Falling Camellia (2018)

Nice samurai movie

An emotional story about a man who wants to keep his promise to his late wife, and an ended friendship.

Watching this movie somehow reminded me of the older samurai movies. Excellent performances by the actors and a suspenseful story of complicated treacheries among a han. I was really curious as to see who the killer of the father was.

My only complaint (well, not actually) would be honestly a nitpicking, and it is that there was lack of music. There was only a single piece - I presume it is by a violin that played through the whole movie. It doesn't really affect the experience though, I actually thought it added to it.

The fights were good too. I like seeing more realistic samurai matches in movies personally and was not disappointed. I don't know if it's just me but until the last ~20 minutes of the movie, there weren't much blood shown, but after that it was like bloodbath for some reason. That was weird haha but I'm not complaining.

It could be a little slow but it was a nice watch. I would recommend.
