Love by Chance

I watched the last episode without a subtitle, because I am a little impatient but I won't let that affect my review. I will be speaking honestly based on my opinions about the series. I initially liked it for the interaction between the characters Ae and Pete, but then as I met through the other characters I am floored . I loved all the couples in the drama. Though there are four main couples... I personally feel Ae and Pete has predominated the rest of the couples(it is just my opinion). But that is also an advantage in the series, you get to see the sweet and fluffy moments between Ae and Pete. The friendship between the characters is amazing, the family aspects, the development of love between the main couples and the already existing hidden love. It is all beautiful. On the whole, I wish there was another episode to it(I am not entirely sure if there is a season 2) Kinda felt it was a bit abrupt (again, it can just be me). I would love to see if there is a part two...I am not sure if I will rewatch it again...maybe for the couples I like the most!!

Could've been done better

I usually don’t write reviews, but for Love By Chance it was a sign I had to. It's been a time since I last watched the series, and as far I have noted, it's overall a good BL. Tho the acting,, I have a feeling they could have done better. I understand the actors did everything they could with what they received, and as much as I love Perth(Ae) and Saint(Pete) I have to be honest and say it didn't sell me anything. There were some episodes where I cringed and literally had to stop there. The only reason why I kept going with the series, was because they annonced a season 2.
The acting didn't sell me at all, because of the exaggerated cute scenes between Ae and Pete (spoiler: especially ep8/9 where they also had sex for the first time).
I felt the need to skip it all, and to be very honest, it just felt forced and it really didn't give off the cuteness it was supposed to give.

Apart from the Tum/Tar relationship, what I also didn't understand was the relationship between Can and Tin.
It honestly confused me so much, it was like I couldn't keep up with them at all. They tried their best to create the so called poor/rich relationship, but what was the purpose?
We had Can who literally was ready to fight anyone that breathes near him, and after confessing to Tin, it was like Tin immediately had to like Can back??!
Overall, I am very disappointed and hopefully season 2 is a lot better. Is it worth rewatching again? Absolutely not.

Love By Chance is a series that's definitely worth watching and even re-watching, and here's why:
LBC does a great job at portraying relationships realistically, it doesn't use miscommunication as a plot device and instead lets characters actually talk to each other to sort out problems, it also has a wide variety of side couples that balance out the incredibly sweet main one, some work out and some don't, just like in real life.
It also doesn't fall into clichés from most BLs, it even takes those clichés and turns them into something actually good and worth watching.
It doesn't mock gay relationships or go too hard on the fan service, and it definitely doesn't have repetitive plot lines.
The music, although not new to some, is catchy and matches the mood of the scenes well.
And the acting, even if the actors are young and some very new to the industry, is really good!
This is the type of show you can watch after a bad day and feel better.

Watching just 5 episodes gives me butterflies. Seriously! this series is far different from other BL dramas because it has a different story line, the characters are so good with their acting and most important the chemistry between all the characters is what you can actually feel. Ae and Pete looks good together, i wish we will see more of romance between them. The second couple that i am really very excited to see is Kengkla and Techno, they will have a good chemistry i hope. Also if i talk about other actors, i do feel they are doing great job.
I am really hoping for a happy ending and season 2. I think this is a must watch BL drama for BL lovers.

What I love about this series is the "acting", specially Perth. Among all the actors in thai BL series, he has the most natural acting skill i've ever seen. And Saint's portrayal of Pete is excellent to.To be honest, im not sure if he is really like that in real life coz I've seen his video reacting to their kissing scene and his reaction was soooo "Pete".I just love it.Second is I really like the cinematography...the editor/director/camera man and others really did a GREAT JOB! Next is the music..I love the main OST and the other one, Kor by Boy Sombop, and "Shake" from Love Sick was a bonus!the way they made the scenes, and applied the music was really brilliant. When it comes to story, I would say nothing is new(aside from Pete,being gay since the beginning, u know what i mean about thai BL) BUT, the way the script was written and the way they executed the scenes was very very good! This series has a powerful cast - good looking guys and great actors. Its fluffy, at the same time, its mature and serious. I felt really upset when the series got delayed...but now that its airing, Im asking myself what did I do GOOD to deserve this beautiful BL series. The wait is really worth it. And Im looking forward to see the other couples. And looking forward to see Season 2. 2 Moons was my favorite BL series before. There maybe some issues with the "acting" from that series but the have a very good looking cast and super cute and fluffy scenes that's why it became famous. But im afraid that LBC is now my favorite....it has the perfect combination of everything we need on a BL! Our generation is very lucky to see this BL series..not just this one, but all of the other BL series - Lovesick,MIR,Sotus,TWM,2 Moons and others..I hope that it will continue until we get old and older..love yahhh...

