I had finished watching TMOPB several times before I found out about TQGZ's plagiarism. I decided not to watch TLTWTPB for that reason. Unfortunately, I misunderstood one of the reviewer's comment that the story was true to the original novel and decided to watch the drama. In all fairness to the other talents, I finished watching the drama and gave this review.

So beautiful (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*.✧
My review of "Eternal Love of Dream" a.k.a "Watch God Dong Hua act like a kitten"Actually I think the main story is the same as in TMOPB. Only the interpretion is different as well as the further story. Feng Jui still falls in love with Dong Hua when he saves her, and she still wants to return the favor by serving him as a maid and follow him to the mortal realm to help his cultivation. But everything else is different. It's more clear, more interesting, more beautiful! Also the cameo of Bai Qai makes this really look like a second season but you can still watch it without having seen TMOPB. The story is more entangled and deep than that. It kept my interest at the highest to figure out those mysteries (like Aranyas Dream).
It is as slow paced as TMOPB at the beginning. The main leads only meet in their real forms like in around ep 20. But that doesn't matter. Again, the story needs the time to unfold - to be told, and I love every single second of it. It's not boring at all. If anything I wish it had even more episodes xD.
AND! In contrast to TMOPB the side chicks aren't as delusional and frustrating! They handled them quite fast and they didn't even got the chance to annoy me xD.

ACTING&CHARACTERS:
I dont think I have to mention that the acting is outstanding since they all are very good actors. Vengo Gao is playing 3 different characters and I didn't like the 1 of them but loved the other 2. But it's the same actor, lol. So he is amazing at portraying his roles! And Dilraba was great too! :)
I love the character developement here. I always wanted to see a different side of Dong Hua and I wasn't disappointed. He always acted cold, unreachable and distanced but as as he fell for Feng Jui he behaves like a cute mischievous kitten around her. He is so perfect! But also Feng Jui developed a lot and its amazing to see that.
Si Ming is still my favorite side character. Is it too much to wish for a 3d season about him? >.<

MUSIC ♪
I LOVE the opening. The song is so beautiful. And althought the OSTs aren't my typically taste in music, I love the OSTs! Specially "Pian Pian"! They give the story the mystic and nostalgic feeling it deserves. I think the whole story feels like a secret legend. ♡ The lyrics are so fitting and meaningful - my poor heart..

NOTES
I want to say that I love the themes and character posters. They are so pretty! (❁´◡`❁)

FINAL WORDS
I just can't believe how much I love this drama! I mostly watch dramas with fewer episodes since I get bored easily and TMOPB was an exception. So I thought it would be difficult to be as good as this. But I LOVED this so much! One of the best dramas out there. I need some time to get over it. Hope this wasn't the last one. <3
Watch it! Enjoy

Since I didn't read the novel before watching the drama and didn't also watch The Eternal Love before this, I wasn't really putting much expectation on the story line, but hell maann...this one started on very good notes AND ALWAYS kept me asking for more..Although it consists of 50+ eps, but the pace is just perfect and everything just moved so smoothly, you never get tired of watching (and rewatching) them.
On the casts, I've never seen a pairing as perfect as Dilireba and Vengo in terms of visual, acting, and chemistry. They just simply nailed it.
And the supporting casts are also magnificent, they fit perfectly with their own roles.
And I also love all the soundtracks!!! Especially Su Shiding - Book of Fate!!!
Basically, just watch it. You won't regret!

One of the best!
I needed this one to heal from the trauma of the first series. After rewatching it, this is one of my all-time favorites. The romance is super swoonworthy, and the characters are some of my favorites. There aren't many dramas that have such a sweet, satisfying ending , but this makes you cry happy tear and walk away smiling. Was this review helpful to you?

