has decided to be friends and move on from trying to be in a relationship. That's not running away or living in the past and she doesn't trust him now because all the reassurances and words he's saying now were things he said before and then he broke up with her without a warning or explanation. I don't know what you're referring to about her treating him like a stranger when they moved in together because they clearly talked about their issues then too before he went to Hupu.

I think Xiao Ran simply does not stay where she isn't wanted. She admitted that the first time it was her misunderstanding, but this time, Shang Qi made the decision to end their relationship rather than tell her what was going on and give her the chance to go through it with him. He said they should break up first and she agreed because there's nothing worse than hanging on when you've been asked to leave (see all the hatred directed at Fei'er for her behaviour before now).

It's not the first disagreement or argument. It's Shang Qi keeping things from her and then deciding to break up without letting her even know what happened. She trusted him and had complete faith in him but from her POV, he didn't have faith in her or care enough about her (or them together) to let her fight with him. She loved him first and I believe she did fight for him until he said himself that they should end their relationship. Cos what else was she supposed to do? Abandon her life to chase after a man that said he didn't want her?

I can completely understand Xiao Ran not wanting to get back with Shang Qi for the reason she gave. The noble idiot trope is an annoying and illogical one for a reason, and this is the consequence of making decisions on behalf of someone else.

Zhao's downfall was really satisfying to witness and I'm so happy the Xiao brothers were able to defeat him decisively. No comebacks for that demon.

Li Hui really annoyed me the last few episodes. Who signs a recording contract without having a lawyer look at it, especially when they have the means to get it in front of a lawyer??? Sui Ming Wei has been right about her cockroach of an ex from the beginning and even before he knew that dirtbag was sniffing around, he asked her to let him see the contract and she just refused for... Reasons? Common sense is not common. I didn't feel bad about her music being stolen again but I thoroughly enjoyed her ex getting humiliated in public by Xiao Ran. I hope he steps on Legos for the rest of his life and he's always missing one sock and his pillow stays hot on both sides forever. I'm happy Li Hui and Sui Ming Wei stopped fighting again cos I love their friendship and I'm still hoping they get together and make each other happy forever and ever and ever...

As for Fei'er, I get that this is her redemption arc, but I stopped caring about her when she showed up and tried to use the documents as a way to get with Shang Qi. Good for her now or whatever, but I skip all her scenes.

With only 4 episodes to go, I wonder if there'll be another time jump and then a reconciliation or if this will end with Shang Qi and Xiao Ran as they are now.

Title Love Is for Suckers Spoiler
Quite typical of Chae Ri to blame everyone but herself for her own failures. She blames people for being offended when she's offensive and now she blames Yeo Reum for the show being a disaster when she's the one who brought on a conman "for spice". I've been waiting for some sort of explanation for why she's such an awful person but so far all they've given us is that she may have issues with her family but there are lots of people with difficult families who don't turn into massive jerks so I've decided to stop caring about her. I would say maybe she'll learn something if someone unalives themselves because of her but she would just go further into denial and use it for views too. She's an a-hole and she can kick rocks.

I hope Ji Wan knows to stay away from that conman cos he keeps trying to stay latched on like a leech. As for the new relationship, I saw a comment some time ago about the decision to have Chef Jang change his plans because the other woman has an ED and thinking about it, I do agree. They could've brought him and Ji Wan together without making it about someone else's disorder. It's coloured the potential relationship between Chef Jang and Ji Wan for me now.

Glad to see Yeo Reum finally confess her feelings for Jae Hoon. I guess they're moving forward now and putting all the ugliness behind them. I can't wait for them to leave the Kingdom environment and be human again. Sorry to Ji Yeon but she knew this was coming so hopefully she can pick herself up and move on quickly.

Maybe they'll explain in ep 12 but right now I don't get the point of the man attacking the cast and crew. It feels like Chae Ri PD got a hold of the script and threw in that nonsense to stir the audience up.

I've said it before and it's confirmed now that the guy going after Ji Wan is trash. I don't care if they try to redeem him later (I hope they don't and Ji Wan tells him to kick rocks) cos he's garbage for talking about Ji Wan's assault again. I wish he'd been the one to get his arm slashed in ep 11. He deserves worse for trying to capitalize off of Ji Wan's SA. Also, Chae Ri once again proves she's a jerk who only cares about views. I don't know what's wrong with her but I'm getting tired of the character constantly being an a-hole and everyone shrugging like there's nothing wrong with her actions. Someone should put her head in a toilet this time instead of just throwing poop water at her.

