Not only am I very interested in the male and female leads, but I am in love with the side characters! I'm intrigued by them. Especially Seol's friends. I love how integrated they are in the story so far and hope it continues. I love how they still have actions and functions when Seol is "thinking" or not there. It's great and I look forward to seeing them be part of the story.
So far I like Seol. She's a hard worker. She has a strong enough sense of self not be taken in. While she can still be bullied, I like that she sticks up for herself. It's exciting to have the potential of such a female lead!
The acting is solid all around. Visually the show is stunning, the writing is clever, the music is nice, and I like the wardrobe so far. It always tickles my fancy when each character gets their own distinct look and I like they're style.
What I like is that this first episode is solely setting up the present day story. No flashback--well it could be argued but it's a linear story being told so I'm not going to call it a flashback. I'm curious what Jung has planned. To me it seems like he was uninterested in Seol and wanted to make her suffer. Then became intrigued and now likes her. In his own twisted way. I'm very curious about getting to know him more. I also like that not all of the characters are completely introduced in the first episode. We get a feel for a few and a rough introduction to some others.
All in all a promising start!
