Story: The beginning of the series was definitely interesting. It was somewhat predictable, but overall still an interesting watch. The different stories that occur throughout were all again things that could be assumed and there was nothing about the show that really blew my mind. The actual ending scene was entertaining, but overall the last few episodes just felt weirdly paced and I felt more like the ending of the plot a few episodes till the end should have been the correct ending.
Characters/Casting: This is where the show gets the most points. The four main actors, specifically Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki were absolutely amazing in my opinion. The chemistry between them was literally radiant and I love the humor that they each share. While I haven't watched a ton of newer K-Dramas, the relationship between the two and the way that they joked with each other seemed like a fresh type of personality for asian dramas. This obviously leans into the script, but the somewhat sarcastic and light hearted way that the two joked with each other was captivating to me.
Overall: I'm more of a fan of Chinese dramas for the most part, so it's rare for me to want to rematch K-Dramas (though I've rewatched a few). I wouldn't put this on my list of have to rewatch shows, but in a few months or a year or so, I wouldn't be opposed to rewatching.

A bit disappointing
So I started this drama because of the ML after watching him in Vincenzo, (totally wrong reason I know) but hey.I especially liked the whole shirtless scenes of the guys in uniform (yes girl here is sucker for a man in uniform)!!! and the whole sweat scenes, but after getting over all of that, this drama started to drag on, the FL was a bit annoying, the idea of this character being an outspoken female doctor who cares deeply about her patients, coworkers, and boyfriend was fantastic, but the actor's performance was not convincing. Rather than all of the positive aspects of her character that I mentioned, this actress's performance made the character come across as petulant in a way.
I knew the actors who played these roles were together after some research so i though i would have witnessed the love grow and see how they fell for each other, I did have high hopes for their chemistry, but I was disappointed yet again. but their relationship growth was quite complicated, and I believe it was due to a lot of going back and forth in the relationship.
The ML was not so bad, but the cheesy lines were putting off at times.

total bs
This was my least favorite kdrame ever. The story was exceptionally boring and repetitive. Overall, this was a total injustice to the both ML and FL actors, who I both love. I really did try my best to keep an open mind, but had to really push myself to finish it. The storyline just got worse and worse. It's literally the same thing over and OVER again.A huge pain point for me was the flirting and then the sickly coy response to said flirting. By EVERYONE. They all seemed so detached from one another it was REALLY hard to believe anyone loved their partner. And when I say every one, I mean it! Like Onew's mini meltdown and then ghosting his pregnant gf? Who just brushes it off like it's nothing? Just...wtf?

ONE OF THE FIRST BEST DRAMA WATCHED BY BEGINNERS.
This is a DAEBAK drama wonder if this drama is popular and loved..I love the cast, storyline, the chemistry between the leads. I hesitated to watch this cuz I thought this only had action but it had it all..it is an unforgettable drama and a few days later I still could remember the scenes from this drama.. recommend it to all Kdrama watchers. After writing this review I found out that Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo were divorced ...it was shocking for me and they look good together, I hope they patch up and come back together to make another hit just like this drama...I hope the writer and director make another drama like this with the same main cast.
also, I would like to salute not just Koreans but all soldiers who fight for peace and sacrifice themselves for their country n also they have their story hidden and untold..#RESPECT TO ALL SOLDIERS AROUND THE WORLD..

This drama isn't overrated
So, I've read a lot of comments saying this drama is overrated and complaining about the storyline being too "boring". Now, this mihgt be my opinion but I honestly feel like this is one of the best dramas that has ever existed and if you and if you generally aren't into k-dramas that much, trust me, you'll find yourself hooked on this. This is very different from usual k-dramas, you don't find a k-drama talking about war, featuring blood or focusing on action as a genre in general.
The plot was amazing, k-dramas usually drag it so much you inevitably get bored at some point and end up skipping some parts of the show if not dropping it all together. Descendants of the Sun maintains a costant pace and not even a second could be considered boring as it's always filled with hooking moments and suspence which makes you wants to keep on watching the show even more.
As I was watching this series I took a moment to analyze the acting and if I told you that I got shocked... These are probably some of the best actors I've ever seen in k-dramas or dramas in general. They usually do too much and it always gets cringy at some point, mainly because of the female lead who just cries way too much or is simply annoying. And I'm not sorry for saying so because in my opinion, most dramas have always got the same damn plot. (Female lead bumps into male lead, love at first sight for the fl, she starts pursuing the ml, she cries at least 3 times in every single episode, at the end they get together and it's so cringe cause it's so unrealistic and they are just overdoing it too much with the acting). You can see that in Dots the chemistry between the fl and ml is pretty strong and you find yourself also hooked on the love story between the side characters. You find yourself in unison with the actors and you can clearly feel every emotion through their expressions.
The music is nothing else but perfect. When romantic scenes appear the music just fits so well, you find yourself smiling at the screen. And some of you might find those romantic scenes a little bit too cheesy but I don't think so. I like the fact that the ml and fl are straightforward with their feelings and the fact that their conversations are always full of inside jokes and humor makes the moment pretty cute and not tooth rotting.
If you are not that much of a fan of romance like me and are easy to cringe, I don't think this drama is going to be a problem for you and you'll find yourself enjoying it and actually feeling sad once it's over. You'll find yourself admiring the directing and longing for more cute convo scenes between the characters. Also, the English in this drama is literally perfect and before you starts judging you should remember that they are not native speakers, so if you feel like they are stretching way too much the words, they are really not. I had no problem understanding them and I really admire them for those English scenes.
I really recommend Dots and I didn't really know about he existence of the ml before, but after Song Joong ki's killer smile and blubby persona in the first episode, you can't really back out from the series anymore.

