At first, they may seem different: Love O2O, being focused on gaming and college life while It's Okay, That's Love, being more focused on psychology or healing.

However, after watching both of these great dramas, I'd say they somehow share a similar vibe, which may be because they both have:
-natural yet off the charts chemistry between the leads
-strong and mature relationship, where both sides support, respect, and trust the other person through thick or thin
-skinship and kissing scenes (or fluffy moments, in general) enough to make you root for the main couple (although IOTL is a lot better and intense on this one)
-admirable character and/or couple development (the lead/s definitely exhibit growth throughout the episodes which further helped strengthen their relationship)
-happy and satisfying ending

*there are probably more similarities, but these are all I could think of right now.

The chemistry in both dramas between the leads are sweet/adorable and made me root for them, though Love O2O has less obstacles.

The leading man, in both dramas, is sought after by many women but he show zero interest in any, until he meets the leading lady, who is like a breath of fresh air. The leading lady, in both dramas, are adorable, energetic, and independent.
The leading man is decisive and is the pursuer. Since the leading men in both are irresistible, the leading ladies fall easily for their good looks and charm.
Even though Love O2O is not a fantasy drama, it does have a fantasy element, with the video game they play. The game element also allows this modern day drama to include a bit of the traditional Chinese clothing and hair styles.
Main differences: Be aware that in The Eternal Love there are some really cheesy special effects. The Eternal Love has a backdrop of Royal politics/Sorcery.
Love O2O has a back drop of social media/College-life/business.

Xiao Nai is a gaming expert who, courtesy of his basketball skills, academic excellence, swimming talent and game company presidency, also happens to be the most popular student on campus. When he first comes across the gorgeous computer science major Bei Wei Wei, the infinitely talented wunderkind immediately falls in love. But it’s not Wei Wei’s looks that he notices; it’s the ridiculous mastery with which she is commanding her guild and owning everyone in an online multiplayer game that makes her impossible to forget. Now, Xiao Nai must use his skills both in real life and online to capture the adorable but dorky Wei Wei’s heart. But does their love have the XP to succeed, or will this relationship never level up?

Both modern C-dramas feature a mature, mutually supportive and heartwarming relationship between the leads. They face potential misunderstandings and relationship challenges by trusting one another, rather than with tropey fights and breakups. The genres are somewhat different (Love o2o has more light silliness interspersed with the romance while Forever is more sedate and focused) but both will have you smiling throughout.
