The K2

더 케이투 ‧ Drama ‧ 2016
Both dramas deal with powerful plotting women and men that are changing sides. In both dramas a murderer plays an important role and involves nearly all the people.
Although the K2 has more action to offer for now, the suspense and the mystery and plotting between the characters is a lot similar.

University student, Takatsuki Minato, likes things to be clean and in order while her stepbrother, Takatsuki Toru, is a bit of a player. One day, while cosplaying as a high-school student in a fashionable district in Tokyo, Minato accidentally bumps into Toru and quickly lies about her identity. To her surprise, Toru appears to take an interest in her alternate identity, Mina, and asks her out. Thinking that she might be able to cure Toru out of his playboy ways, Minato continues to disguise herself as Mina but will she be able to keep up the charade when she starts developing feelings for Toru?

These dramas just give me the same vibe. Both of the male leads have a mysterious past that continues to haunt them. Both dramas have political maneuvering in which the male leads are used as pawns in plays for power. And SADLY both dramas have female leads that have like ZERO personality, are REALLY annoying and basically sabotage a drama that could have been a lot better with a competent, likeable female lead.

Both are action packed dramas with large scale conspiracy behind the scenes. The main protagonists of both dramas are victims of this conspiracy and are out for revenge. Romance is also an important part of both dramas, although maybe a bit more in Iris than in The K2.

The relationship between Ji Chang Wook and Song Yoon Ah (Madame) in the K2, is very similar to the relationship between Jang Hyuk and Lee Mi Sook in Money Flower. Even though Ji Chang Wook is my favorite actor and while the action in the K2 was great, overall Money Flower is a better drama.

Both shows feature male leads who are incredible martial artists; confident and capable they plot their revenge and execute it with perfection, dealing with whatever hurdles may come at them. Similar series. Both excellent. Excellent fight choreography in both.

Zhang Jing Yi is the FL in both. The chemistry is natural. The relationship had depth. However, BEITD does not have a satisfactory ending.
