lacks cohesion, story line flawed

with amazing characters, great visuals - the storyline is so disjointed and fails to suspend my disbelief. 4 minutes on a boat, throw in a few new dukes and then kill them off with some new villain sons. the new characters are undeveloped, yet immediately extreme. and now in minhai, they suddenly stay in the mansion of their enemy- who brings them a cat. it doesn't result in a world that feels real. it feels like contrived tension and false drama. and now Yi is hiding behind a fever? and a stupid hairpin, the first we've heard of it, has a deep meaning? still dressed as a boy, the two are now secretly steaming in love? where was the development of this expressive, melodramatic passion? i'd rather see them playfully prank each other until finally admitting love in the midst of a violent crisis. not hairpins and fevers. and if Yi will claim brink of death, then we need to SEE that. pale face covered in sweat, passed out in bed, lifeless and unresponsive... not winking at each other over a tea pot. moreover, they need to have her stop saving him. the role reversal is very off putting. i am glad she is resourceful and respected, but we dont need her to be a man. she needs to retain more feminine qualities. sure, i enjoy the series still, but it is rapidly falling lower on my own emotional scale.
