Wasn't going to review this but doing it in response to some other reviews that I totally disagree with.
1) Agree this is not a rom com. But it is not a tragedy either (for those of you who hate crying bitterly at the end, like me, don't worry, you won't.)
2) I didn't watch the Manga beforehand, and so I will take others' word for it that f you read it you'll be disappointed in this version.
3) saw that a reviewer wrote that Shin se kyung can't act. This floors me. I think she's one of the most amazing Korean actors I've ever seen. (See Run On.) The woman kills it in every roll! Her silliness is beautiful. But more importantly, she can express raw heartbreak better than almost anyone I've seen. as well as holding emotion in and it dripping off her eyelashes.
4) agree the ost is gorgeous.
5) Had no problem with ML coming off as arrogant and narcissistic. He's a god.
6) Agree that it's slow. But I've seen far worse.
7) 2ML actor is wonderful.
8) no opinion as to whether ML actor would have been better played by someone else. I think they had chemistry. He acts cold and distant, and at first acts like the FL/"god servant" is beneath him, and falls despite his will power.
9) Agree that some aspects were slow to take shape, and agree wholeheartedly that they should have had more scenes of the god world. That was a disappointment.

A Pretty Disappointment in Divine Packaging
I went into Bride of Habaek expecting fantasy, romance, and a divine love story worthy of the title. What I got was… a confusing mess of hot people acting like moody preteens with commitment issues. And let’s talk about that title for a second—where exactly is the “Bride” in Bride of Habaek? There’s no wedding, no divine union, not even a real payoff. Just a lot of push and pull that leads nowhere satisfying.Yoon So Ah, the female lead, was honestly exhausting. She starts off incredibly narcissistic and constantly plays the victim, and not in a "she'll grow on me" kind of way. Even by the end, I still didn’t care for her. She had a few redeeming moments, but they were like finding water in the desert—too little, too late.
Habaek? Sure, he’s hot. The man knows how to wear a suit. But beyond that? Not much going on. His character arc is flatter than a god’s heartbeat in the human world. I wanted a powerful, conflicted deity torn between duty and love. Instead, I got a divine himbo who disappears every few episodes for dramatic effect.
Moo-ra is another one of those jealous-female tropes that K-dramas love to throw in, but with zero depth. Bi-ryum at least brought a little personality and sass to the table—probably the only god in the show who felt like he had actual emotions beyond stoic boredom or vague angst.
Now CEO Shin (Hoo-ye)? There was potential. SO much potential. His character had emotional depth, tragic history, and a serious identity crisis… but the show does absolutely nothing with him. They dangle a compelling backstory in front of us and then walk away like we won’t notice. I’m still not even sure what his actual connection to Habaek’s past is supposed to be. Son? Reincarnation? Plot tease? We'll never know.
The shaman friend? Another letdown. She had visions that should’ve been critical, mysterious, exciting—but they amounted to nothing. Just cryptic warnings and dramatic fainting spells.
World-building? Basically nonexistent. We’re told these gods have responsibilities, kingdoms, histories, even wars—but you’d never know it from the show. They mostly just bicker, flirt, and lounge around on Earth like they’re waiting for a group chat update from heaven. It feels like they bought the fantasy furniture but never moved into the house.
There were a few standout moments. A scene here or there would hit emotionally—especially the bit with So Ah’s dad—that actually made me pause what I was doing. But they were few and far between. Most of the show felt like filler wrapped in pretty cinematography and slow-motion angst.
In the end, Bride of Habaek had a decent premise, but the execution fell flat. With more world-building, clearer plot arcs, and actual character depth, it could’ve been something magical. Instead, it’s a forgettable ride with a frustrating finish. I’m honestly shocked I didn’t drop it.
Would I watch it again? No.
Do I still have questions? Absolutely.
Would I recommend it? Only if you’re watching for the pretty faces and have a high tolerance for unfulfilled potential.

