In a world full of predictable police dramas, Ouroboros quietly stands apart. It’s not flashy, but it has a heartbeat—driven by the raw, complicated bond between Ryuzaki Ikuo (Ikuta Toma), the quiet, almost gentle policeman hiding a simmering obsession for justice, and Danno Tatsuya (Oguri Shun), the magnetic gang leader whose charm masks a calculating mind. Their friendship feels lived-in, fragile, and uncomfortably real—a loyalty forged in pain that is as beautiful as it is destructive.

The series can be slow, even meandering, but those pauses let the small moments—glances, silences, small betrayals—land with weight. Its moody visuals and understated music perfectly echo the tension and melancholy that define the story. The ending is stark and inevitable, refusing easy comfort, but it feels earned, painfully so.

Ouroboros isn’t perfect. It falters in pacing and occasionally leans on clichés. Yet in its best moments, it captures something rare: friendship as destiny, loyalty as both gift and curse. 7.5/10—a flawed, yet deeply memorable drama.

I don't know why this is scored so high, or why people give it 10s.
from my opinion, most of the acting was forced and cliched, and the ending sucked ass. How can what they did be regarded as " not doing the wrong thing till the end" when immediately after he did the wrong thing. I don't care if it's fiction or not, If they do an ending like this, then they're not even trying. I haven't read the source material, but I hear it's the same ending as well,so i won't bother.

Overall: A Waste Of Time.

Unfortunately, despite the cast and the cool ending I read about (I enjoy dark/sad endings) I couldn't finish this.First of all,Ikuta's acting kind of spoiled the begining for me,since he does tend to overdo it whenever there's comedy envolved. As a result I his character was either acting like a clown or like a depressed murderer which I found strange and confusing in this particular story.Second and most important, the story was too boring with endless melo flashbacks of the same scene that I just felt like skipping all the time.Oguri on the other hand was a perfectly convicing member of the yakuza,so much so that I still have a hard time seeing him in other roles (it is more about the general look though and not just the acting). The shooting style was also the more natural type you'd expect from a jdrama, which is very refreshing coming from korean dramas but it wasn't enough to keep me on board.
