It's a GREAT one!
I watched it for the 5th time and I still love every sweet and heartache moment! The FM and ML were amazing! The ML is totally sexy...the way he kisses her...it's a WOW... The second FM and ML were awesome too! They eventually had another drama together but I wasn't a fan of it.Beautiful songs and well-made drama! There were lots of cute moments and touching scenes that will make you tear up! I love dramas that involve marriage, pregnancy/child, separation, forgiveness, regrets, amnesia, sex, great kissing, reunion, possibly deaths. This drama is a FULL / COMPLETE package of what you want in a romantic/touching story.
Don't miss it! You will LOVE the story!

Great Romance, Boring Villains
Eternal Love, or should I say, Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms is something new and unique I've seen in a romance drama and it's my first time seeing this type of genre being played here. I have to admit, I haven't seen love stories as shows I've seen nowadays have it more as a tag and only plays some part in the story and not as a whole. While this one is also adapted from a novel, the novel itself is plagiarized from a BL novel which kinda reduces my enjoyment from it. However, I just go with the flow and accept it as it is and judge on the show itself. As a person who usually prefers character-driven dramas and would sacrifice my entire existence and soul to characters whom I love, this one does not do their justice here. I find most of the characters here really mediocre and unfascinating besides Bai Qian. Not that I dislike them, it's more of that I don't vibe with them. I do enjoy seeing the side characters but at the same time, nothing much really. Mo Yuan is gone 90% of the show and I wanted to see more of him but NOPE. Ye Hua is a great husband and I admire his love for Bai Qian, but then I feel like that's just it. It must have been because of the repetitive plot all the time there that made me lose interest and I find myself hard to connect with any of them. I expected more from that part and sadly their character-wise are not to my taste. I do not find the humor to be funny but that's just me.
The best part of the story for me is the love story between Bai Qian and Ye Hua. The romance is done well and both of the actors and actresses act out well. Although there are one or two parts that bothered me with Ye Hua just trying to force himself to Bai Qian which is wrong but other than that I love it. I have to salute to the actress, Yang Mi as she manages to play three characters with three different personalities perfectly, from the young and mischievous Si Yin to the sweet and kind girl Su Su and lastly, the goddess queen Bai Qian. Mark Chao also has done a good job playing both Mo Yuan and Ye Hua. But then, I am not keen on his character compared to Bai Qian. His outfit in the last episode when he finally reunited with Bai Qian is hideous as hell, who even made that design and letting his hair all down that made him look like Sacred Riana from Asia's Got Talent. Geez.
However, I don't care so much for the 2nd love story between Feng Jiu and Di Jun. Initially, I thought it's cute to see Feng Jiu trying to chase Di Jun but halfway through, their love story bore the hell out of me. Not to mention how their relationship never really progressed throughout the story, they still are the same before, during, and after the relationship and that's where I lost it. I actually prefer the other one between Yan Zhi and Zi Lan. Sad they never worked out in the end. I don't mind filler stories if they are interesting for me but the love stories between the 2nd lead couple were just meh for me. I've seen better.
My eyes did a 180 at the villains. The villains here are your typical and stereotypical cliche women who can't control their hormones and be crying their way out because the love of their lives is head over heels for Bai Qian and Ye Hua. Not to mention how one-dimensional they are. I would say that Xuan Nu is definitely better than Su Jin as a villain. Su Jin is one of the most annoying villains ever and it's so satisfying when Bai Qian finally got her eyes back from that devil. Su Jin feels more like a ghost tribe member compared to Xuan Nu but both are just annoying and I feel like vomiting when mentioning their name. Qing Cang is even weird, the show can actually survive without him and him playing as a villain (who's basically sealed in that gigantic Dong Huang bell for thousands of years) is more of plot props and nothing else really. I expect more from that. I've seen villains like him in other Chinese Drama where they all crave power, and it does affect the story a lot and some are actually entertaining to watch but this one doesn't do much.
To conclude this, I do enjoy watching it and the 3rd arc of the show is the best for me. If I'm ever gonna rewatch it, I'll skip some scenes since I couldn't care less about them. Come here for the romance, not for the villains. That's all.

