Final Life Episode 1 Reactions
You are not given too much nor too little. Action, mystery, and some crime/investigation. This drama series starts you off with the makings of a mysterious and OP (overpowered) secondary main character who will most likely become the center of the drama's conflict and resolution. Appears to be a drama where coincidental connections and unspoken traumatic pasts will play roles in how characters will come to interact with one another and influence their decision making. Not a bad start for me. Why? Because this show appeals to my tastes in some mystery and supernatural-esque abilities. The cinematography looks decent from its choice of shots and cuts. The music gives us the feel of an action thriller. Plus, Taemin of Shinee is not a bad addition. I was surprised at myself for being able to recognize him over a fan-made video of the two main characters of the series, whose actors and series title were left unnamed. "That really looks like Taemin," I thought, "That really looks like Taemin." Research on the internet confirmed my thoughts and got me excited to find and try out the series. In the first episode, I was further surprised how I could make out Taemin's silhouette before his face was first shown on screen. I can continue to make him out from his silhouette and mannerisms in his movement, ones that feel familiar. I can see some of the angles and poses of Taemin from his music videos and his performances in the on-screen filming. This "Taemin aesthetic," while reminiscent of a Taemin people know, feels like an appropriate aesthetic of the character he plays, Shion. Furthermore, I am interested in the other characters and what story choices this drama will make.
