A heartbreaking episode...

While Sun Jian is foolish to take the imperial jade for himself, he does not deserve the death he receives in this episode. I feel so sad when he asked his soldiers to take Sun Quan away because he did not want Sun Quan to see him die. Sun Quan proves to be very intelligent and brave for his age, and he is cute as well. I wonder if he plays a role in the future. Overall, I like the Sun family and wonder if I will see more of them in this series.

Sun Quan and Diaochan show great prospect

I have expected Sun Jian's death since he had taken the Imperial Seal -however, his death had been grievous and not quite deserved, in such a manner. One of the saddest moments of this episode is exactly the death of Sun Jian and his men's, including, of course, his two son's grievance. Another episode I find worthy of mention due to its sadness is the episode with the ministers when Dong Zhuo dares declare himself "Imperial Father" (well, in other words, when he aims for the throne directly and endeavors to become emperor).

An impressive detail about this episode is Sun Quan's attitude (Sun Jian's youngest son, 9 years old). I have liked the character since he first appeared (as well as the Sun family since they have proven themselves to be ambitious and brave, even though I do not necessarily agree with the ambitious side of Sun Jian when he took the Imperial Seal, it is most understandable). It seems that Sun Quan might have a nice role to play in the future -at least I hope he shall.

An expected moment was the scene between Diaochan and minister Wang -of course, I have expected, since the episode 6, Lu Bu to make certain advances to the lady (it had been rather obvious from his glances that he had fallen in love, as well as she did). She seems to not understand Wang's presumptions with regards to her possible relationship with Lu Bu, but I do think I had already gotten the gist of it. Even her last expression, just before the episode ends, shows that she suspects some kind of dark meaning in her father's words, and she might be wondering if she would be able to do it, if it came to betraying Lu Bu, for instance. Diaochan has shown a fine touch of intelligence and instinct until now and I am curious about her endeavors in the future.

All in all, a fine, heartfelt episode. I am looking forward to the next one.

Take my son away

Sun Jian and his army, after falling for Liu Biao's trap, are attacked on waters and forced to fight to death. The general suffers the most from the attack, where a number of arrows were buried on his armoured chest.

With pained difficulty, he leaves all his orders to his youngest son, Sun Quan--to help his elder brother to protect the Southlands and to give up the Imperial seal for Yuan Shu and Yuan Shao to fight over.

He finally instructs his aide to take away his son before his last breath escapes him. As Sun Quan is being carried away, the nine-year old's wailing face proved too much of a heartbreak.

I just lost it. TT____TT