A waste of time
TL;DR You could change the description to: "A man with amnesia who believes himself to be a God from another world meets a neuropsychiatrist and they fall in love", and it would have been a far more interesting story.I know writing a review for this show means nothing now, because there will be plenty for everyone to read, and this will just get buried. But in the off-chance someone reads this: don't watch this drama. I'm annoyed I sat through all of it in the hopes that the water-deity plot would actually go somewhere at some point... spoiler: it didn't.
The 'water diety' plot doesn't go anywhere.
The powers he supposedly has? Don't mean a thing.
The characters (played by actors I like) are one dimensional and completely unrelatable.
The FL's tragic money struggles? Only turn up a few times, and don't change a thing.
Want to watch it for the romance? Sorry, it was unbelievable and boring.
PS: I apologise to anyone who actually enjoyed this drama, I just feel that everything this drama did was lazy, and I really hate it when dramas are lazy.

this was the most touching drama ever
i don't know why all people wrote bad reviews for this drama but despite that i decided to watch it . it was such a touching drama. This is my first time writing a review as i couldn't stand the bad comments and i wont go to any specifics all i want to say is that it has a happy ending and you should definitely watch it ,ignoring all bad reviews. The lighting, the music, the acting, logic everything is justified. Well we cant go into much logic as this is a fantasy drama . If you want a cool or down to earth drama this is not it. The main characters are funny or you can one is cute and other one is crazy😃Was this review helpful to you?
The plot made me sleepy and it is all over the place that I don't know what's the goal.
Nam Joo Hyuk I will always love you (and Lee Sung Kyung) and your acting career but this one is a big NO for your role. :( Doesn't fit. Shin Se Kyung, your acting here is a bit meh. Sorry. Krystal and Gong Myung are much better acting in this drama.
The music though is good to listen and there is one song that I like.
I dropped this already after episode 12 because it didn't excite me and is really boring D:

The story while interesting on the surface is really boring and does nothing new or interesting. While the plot isn't bad it's just been do much better in other shows.
The acting is probably the best part of this show. You can tell the actors are really trying trying and doing the best they can with the material but their is only so much you can do with what your given. They have all done better work in other shows so I just think it's the material.
The music is good for what it is. Nothing that really stands out or is really memorable but all the music fit well with the show.
Overall I would say that while your watching the show your gonna have a good time, it's probably not gonna become one of your favorites but it's OK. The main issue is after your finished with it absolutely nothing stands out or is memorable so remembering what happened is hard.
tl;dr-It's Ok but you probably won't remember even watching it in about 3 months

Story:
Was quite interesting.
Actors:
A lot people said the main lead didn't have chemistry but I don't know why they said that or once again I'm opposite what others think...
I really like the chemistry between 2 main couples. NAM JOOHYUK and SHIN SEKYUNG were very adorable and also very romantic when they kiss. Krystal and Gong Myung were also very cute. After watching my lovely girl I really like her acting and before lovely girl I didn't like her at all (sorry for die hard fans). NAM JOOHYUK was very cute and adorable and hot as Habaek!! NJH improved a lot from debut to now. He is the reason why i wanted to watch this serie???? and the demi god uri IM JOOHWAN oppa did his job very well and I always like his character even it's evil. Shortly they did their job. I can't say it's very bad.
Music:
As usual the music fits it's story.
Overal:
I will give this serie a big thumps up for their effort. It didn't bored me at all... love all the sequence and the chemistry etc.
Please give it a try before posting bad review cuz of other reviews. Normally I watch selected dramas cuz I'm watching series for more than 10 years and I think I know what I'm writing and saying about.
I spend times reading reviews before watching cuz I don't want to spend time for nothing.

Looking for a really cute drama?
Bored and want something to quench your time?
Then this drama is perfect for you!
The storyline of the drama is quite complicated but sweet. The characters have unique personalities and the background characters are all adorable to watch.
The 'deities' and characters in this drama are not mature, but they are relatable to a young audience. They are full of surprises and laughs and fun!
I recommend watching this drama with a young heart and with an open mind. Watch it with your friends if you please. It can be a bit slow at times, but the storyline kept me on the edge of my chair.
Here's a hint: Try watching one/two episodes per day. This adds to the suspense and allows you to make your own speculations.