This is so good!!
No waste episodes. The acting, the plot, the costumes, the CGI and overall aspects are so damn impressive. The story is full of heartaches but it's worth it in the end. Such a happy ending.
I wasnt a fan of Chinese Dramas before but after watching 1 chinese drama with xianxia drama, I became curious about cdramas. And now I am loving cdrama as much as i love kdrama. Cdramas are so entertaining too.
I highly recommend Eternal Love!

Story: The story went along at a nice pace. It did make me frustrated and it made me cry several times throughout the series. This isn't an average love story and it's not easy to explain to anyone. I've tried to explain it to someone else before and there is just so much to tell them that I couldn't tell them everything. It was also hard to describe the complexities in this story. I enjoyed the side couples that they decided to include. I know that this was based off of a book. I read the English translation so I know that it's a little different so I'm glad that they decided to do it in a different way in the TV series rather than like it was in the book. 10/10
Acting/Cast: This series was cast perfectly. My favorite among all of the actors is Gao Vengo. I just feel like he was so great in this series. Everyone did a fantastic job, but his scenes were my favorites. I want him to play the male lead at some point (I know he will be in the sequel. Can't wait!) 10/10
As I've said previously, this drama is beautiful. The sets, the actors, and the story line are all just wonderful. I have watched this series several times already and I'll probably watch it again at some point. I recommend this drama to anyone. It is a tearjerker, but it's such a good drama that it's worth it in the end. This drama gets 10/10.

Overrated, but not in a bad way
5 years after its release, this show has an average rating of 8.9/10 - With a rating so high, I was expecting a MUCH better show than what I watched. An 8.9 makes you think that the show is going to be good, *very* good, a masterpiece even... Alas, this show is nothing but average. I feel like anyone who rated it higher than an 8 is capping, 7-8 is more like its true rating. It's not so terrible that you would drop it, but not so great that you would rave about it either. It's just a solid show, it gave what it had to give. One thing I do appreciate though, is how it's more of an "easy" watch; You can watch this show comfortably, casually, without getting TOO invested because honestly, it's not that intense. Great world building and story telling, but no part of this show was so raw or emotional that it moved me to tears or left a lasting impact on me. Even the few comedic bits didn't make me laugh, and the parts meant to anger me really just annoyed me (y'all know how the villains and the conflicts in these dramas are... Very typical/predictable). Overall it's a good show though, and if you're interested in the plot I'd encourage you to watch it.(Ignore my ratings for story, acting etc - I just put 7.5 for everything, that's my overall rating).

