A'Chu and Yan Xun are led out to the platform where the imperial edict is given to Yan Xun to accept his family as rebels and to verify their severed heads. Distraught, he doesn't accept the edict and instead tries to ascend the platform to mourn and see his family. Wen Huai prevents him and declares that by not accepting the edict, he is punishable by death. Yan Xun's mother arrives to verify the head of the Duke of Yan, recounting stories of him saving the emperor multiple times.