He's a soldier and she doctor ?
I like this drama so much!Descendants of the Sun is a beautiful mix of romance, action, and real-life challenges. The main couple, Yoo Si Jin and Kang Mo Yeon, had such a fun yet emotional journey. They were always getting separated because of their jobs he's a soldier, she's a doctor,,,,, but fate kept pulling them back together. Their love was tested by distance, danger, and duty, but in the end, she chose him. That decision made their bond even stronger and more meaningful.
The second couple, Seo Daeyoung and Yoon Myungjoo, were also really interesting. At first, it felt like they weren’t meant for each other, with so many obstacles in their way. But despite everything, they stayed loyal and finally ended up together. Their story added another emotional layer to the drama.
What I also loved about this drama is how it showed the real struggles of being a soldier and a doctor. We got to see how difficult and dangerous a soldier’s life is full of risks, sacrifice, and discipline. At the same time, it also showed the challenges of doctors who have to save lives under pressure, even during disasters. The earthquake scenes were so intense and realistic. It made me respect both professions even more and more.
With all the emotions, action, strong characters, and touching moments, this drama was quite interesting and unforgettable.........
One of the best dramas I've watched........

Story, comedy, emotions, story, this has everything.
When I saw the 21 pages of reviews, I thought I didn't need to make one. But here I am, because I can't get over this show.I won't say that this is freaking perfect, or anything, because it does have flaws, there were parts in the show I liked less than others, but I'll focus on the good points here.
The initial story is quite simple. A special force soldier and a doctor trying to find a way to love each other in the middle of chaotic evenments.
But it's well done. The introduction of the drama itself shows these colors. A serious / action based first scene, followed by a comic / funny one. This is a great description for the whole show. One second, you find yourself laughing / appreciating the leads, the next second you're crying your ass off. And it's reaaally nicely done. Even if I watched it four or five times already, I still laugh, I still cry.
This is taged as Action, Comedy, Romance, Melodrama. The action part is really good, the fights are insane, there's nothing to say on it apart than "this is freaking good". The comedy, I won't come back on it, it's nicely done. The melodrama tag isn't there just for the record. It really makes sense. And this is almost my fav part, I think. The romance is really nicely done. The way they try to find themselves, they try to make it work... It's not my fav part tbh, I can even say that now when I watch it I somehow skip the "only romance" parts. But I remember really liking it at first. And I still do! Just slightly less than the rest.
Yoo Sijin was the first role I saw Song Joongki in. And I fall in love in not even two seconds. Yoo Sijin is that character everyone can only love. And the haters just hate him for being perfect. He is handsome, funny but serious when it's needed, charismatic, a great leader, he takes care of the people surrounding him, he's hardworking, he knows how to do a lot of things, and is reliable in crisis situations. I don't think I ever found him annoying once through the entire drama.
Seo Daeyoung, on an other hand, is more secret, less talkative, more rigid. But still funny, caring, gorgious, and loyal. We need more bromance like this in kdramas.
Yoon Myungjoo is this slightly annoying character you can't help but love. She's a little bit arrogant, but talented, really directive, but also caring. Her rivalry with kang moyeon is really funny, and her love story is insane.
Which leads me to Kang Moyeon. My less favorite character in the lead cast there. She's intelligent, beautiful, loved bby everyone... but indecisive, and sometimes it annoys me. I understand why she acts like this, but I can still remember two or three scenes where I really wanted to shake her a little bit.
The musics are legendary. If someone still doesn't know them, you've been living in a hole I think, because I knew half of them before even beginning the drama. No, that's a great bunch of OST we have here.
I don't know if there's more I can say without spoiling everything. And this isn't a drama that should be spoiled tho.
So just... take a great breath, sit down, and enjoy the ride. Because this is gonna hit you hard.