Lovable OTP but............
I'm one of those people who caught on to the TMOPB hype pretty late so I didn't have to wait too long for this drama.I loved this couple's story, and chemistry in TMOPB so of course I was always going to watch the drama dedicated to their story and I must say I was not disappointed in the OTP. For me the OTP is the best part of the drama, their chemistry, story, banter, poignant moments, all of it is absolutely spot on.
The story is a faithful retelling of the novel, except for some small bits here and there and the mortal realm arc which was expanded (unnecessarily in my opinion, because they could have used those episodes to flesh out the final episodes which seemed rushed) The story of Dong Hua and Feng Jui is epic and their love story is littered with seemingly insurmountable obstacles. The best thing about this story is the fact that they defied their unfortunate fate and forged on despite everything, ultimately transforming their fate into something positive and beautiful.
The acting is well done, Dilraba and Vengo shine in their roles and brought a unique freshness to the drama. The rest of the cast is good although some of the roles didn't get much screen time, overall it's a great cast.
I think the production team could have done a better job of editing and the entire post-production process seeing as they had over two years between wrapping up filming and premiering; there's just something lacking in the entire drama, the costumes were mostly cheap looking, the sky kingdom set was a bit too gold, gaudy and fake. I also don't appreciate the fact that some of the teasers they released didn't feature in the drama at all and that's so careless and annoying.
The music is great, although I would have loved it to be more evocative, but that's just my personal opinion. I keep thinking they should have acquired copyright for Dong Hua and Feng Jui's song from TMOPB ( Even If There's No Possibility by Xiang Xiang) that would have added a layer of much needed poignancy.
The OTP moments are everything, and if you love this couple you should definitely watch this drama.
The overall production for me was a let down so I give it a 7.5 out of 10.

Mischievous Fox and the Elegant Emperor
Eternal Love (the parent story) was mostly drama with comedic relief supplied by the exuberant fox and her crush, the Imperial Emperor. The sequel, Eternal Love of Dream, began with mostly silly comedy and very little drama. It was too great a departure from the feel of the parent story, so I put my viewing on hold. When I finally resumed the drama, the story switched to mortal tribulations, the FL matured and was less cutesy, and it became interesting to me once more. The Bad:
• There were far too many foolish misunderstandings that lasted way too long. One would think people who had lived for millenniums would have learned how to communicate with one another.
• As for FL being the leader of her clan, I'd like that job: she never led anyone, didn't serve on a committee, and was absent from her country 97% of the time. When she was home, she was either drunk or getting into trouble!
• The villain was disappointing, and it was hard to believe all the different leaders couldn't have dealt with her over time.
The Good:
• FL had character growth. She retained her stubbornness, playfulness, and impulsive nature, but she tempered it by listening to counsel and being willing to accept what she couldn't change.
• ML retained his narcissistic manner, but he learned to defer to the FL. His greatest change was realizing he shouldn't protect the FL from harmful knowledge; she had the need to know what was happening, if only to prevent more misunderstandings!
• The romance between the ML and FL was charming to watch. Gao Wei Guang and Dilraba Dilmurat each gave life to their roles and made their characters memorable.
• It was bliss watching the ever elegant and reserved ML become petty and spiteful over the tiniest things he felt encroached on his love. His expressions and snide remarks were deliciously amusing.
• The OST was enjoyable. I especially liked "Deliberately" by Dilraba Dilmurat and Silence Wang.

Watch it because i saw them in 10 miles and really curious with the continue of their story. But boy oh boy a little regret watch this.I don't like their attitude toward each other. Especially when Dong Hua (DH) became so childish in some way. Yeah their so sweet with each other. But i kinda hope DH not so childish when he face feng jiu (FJ). DH is sooooo old afterall. :D
Story: so many flaw if i may say if you compare with their background story in ten miles. I don't know which is messed up but first of all the age of FJ is different than in ten miles. In the ten miles the age of FJ supposed to be equal to Ye Hua at least 70,000 years, because she was born first than Ye Hua. But in here their downgrade her age just to 30,000. I don't know why, maybe so they can make FJ more childish like. The story of FJ born also different. The meeting story of si ming, cheng yu and FJ also different. Especially the story of how DH & FJ met is also different. There is some more that i not remember at this time
A little bit disappointed also with some of the changing setting like the Zhe Yan peach forest, DH palace. Even though setting here more beautiful but for me better the setting in ten miles. I more like it
Cast: a little dissapointed when they change zhe yan, zhen zhen and cheng yu. But in the end every one quiet fit their role expecially cheng yu.
Re-watch: watch one time is enough for me...

