Under the Power

Both have strong and smart female leads who are fighting against the social norm for women. They are both young as well, both female leads grow before your eyes as their stories unravel. They also mask their genders, Chang Ge more-so than Jin Xia. The romance for both is slow-burn and based on mutual respect and all couplings go through a good deal of hardships together. You also get to watch as the casts both mature over time, character growth is prominent in both dramas.

Also, since the recommender is an Art Historian, the costuming is absolutely breath-taking in both dramas. You will not see the cast wear the same 2 pieces of clothing all throughout the drama. (Embroidered Guards in Under the Power wear an AMAZING set of uniforms! The embroidery is absolutely gorgeous.)

Ruthless, cold, calculating & intelligent leads who are hell-bent on giving justice to people suffering injustice under imperial rule by investigating cases. Strong, independent female leads & strong, cunning male leads who match on standards of wits, talents, strategies & tactics. Both features investigation of cases in investigative offices in ancient settings, mystery, suspense & political intrigues.

the male leads are the same. similar storyline. has a slightly different feel though. The era is different too. the dynamic between the 2 male leads is the same to an extent

Both are wuxia dramas with investigation/small case solving which will eventually lead to a bigger case/main plot of the drama.
UTP has slow burn romance with amazing chemistry between the leads (both ML and FL are strong and independent) while MLC has a slow burn bromance/friendships (lol) and ofcourse chemistry between three leads of MLC is fantastic (bickering trio)

Both drama has similar vibe, humor,action,detective skills and wonderful chemistry between leads.

I watched many c drama and still continue to watching but I only recommend both of these series because they are outstanding /Fabulous the whole story plot including the whole casting every character make your attention each and every scene create curiosity what will next happen there is no comparison between the two of them but when I think about the outstanding series just two name come in my mind

1)Outstanding Chemistry between the main lead including face expression its very tough to impress by face expression

2) Investigation and link between the cases

3) The two main lead not like each other but best friend in the end who sacrifice their own life for other

4)Create miss understanding between each other to protect his partner from evil

5) Royal Image many people follow him (in Untamed Lan Zhan has a personality and in under the power Lu Yi has that image)

6) Story of main lead background impact on his present life

I still finding another series like both of above
There are many but the standard are not high like The Untamed and Under The Power

Similarities:
- ML is from a powerful family…Very arrogant & Not afraid of anyone
- Both ML has great martial art skills + good fighting scene
- FL family experienced past tragedy that the leads are trying to right the wrong
- They went from bickering to lover…ML did many things to protect FL
- Good & intriguing storyline
- Has some investigation

In terms of the family, both series had familes that held more power than the kings. Also, both families controlled the royal family.

ancient investigation type drama. although under the power is more political and demon out of chang`an is more about the investigation side , the overall feel of both drama`s is the same

Although the setting is different, the dynamics between the master couple are very similar. The boss ML is always criticising the FL but he actually likes her and wants her to be the best version in herself. Both dramas deal with police work, although in different times and circumstances.

both are court conspiracy and romeo and juliet -esque in nature, FL saved but rest of family killed, ML's family connected to this...

The story plot very much closer with under the power in which perform Allen Ren Jaiuln and seven tan seven Tan the scenes are same I'm episode 3

Let see what next but I must say

Under the Power is more Excellent and funny because different cases involving from the beginning

Both have slowish mutual respect and then romance between a cold well off official and a warm but smart woman who works with him.
Both have past and present royal plots and betrayals that need to be resolved.

Strong antagonists who are also top ranking court officials. Conspiracies in grabbing power, illegal manufacturing of private arms. Protagonists need to expose antagonists but difficult to assemble enough solid evidences to prosecute antagonists who are cunning and devious.

Never made a recommendation before, but I feel like you would like Under the power if you like the good vibes the leads in love like the galaxy give. We can' t compare budgets, but the story and leads are equally captivating. What make me get over Under the power was love like the galaxy!

Personally, I like the couple in under the power because the couple fight back to back and no revenge really happened *which similar to girl like me