A Goddess, A Crown Prince, and a Love That Refused to Die
The drama is divided into three major arcs: Si Yin and Mo Yuan, Su Su and Ye Hua, and finally Bai Qian and Ye Hua.The first arc lays the foundation of the world and relationships. While some may find it slower, it builds the emotional depth that pays off later. The real emotional turning point begins in the mortal arc between Su Su and Ye Hua. Their love in the mortal realm is tender, soft, and deeply moving. However, once Su Su is taken to the Celestial Palace, the tone shifts dramatically. Miscommunication, secrets, palace politics, and Ye Hua’s misguided attempts to “protect” her lead to devastating consequences. That arc remains one of the most heartbreaking stretches in xianxia dramas.
The final arc between Bai Qian and Ye Hua is a mix of romance, frustration, and redemption. Their chemistry is undeniable, but the repeated misunderstandings and Ye Hua’s often forceful behavior can be difficult to overlook. Still, the emotional payoff, especially Ye Hua’s redemption arc, is powerful and memorable.
Acting & Performances
Mark Chao delivers a phenomenal performance as Ye Hua. He conveys emotion through his eyes with remarkable depth. His pain, longing, authority, and vulnerability feel authentic. Whether as a restrained Crown Prince or a desperate lover, he commands the screen. Some of the most powerful scenes in the entire drama belong to him.
Yang Mi shines in her triple portrayal of Si Yin, Su Su, and Bai Qian. Each version feels distinct. Her Su Su is fragile and tragic, while Bai Qian is composed and dignified, though sometimes emotionally obtuse. Yang Mi captures heartbreak beautifully, especially in the palace arc.
The child actor who played Ah Li was absolutely adorable and added warmth to the story. The supporting cast also deserves praise.
Maggie Huang as Su Jin made viewers truly despise her, which speaks to how well she embodied the manipulative antagonist.
Vin Zhang as Li Jing portrayed a flawed but layered character whose long, obsessive love felt tragic rather than purely villainous.
The side couple Feng Jiu and Dong Hua became so popular that they later received their own drama, Eternal Love of Dream.
Even minor characters, from Bai Qian’s fox family to the heavenly gossip trio, added charm and personality to the world.
Strengths
Deep emotional storytelling across multiple lifetimes
Strong performances, especially from Mark Chao
Beautiful costumes and cinematography
Memorable soundtrack
High emotional impact scenes that remain unforgettable
Complex relationships beyond the main couple
The chemistry between the leads is intense and believable. Some romantic scenes were passionate and mature, which is refreshing in the genre.
Weaknesses
Excessive miscommunication and secrecy that prolongs conflict
Ye Hua’s questionable choices in the Celestial Palace
Some CGI that reflects its 2017 production limitations
Certain side plots feel stretched or underdeveloped
Lack of a truly strong, overarching villain
Dragging pacing in some later episodes
At times, it feels like nearly all suffering could have been avoided with basic communication. While that is a common trope in melodramas, it can become frustrating over 58 episodes.
Overall Impression
Despite its flaws, this drama earns its status as a xianxia classic. It is dramatic, emotional, sometimes frustrating, but undeniably impactful. The love story is tragic yet devoted, flawed yet powerful. The redemption arc of Ye Hua, the heartbreak of Su Su, and the enduring bond between Bai Qian and Ye Hua leave a lasting impression.
It may not be perfect in writing or pacing, but it stands in a league of its own because of its emotional depth, performances, and unforgettable moments.

In my opinion, this series is a brilliant and unforgettable work. I have seen many series, this series was the second series that made me cry. This series is really impressive and unforgettable, with an interesting story and the very strong acting of the actors, it made me really understand the story and the situation. The music is very impressive and beautiful.
I fell in love with Mo Yuan's character and I really admire him. He is very selfless without any expectations and at the same time self-sufficient and supportive.
Yang Mei's acting is very strong and she was able to play three roles very well. Mark Chao's acting is admirable as he can express his feelings without words and only by changing the expression of his eyes and facial muscles while being serious.
About the songs, I have to say that though I don't know Chinese, I understood the feeling of the song completely and guessed what the lyrics of the song should be.
The story is very beautiful and in my opinion, the choice of these actors for the main roles was completely masterful.

All I ever wanted... All I want has always been just you
I don't even know what to say because after finishing the series, i felt empty and happy. Empty because their love story is draining me – i felt butterflies, then cry again, felt butterflies again 😭💙, Happy because it deserves a victorious ending. It is also much better if they add some romantic scenes in the end because it felt short, my Ye Hua-SuSu heart is not satisfied because it is just too short for me 😭. And now,I don't know what cdramas with this kind of genre next to watch because i don't think I will not gonna move on to this chemistry + storyline + acting wise of this series. EVER. They just raised my standard so high ni xianxia genre. 😭 And I love the overflowing chemistry of the leads here, they're not forced, and they acted perfectly, what is age gap? I don't know it. 😚🤣 Nevertheless, #TenMilesOfPeachBlossoms will surely be my fave for a long time. It is just hone to perfection and I couldn't ask more. 😭💙 (despite the jealousy of those girlies, and love story of Bai Fengjiu and Dijun that takes too much time of the series here 😭)Was this review helpful to you?
