Watch this for the beautiful well portrayed romance, but if you're looking for an intricate plot you won't find that, the main point of the show is the couple and their explosive chemistry (they're such an otp!). This is a well executed romcom with some sad parts but nothing too depressing.
I liked how the show promoted being healthy and the most important beauty is the beauty of being healthy inside.
There was a lot of enjoyable romance scenes which were not too cheesy or cringy. There was no annoying love triangle.
The side couple may seem like bad people at first but you'll like them at the end.
The relationship between the three guys was really cute and bromantic.
There were some things I didn't like of course, like when she found out that he was a chaebol and got mad at him for no comprehensive reason or how he didn't want to see her or communicate with her the whole year he was in the hospital and getting treatment, also the last episode was kinda weird and the ending felt a bit rushed but I could overlook that and enjoy the overall show.

I would have to agree with other viewers about the number of flashbacks in this drama. At some point I found myself thinking "yes we know", LOL My favorite drama of 2016 so far.

SOS
This is a nice mature romantic comedy. The 2 leads have sparkling chemistry and ping off each other as all great comedic pairings should! She's strong & feisty, he's sexy with a disability. Not the usual in Kdramas, here male & female are equals. It's so great that Hyperthyroidism is addressed in the show, as a fellow sufferer I can relate. Mr Sexy...SOS!!!
I can tell this series is written by a woman as there is a lot of wish fulfillment going on!
This series could have gone up to 12 episodes & worked. The last 3 eps are fluffy filler not much going on and waaaay too many flashbacks. The OST is top-notch! I'm loving that ringtone very catchy! There are some genuine LOL moments, more at the beginning. But ooh this pairing is too cute & funny.

The very definition of a romantic comedy
I loved this drama so much. The female lead was endearing, the male lead's charm.was devastating and the group of friends is extremely funny. What I liked about the couple was that they didn't act like in most shows with unnecessary drama : they were adults that knew what they wanted. I had fun watching this masterpiece and I rewatched twice since.
The only episode i didnt like was the one in which coachenim is away.
I strongly recommend this, for all my beautiful ladies

The 2 main leads carried this drama. I liked So Ji Sub in "Master's Son" but I LOVED!! his character in this drama. I don't think a personality like him exists in real life, but I guess that's why I am thankful for dramas. His character Kim Yeong Ho is the capable and tough protector that those close to him all depend on. But he also shows a vulnerable and sexy side and an unwavering devotion to the woman he falls for. I really liked Shin Min Ah as Joo Eun too. Her character is bright and cute and is a good match for Yeong Ho. Their relationship is reciprocal and caring and you can feel why they love each other. Together they elevate an uneven and cliche-ridden plot making this one of the more pleasurable and easy to watch shows I've seen. This caused me lots of missed sleep this week. I easily watched the whole thing in 4 days.

I think both the actors So Ji-sub & Shin Min-a had such good chemistry together, and I loved how they both just helped each other through everything!
But, I did think Yoo In-young in the show was sooo skinny! I don't know why but she was such a evil character but I think she was a bit too skinny!
I loved Henry Lau & Sung Hoon! They both made the show really funny. the side, wingmen always helping out in whatever way!

Also, I really loved that the weight loss achieved by Joo Eun was realistic, reasonable, and done for health reasons, not vanity or vengeance. I think it really delivered a great message. Especially since her weight issues derived from medical issues and lifestyle habits, not out of pure laziness (which is something people may say to overweight individuals without knowing the entire situation or considering other factors).
I would recommend it to anyone who wants a light drama, with good laughs ("hey ma'am!"), sweet moral lessons, an amazing OST, and a steamy romance. AND I would absolutely watch again. I actually find myself watching clips from it often because it was so entertaining.