Great casts, superb acting and fighting scene.
Awesome dialogue and very witty banter. Love love it!
The ost that came out when FJ bowed 3x to Emperor Xuanren was so poignant. The superb acting by Raba & Vengo in the scene literally gut my heart n made me cry. The tragic end to General Ye parting scene with FJ .... oooh...the feels.
Now I get to see the Iceberg DH in shameless pursuit of his love interest. He isn't gaining any brown points with her yet. Mr Ice sure knows how to ruffle his foxy lady. Lol ...the ancient teenager courting a young fox. The chemistry between the OTP is ?
If you haven't watch this drama yet, please check it out. You will enjoy from ep 1 to 30 n more. The drama adapts very closely to the book.
Lastly, Eternal love of Dreams aka Pillow Book IS NOT, I REPEAT, IS NOT a continuation of Eternal Love Peach Blossom series. It has nothing to do with the early series. It's 2 volumes on its own.

So far, the leads have improved their acting from their previous drama. With their acting and story writing, they've done the book justice so far, especially with episode 30. I love how the setting is pleasing to the eyes too.

rights to this novel, so I'm just glad they made a drama from this with Dilreba and Vengo! Even the Fox King and Heavenly Emperor actors are back, which is a nice touch. The special effects are much improved. Oddly, Heavenly Palace is now a very white and gold more complex palette, as opposed to the previous drama's more classical look, and all soldiers wear face masks. In 2017 when I finished Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms, I sooo wanted to see a sequel with Donghua and FengJui, and here it is on Viki with subtitles. I can't express how happy I am to watch this. For those who may not know, when the other production company purchased the rights to make Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms into a drama, they didn't purchase the rights to Pillow Book. So, in Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms they made up a lot of Donghua and FengJui's storyline (which was why it was kind of draggy). Because the Pillow Book drama is based on the Pillow Book novel,

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
it's been a week since i have been indoors due to the corona virus outbreak and this drama made this week pass by in the blink of an eye !First if all it's best to leave behind whatever knowledge we have about Feng Jiu and Di Jun from ten miles of peach blossoms as that story focused mainly on Ye Hua and Bai Qian and the directors there didn't have the rights to adapt FJ and DJ's story... So they couldn't portray the real story of DJ and FJ in TMOPB....
I had hated both DJ and FJ's character in TMOPB as the former was too cold and emotionless while the latter was very immature and naive and naturally i wasn't interested about their story... But their characters portrayed in this drama was just amazing.... We finally get to see Feng Jiu evolve into a queen and Di Jun turn into a hopeless romantic for FJ... At times they were soo sweet that i almost got diabetes watching them... It was especially cute to see Dilreba acting like a fox whenever DJ touched her... The was she rubs her head against his hand or the way she sniffs when he taps her nose was just plain adorable... Vengo Gao as Di Jun was too good especially his playful and mischeivous moments with FJ and the others.
The cast as usual was amazing... I wish we could get more of Lian Song and Chen Yu in the future... It would have been really good if Ye Hua also had a cameo appearance like Bai Qian... I like how the writer connected every part the story... Some parts were confusing and unnecessary but then again it wouldn't be a chinese drama if it wasn't and the good parts of the drama kinda overpower the bad parts... According to me Ah Lan Ruo's dream was unnecessarily long... I wanted more of DJ and FJ in the heavenly world.... FJ's decision in the 54th episide kinda annoyed me but as long as those two end up together i am fine with it... In the absolute end of the drama, when FJ and DJ say to each other that FJ is DJ's and DJ is FJ's, Bai Gun Gun retorts saying that they both are his and that was the best ending this drama could have had....
The OST is also pretty good. I enjoyed this journey of Bai Feng Jiu and Dong Hua Di Jun, the couple that was not destined for each other but ended up writing their own destiny..
PS- you need absolute patience to watch this. For me, TMOPB will always have a special place in my heart but i will defintely not forget this either..
PPS- i liked the new actor who played the role of Bai Zhen... The actor whole played High God Zhe Yan was likable but at times i felt that he had a villainous face... But i'm really interested to know more about the relationship between these two...
