Both dramas with a FL romance with a prince and palace intrigue going on in the background.

In Moon Lovers, the FL is trying to avoid palace intrigues, while in Perfect Crown she's driving herself there.

Both beautifully directed and acted. Great chemistry between the leads.

It seems both dramas represent same period in history. Also, never ending throne war is a common point. My Country gives me same vibes as Scarlet Heart Ryeo.

When a total eclipse of the sun takes place, Go Ha Jin is transported back in time to the start of the Goryeo Dynasty of Korea during King Taejo's rule. She wakes up in the body of the 16-year-old Hae Soo and finds herself living in the house of the 8th Prince Wang Wook, who is married to Hae Soo's cousin. She soon befriends several of the princes and meets the ostracized 4th Prince, Wang So. Although knowing she should not get involved in palace intrigues over the succession to the throne, she inadvertently becomes a pawn in the struggle, as several of the Princes fall in love with her.

Both are historical dramas. Both have very intense romances between the leads. Both are tragic dramas. Highly recommend both, as long as you're prepared for the tears.

Destructive Circumstances: In both shows, the romance cannot exist in a vacuum; it is constantly threatened by war and bloody political power struggles.

Profound Emotional Angst: The narrative focuses heavily on the theme of star-crossed lovers making immense sacrifices for one another against the backdrop of an unforgiving royal or historical era.

Actually it is not a historical period drama like this one yet you can watch it if you hate the end like me. Indeed, Scarlet Heart 2 is the second part of Scarlet Heart chinese version. In this version , you'll see the two main leads in the 21st century.

the story starts different then this as this story begin when the eclipse of the sun takes place, a 21st century woman, Go Ha Jin, is transported back in time to the Goryeo Dynasty of Korea. She wakes up in the body of 16-year-old Hae Soo, a noble lady. In the beginning hea soo befriended some of the princes of the kingdom. She faces multiple hardship, and fall in love with one of the princes. However, a rivalry starts between of the princes because the fall for the same lady.

During the Joseon Dynasty, a young woman named Hong Chun Ki is a painter – a true rarity in Joseon Korea, where Confucian values dictate that such pursuits are unsuitable for a woman. She was born blind but somehow managed to acquire a sense of vision. And now she has been accepted to the most prestigious art college in the land. One day, she meets Ha Ram, an astrologer whose fate is the polar opposite of her own: Although he was born sighted, he lost his vision in a childhood accident. Regardless, he is also in possession of an astounding talent that allows him to read the future by tracing the movement of the sky at night despite the fact that he is blind. The duo is sucked into the machinations of the royal court, particularly those involving two princes, the free-spirited Prince Yang Myung and the cruel, scheming Prince Joo Hyang – a man who longs to become the next Joseon king.

Both are period dramas with a palace backdrop and lots of political backstabbing.
In both cases, the FL has many suitors

The ML is a tad toxic and a manipulative bastard. Both feature a good amount of wrist grabbing and semi forced kissing

The FL comes from the future (distant or not so distant ) and uses that knowledge to survive

brothers fighting each other to become the next Crown Prince...
male leads falling for the "odd yet charming" female lead...
Wang So in both dramas are excellent fighters and were raised apart from the rest of the "family"...

Its another version of Bu Bu Jing Xin which was produced earlier than Scarlet Heart Ryeo. It was a movie shortened compared to the C-drama or K-Drama.

I would say rather than similar, they contrast quite a lot. While Moon Lovers has a darker and more complicated plot, Love in the Moonlight is just what you would like to watch after crying because of Episode 20 of Moon Lovers. It will make you smile because of the cute love story, though of course, you will also cry.