"Oh My Venus" is a romantic comedy about Kang Joo Eun. When she was a teenager, Joo Eun was the most popular girl in school, her beauty impressed everyone, she even was nicknamed Daegu Venus, but when she became an adult, she ended up letting her weight increase and before she knew it, it was out of control. One day she meets Young Ho on a plane trip, he saves her and their lives become intertwined from that moment on, as Joo Eun asks Young Ho for help to lose weight and get her old appearance back. The story is light, fun and easy to watch. The romance between Young Ho and Joo Eun is very cute, it matched the pace of the story very well. I didn't expect anything too passionate because So Ji Sub is not that good at very intense romantic scenes, for the style of the drama he was perfect, since Joo Eun was the more extroverted of the couple.
Soo Jin is an unnecessary character, just like Joo Eun's ex-boyfriend, Woo Shik. The two of them don't really serve the story, especially since watching them become a couple isn't something that interests the viewer.
I liked it because the drama focused a lot on Joon Sung and Ji Woong, Young Ho's two companions, since they became friends with Joo Eun. The romance between Joon Sung and Yi Jin is very cute, it's really hard not to like her and I have to applaud her persistence in trying to make him fall in love. HAHA'
The drama's only mistake was that it didn't show Joo Eun gradually losing weight. She was chubby at the beginning, clearly wearing clothes that were bigger than she should be wearing, but then suddenly in episode 5 she had basically lost all the weight. It seemed like there was no more purpose to her weight loss process from then on, because she had already achieved her goal. That's why I think they should have extended this more and there was also no remarkable moment showing that she managed to lose weight. They decided to follow a more natural path in this part, but honestly I wanted to see a scene focused on this, it was important to the story, even if it is somewhat cliché.

Story:
A plot that speaks of an important subject, in a light, positive and relaxed way. I liked the fact that they fled aspects that appear very much in k-dramas: violent/abusive attitudes. Perhaps these are common features in Korean culture, but for someone on the other side of the world, slapping faces, humiliations (in public or not), bosses / family / partners who yell, pull on the arm, push ...is not good to watch (for me). THEN, I find it very cool that this drama doesn't have in its plot the typical line of the poor girl / naive / half dumb + the arrogant / abusive chaebol, nor have a super restrictive family that does everything not to leave the girl with the heir, and try to marry him at all costs with another ... things like that. In my opinion, the drama already deserves a very high score for this.
Negative point: Possibly, due to the Korean beauty pattern and the pressures of the society, the person can not "feel" beautiful and well, or be healthy, being chubby. I felt the story put it can only be healthy by losing weight. Of course there are cases and cases, but thinking about the side of someone who lives healthy and feel beautiful, and yet has the "big" body ... this person can get angry watching this, due to how the story deals with the theme .
Acting/Cast:
Just great! The chemistry between the main couple, and the secondary ones. Overall, it was quite natural.
Music:
To me, is the is the smallest score. Not that the OST was bad, just not remarkable. Writing this review, I cannot automatically remember any of the drama's music and that's the point. Other dramas, when I think of them, some of the songs soon begin to play in my mind. With that, it was not so..
Rewatch Value:
Worth it. When I am stressed, needing to see something that enlightens my spirit, and retake this drama ... I don't disappoint.

It had a brilliant cast, with So Ji Sub and Shin Min Ah nothing could go wrong. I love SJS and was amazed by his acting in this drama, I really think his acting has grown since the rigid acting in Master's Sun. Also there were a lot of hot moments with SJS in this drama, which I was over the moon about! (;
At first I didn't like the idea of shin min ah with SJS since I loved him with Gong Hyo Jin the most, but wow these two blew me away with their chemistry! I guess that's why they won best couple award. Also Shin Min Ah is an amazing actress as we all know.
The story was funny and kept me wanting more however there were a lot of times where I didn't know what the writer was doing, or how things tied together. E.g the random stalker. But overall the main plot was good. Strangely enough the secondary couple and plot was all over the place and felt very separate to the main plot. Usually their stories are better developed but the main cast and story dazzled in comparison.
I will definitely watch this drama again, in fact I already find myself missing it.

Oh My Venus: Good cast, but a questionable message
I didn’t enjoy seeing how the relationship is built on shaming and making fun of her weight. While the drama tries to promote a message about living a healthy lifestyle, I don’t agree with the way it delivers that message—especially when it comes at the cost of humiliating someone for being overweight.I wouldn’t recommend this drama to anyone who struggles with their weight, as it could easily feel offensive or hurtful.
That said, I do love the actors. I really appreciated the beautiful friendship portrayed, and of course, the love story had its sweet moments.
I usually rewatch dramas I enjoy, but this one—I’ll be locking away for good.
