Eps 5 and 6 are so good. I have the feeling they spent a lot of time next to each other and they have been fantasizing…
I'm starting to think it's not as set in stone as she believes.

The pregnancy announcement is finally upon us! I can't believe how long I've been waiting for her to make a dramatic declaration πŸ˜‚ Councillor Park has been quite disappointing in the last few episodes. Maybe the Queen Dowager is really his blind spot cos there's no excuse for him being so out of the loop.

I wonder what will happen to Lady Cho when the king makes his sudden but inevitable triumphant return. Maybe he'll let her go since this was all a plot anyway. Anyway, I'm glad the king is finally doing something significant onscreen but I can't deny that the last 2 episodes where he was unconscious have been the most enjoyable. Now that he's gotten justification to act out maybe he won't be such a snooze any more ☺️

This drama is funny but I have so many questions. Why didn't she report the stalker as soon as she found out? He had already taken it pretty far so I don't know how she felt comfortable with him just roaming around. Why didn't she call the police instead of going to the station? How is it that the chefs never once checked to see if their secondhand fridge was actually working? That's literally the first thing you do when you plug in a new device - make sure it actually works as promised. How did the policewoman not see the very obvious bruises on Da Hyun's arms? They were so prominent, I expected that to be the next issue with the police.

The whole neighborhood seems shady af, like Vincenzo with the building of criminals, so I wouldn't be surprised if there's more than one murderer living there. I think we all knew the body wasn't in the fridge any more so now we can speculate about who moved it. I did find it silly how they kept saying they needed the fridge back when all they had to do was move the body.

I kept waiting for Consort Park to announce that she's pregnant with the king's child or something lol. The Queen Dowager really needs a lesson on how to be a good villain, cos she didn't even wait to get confirmation that the king was dead before she practically announced that she had him poisoned 😭 a day or two to collect her thoughts again would've been nice so she didn't wear the ceremonial outfit just for the maids. I mean, what would it have cost her to calmly watch as the king she hates so much finally dies and then she can assume power. Rookie move.

I found it funny that Councillor Park was like "oh the queen dowager is leaving the palace incognito... no need to worry about that" after she practically announced that she would no longer be supporting his agenda. Also, how does he not know that the former chief eunuch now works for the Dowager? They introduced this character as someone who knows everything in the palace but he's just letting things slip now for no reason.

I think the show benefits a lot more when Consort Park has more to do and I'm looking forward to more of her scheming next episode. I just wish there weren't so many long, lingering shots of nothing but slomo stares.

She treated stray cats better than how she treated her son. From the recollection of Dong Seok, imagine being…
That last part. She could've been good to him even when no one else was there, but she chose not to. She could've even had a conversation with him in adulthood to explain and seek forgiveness before the terminal illness reared its head, but she chose not to. I can't even begin to imagine what her excuse could be.

I wish Dongseok would not forgive his mother. He is right just because she has cancer everyone is expecting him…
I know they're a small community and everyone is in everyone else's business, but they need to recognize that they don't know what's going on and stop making assumptions. They all want to be understood but none of them has asked his mother what she did to turn him into such an angry, bitter, person.

Once again, it's the "forgive this terrible aren't because they're dying" trope and I hate it. Has she ever apologized to Dong Seok for the horrible things she did and let be done to him? She may have thought she didn't have a choice when he was a child but pretending like it never happened now that he's an adult is just wrong. She looks like a kind old lady to everyone else but she was the one who made his childhood miserable and turned him into the angry, bitter man he is now. She doesn't deserve forgiveness but if he can use that to let go of the anger he feels, then I don't mind it.

I knew she was a terrible parent when they showed in the flashback how his step brothers beat him up and she just turned a blind eye. She didn't even try to comfort him just to make it a little easier for him. There are so many things she could've done to make his life just a bit better and at least let him feel loved, but she chose not to for whatever reason. If she was going to act that way then she should've kept it going until she eventually dropped dead.

I really love He Si's PR work πŸ˜‚ he's better than any social media campaign. I promised myself I wouldn't watch previews for future episodes but I couldn't help myself. Luckily, it looks like even though their problems will be frequent, they'll also be cleared up quickly. I look forward to their business being so famous that even the emperor hears of their greatness ☺️.