No comment on GYR and Jae Hoon today cos nothing much happened there apart from GYR slowly (so very slowly) coming to terms with her feelings for Jae Hoon. Maybe before ep 16 she'll actually admit she likes him. I'm okay with her taking the time needed to get to where she needs to be, but it's just slow going for now.

I've been wondering about that law firm culture of single women being unable to go up the ranks, too. It seems…
It's so toxic especially for a firm with a woman at the top. Their boss is in a position to make things different for women coming up after her but she chose to be an a-hole instead. I find it even more disturbing that it's a firm with so many women working there.

On She and Her Perfect Husband Nov 16, 2022
I think the culture of the law firm is so hypocritical and it's created an unnecessary rivalry between Qin Shi and Li Dai for no reason. The fact that they won't promote single women but also penalize women for getting married and having children is ridiculous and makes me want to slap the female partner anytime she comes onscreen.

The whole thing with Yang Hua's mother is so funny cos they're basically playing a game of chicken now and before they know what's happening it'll turn into a real marriage LOL. I wonder how long they can keep up the ruse now that Li Dai has confirmed her suspicions about Yang Hua, and what she'll do with that information. I'm thinking the fact that Qin Shi knows it was Li Dai's big mouth that got the firm in hot water may come into play.

I'm really enjoying Yang Mi in this drama. I LOL'd when Qin Shi took her shoes off and ran to the firm to stop Yang Hua's mother. This may end up being one of my favourite characters that Yang Mi has played.

in a trailer, i see a kiss between Li Hui and Sui Ming Wei, so i think they will be together, at the ending but…
Lol. But at least their relationship is established and even stronger than FL and ML. I don't mind it taking so long cos now it doesn't seem like a rebound thing. If they get together it won't just be because they couldn't be with their first choice.

That's true. I don't want her to step down but I can't help thinking Bogeom would make a better king. Maybe like /dancingorange said SN will get it and make way for Bogeom.

About the possible loveline between Prince Seongnam & Cheongha, I really hope that won't happen. I want Seongnam…
I don't really focus on the romance but after thinking about it, I think Seongnam needs someone exactly like Cheongha in his life to bring some sunshine into all the dark corners of his spirit. He had such a hard time growing up and now all this has happened. He needs someone to remind him of the possible joy and innocence of life.

On the other hand, I feel like the courtesan is good to bring stability to the other grand prince. Someone to make him take life a little more seriously and also save him from himself sometimes.

On Under the Queen's Umbrella Nov 13, 2022
I really like Grand Prince SN, but I don't think he's built to be king. I now get the feeling that he would do better as the CP's cohort and a good king's right hand man. He has so much love and compassion for the people that he would be frustrated beyond belief when he finds that he can't do everything as king. He would end up fighting with the politicians and ultimately just be unhappy and unfulfilled. On the other hand, Prince Bogeom would make an amazing king and with SN by his side they would be an unbeatable combo.

With only 6 eps left, I'm starting to wonder just how far this story will go for our gracious and compassionate queen. I was so happy to see her outsmart those schemers but the Queen Dowager is still the greatest obstacle. I'm also liking the king working with the queen to restore some order to the palace and limit the power of the politicians.

I'm looking forward to next week's episodes. I hope to see more of Bogeom and SN working together in the future too.

JaeHoon was spot on, she used his past as a "story" for the show, and even worst, his trauma too boost the ratings.if…
I'm so confused now because she didn't bring his past into it. She didn't start the rumour online or spread it. She tried to talk to him about it but he wasn't interested. He told Chae Ri the production could do whatever they wanted to respond after it got out of hand. Yeo Reum also didn't bring the boy to speak up, he sought them out. They had to clear Jae Hoon's name in front of the camera since it was already a public mess. If he wanted them to handle it a different way, he could've said that but he didn't and so he had to accept whatever came next.

It's unrealistic to expect the production to ignore such a serious allegation against one of the cast when irl people crucify celebrities based off of less and take down everything related to them when they think a celebrity "deserves it".

Also, she pushed him away because much like the SFL, he was asking for more than she was ready to give and it was starting to affect her job. She didn't ask to be kissed on camera and give everyone who knows about it the ammunition to blackmail her.

I already agreed that she should've asked his permission before taking the crew to his hideout so there's nothing more I can add now.
