Ting Ye is easily angered by Man Niang but Ming Lan is able to calm and reason with him. They are not able to get Chang'er's location from Man Niang, so Rong'er tries, but this leads to dire circumstances. It becomes clear that Madam Gu is working with the Bai family to take down Ting Ye. They release Man Niang in hopes that she will eventually lead them to Chang'er, but she instead causes more trouble. (Source: frankly at kisskh)

Nahh I'm suspicious... the Bai family…

Nahh I'm suspicious... the Bai family even took her in. Possibly they hold his son hostage so they cld get GTY salt business inheritance. Minglan giving him the voice of reason. Good. I WAS RIGHT! there was no way those evils in Bai family wld release changer easily into his hand. Ughh those spies of that qin bitch. That devil zhu woman oh my head. How come it became like that?