This is giving me the same vibes as The Autumn Ballad, right down to the sister who won't listen to good advice and then gets herself in an unfortunate situation. I'm enjoying it a lot so far, and I hope there won't be any unnecessary conflict over a man in this one.

I've been struggling with this show because I expected more from the king, but once I accepted that his character is the weakest here and put my focus on YJ, everything became much more interesting. I'd rather think of this as her story with him as a distant supporting character because each time he starts crying for no reason while proclaiming all the things he wants to do but apparently cannot, I get annoyed.

The cinematography is great, but this is supposed to be a character driven show and so far, only YJ has shown any sort of development. Even Councillor Park has been one note from the beginning, only to suddenly declare that he's the people's champion now and we're supposed to forget all the evil he's done? No thanks. I think the only other character I like is the Queen Dowager because she's doing a lot with very little and delivering quite well. I can tell she's trying to make the best of a position she never wanted and is trying to survive the only way she knows how. It's tragic but compelling.

Are Sing and Gap the second couple or sing and Rit?
I have no idea. They haven't been clear about that yet. Rit just seems unfortunate with no romantic ties to anyone.

I thought this was going to be a learning journey for Tol as well as for Tin, but so far, Tol has just remained the same in every loop and in spite of every interaction. They don't even show him being a reluctant a*shole to Rit so we can excuse it as peer pressure, so I have no reason to want him to survive beyond wanting Tin to get out of this loop so he can move on with his life. Tin's mission also seems to keep growing with every episode and I wonder if he will actually be able to accomplish everything they've set up - stopping the corrupt doctor and ending what looks like an organ trafficking scheme, and saving Rit and Tol (and now Fang).

I'm still very much invested in this show and I want to see how it all unfolds, but I don't like Tol right now and Tin doesn't seem to have learned anything about how to handle him in spite of the numerous loops. I think maybe I would feel better if we got more of an insight into who Tol is as a person before the end of each loop but it's still just surface level.

Really tired of the "I was a horrible parent but now I've decided to take part in my child's adult life because I may have a terminal illness so everyone should support me" trope that kdramas love to throw out. Why can't they just be bad parents to the end, or at the very least have some shame for their past actions? This idea that children have to make nice with parents who have treated them like dirt until it was no longer convenient to do so just feels extremely toxic to me. I don't care what life-changing event ESW may be going through, that doesn't give her the right to barge into Tae Sung's life and try to claim some sort of privilege as his mother. Should've remembered she was his mother when she was neglecting him. They may try to throw in a flashback of how she longed for her child blah blah blah, I'm not really interested. Even if there was a misunderstanding in the past, her actions in the present are inexcusable.

I would like Tae Sung and the lawyer to become very good friends, especially if they go the route of pairing the lawyer with OHB's best friend. Then they can have cute, competitive double dates together ☺️

It's 50/50 here so not entirely Muslim. But all sides got together and agreed to oppress LGBTQ+ people so it's not even a religious thing.

That's really unfortunate. I live in a country where being openly gay is very close to a death sentence so I guess I was hoping for more from SK.

Also, maybe it's just me, but it felt like the online post about them eating and the reaction from the *entire* school was a plot point from like 10 years ago. I know the world is always more conservative than we think, but I'm not sure such an adverse reaction is something we'd see in 2022, especially among university students.

I think Ji Woo falling for Ro-A is mirrored by Yu Na falling for Ji Woo - they spent time together, they're comfortable around each other, and feelings happen. It was kind of obvious from the start that Ji Woo felt something for Ro-A... I still remember how he got hot for no reason on their first date πŸ˜‚ and how he just kept staring at Ro-A whenever they were together. I don't think it's a sudden transfer of affection but rather just him getting the thing he thought he wanted - going out with Yu Na - only to realize it's not what his heart wants after all.

There have been a lot of not-so-subtle hints about Ji Woo liking Ro-A so I'm not surprised to see that when he finally gets a confession from Yu Na, it doesn't evoke the sparks and butterflies he expected. I think Ji Woo is really dense about romance (Yu Na had to literally spell out that she was confessing to him), so he probably didn't think anything of the very real butterflies and sparks he had with Ro-A until he had something concrete to compare it to.
