Both are historical dramas about a strong forbiden love. Both have very strong characters, a lot of action and political intrigue.

Both are about the tragedy of the deposed king. The Princess's Man could be considered an introduction to the downfall of King Dan Jong and the rise of his uncle, Prince Su Yang, who is the main villain of the drama.

However, while the political timeline in The Princess's Man is accurate historically, it focuses on a fictional romance between Prince Su Yang's daughter and the son of his political rival.

Both are the works that show the political rivalry of Grand Prince Suyang (later King Sejo) and Kim Jong Seo.

Crown Prince Yi Gak finds that he has been transported from the Joseon Dynasty to modern-day Seoul. He meets Hong Se Na, who bears a striking resemblance to his dead wife, and is determined to solve the 300-year-old mystery of her death. While Park Shi Hoo's involvement is an understandable turnoff for many, The Princess Man is a classic "forbidden love" romance series by the same PD as Grand Prince.

He travels 300 years into the future of modern Seoul and meets Choi Hee Jin, a no-name actress who is expecting a career renaissance through her role as Queen In Hyun in a TV drama

Comedic film of a fusion-historical genre. Cute lover boy Heo Saek becomes Joseon's first male gisaeng and a flower-like woman named Hae Won who thinks ahead of her time, search for true love together.

The Princess’s Man is similar to Damo in that both are Joseon-era historical dramas featuring intense tragedy, forbidden or complicated romance, and deep emotional stakes against a backdrop of political conflict and betrayal — The Princess’s Man centers on a forbidden, tragic love between a noblewoman and a man caught in deadly factional strife and revenge, where politics and family enmity tear lovers apart, much like Damo’s blend of romance, loyalty, and personal hardship in a dangerous, morally complex historical world.
