As Wen Yue and Xiao Yu fight, his bird drops from his pocket and Xiao Yu realizes he's her pen pal. Wen Yue makes his affections for Xing'er very clear. Though she decides to leave, she feels torn. Yan Xun banishes the Xiu Li army to the North Pass, but they refuse. As the Wei army approaches Northern Yan, Wen Yue realizes that Yan Xun will evade them and head straight for Wei capital instead.
