Dalja's Spring Episode 14 Reactions
it's nice to see Sean Joe's BD supportive of her decision...it looks like there's still little something between the big exec guy and his (ex?) wife as well as Dal Ja's mom and the main guy's dad. Strong desire coming from all angles (and between many of the characters), strong themes of marriage and what it means to stick it out (or not) , and a nice suddenly very STEAMY interaction between Dal Ja and her man...thoroughly enjoyed

I got so mad listening to Sae Do talking about Soon Ae's situation. What do you mean Dal Ja is putting all the responsibility on the man?? His wife looks after their kid, works, and is carrying their second child! I'm sure she does a large part of the housework too. How, exactly, does he have all the responsibility? Isn't it Soon Ae who has all the responsibility right now? Isn't she the one who's carrying the entire household, on her back and in her belly right now??? Maybe there was something lost in translation, but I just thought that was too ridiculous. So he's upset that his company was restructuring. Ok, sure. But does that mean you can just take off, just like that, and be completely out of touch? When your wife is pregnant, and you have a child, and the only one working and earning an income is your wife??? And for two weeks at that!
And then later, he says he'll follow whatever decision Seon Joo makes but then gets upset at her when she tells him the decision he doesn't want to hear! If he were actually supportive, he would've prepared himself for both eventualities, especially knowing Seon Joo's personality. Also, who does he think is having the hardest time with this decision? Him?? Of course not! The one whose career and image is on the line for a child she didn't want and a man she can't rely on and doesn't even know if she loves yet!
I get that this episode was trying to show how amazing women can be, but in my opinion, there weren't quite enough defenses of our female characters' behavior, nor enough support shown for them. I know that in Seon Joo/Sae Do's case, there was quite a lot he had to deal with too, since news that you've impregnated someone comes as a shock, but if that's the case, have an honest conversation with her about how you want to keep the baby or why they aren't trustful enough to have the conversation they needed to have or even that you want to abort the baby. Don't say you'll completely trust and go along with her decision but then fly off the handle when she goes and tells you.