Definitely a LOVE BY CHANCE

Never trust a person who has a trump on his name. PERIODT 🤣
This BL series made me realize that “my lonliness is killing me” tho 🤣 asking myself why I’m still single right now. Questioning my decisions in life. A love story that will surely make you jealous and yearn for love. Main and side couples are superb! OST is also superb tho! Like, you can imagine yourself falling in love while the song is playing on the background. I’ve watched it twice already and might watch it again if i want to be jealous again being single 🤣 anyway just remember that there will be a season 2. Sooooo.....

Nice BL series

Love by Chance is thd first Thai BL series I've ever watched and I really liked it!

The positive:
The relationship between Pete and Ae is very healthy and sweet. No heartbreak, break-up or crazy amounts of jealousy. The supporting characters are also very interesting. I like the story of Can and Tin and look forward to it continuing in the 2nd season!

The negative:
In my opinion Pete is just way too meek! He doesn't have a lot of personality or anything to endear himself to the audience, unlike Ae, Can and Tin.
The sexual assault of Techno. It's creepy and not cute at all.
Also, it's a bit strange that pretty much EVERYONE in this series is gay! 😂 The fact that homophobia is completely absent (except for Pete's ex in the beginning) makes the series more light-hearted, but also a bit unrealistic.

All in all I'd definitely recommend the series though!

HOW CAN YOU LIKE THIS!!!!

I hosnetly was loving it. Like in all honesty, somehow Ae and Pete fell off for me at some point I was just watching them because I wanted to know where their story would go... I didn't get any of the other relationships, aside from TinCan that I ended up loving, I finished the show because of those TWO. I honestly got lost and didn't even get the point of the rape thing like that it's a very sensible thing to talk about and I don't even know what was going on with it on the show. Ae was a great character but he became so annoying at some point. Pete was okay I liked the actor, pond was fine too I mean it was goofy so yeah. Tin was a grower and Can too both of them were great. Anything else was just downhill.

I loved, no, I adored Ae & Pete - but I didn’t care about pretty much anything else in this drama. The side couples - with the exception of the sole hetero ship featuring Pond which was really cute - were creepy as hell and even Tin & Can, a wildly popular ship in the fandom, pushed my nope-nope-nope buttons from time to time. That’s why it’s hard for me to judge this drama as a whole. Ae & Pete? 10/10, would highly recommend. Everything else? Don’t bother.

But Ae & Pete are still so, so good that them’s worth watching this. They’re so good with each other and for each other and once they become a couple, which is pretty early on in the drama, there’s little angst between them because they actually talk about their issues, they don’t let them fester. Also, let’s face it, they are hot and their sex scenes are even hotter and I loved the slight undertones of D/s between them because Pete is way too shy to ask for anything in bed but luckily, Ae loves making Pete feel good. And yes, Ae is very possessive of Pete but Pete revels in it, in being wanted and desired, while Ae revels in taking care of Pete because he’s a born caretaker. Like I said, they’re just good for each other!

This drama also made me a fan of the two lead actors, Perth Tanapon & Saint Suppapong who have insane chemistry on-screen. But it’s also the first drama where I noticed Earth Pirapat who has a small part of the “gay fairy godmother,” basically, giving out advice to his juniors while still trying to go about his own life, thank you very much.

LBC is a great BL to introduce your friends to Thai series. It has everything: the boys, the love, the humor. But it's not perfect. Although chemistry between ships were incredible, the series lost its focus several times and wasted viewer's time with pointless scenes. Both plot and characters deserved to have been directed better. Also, sometimes they were too honest into ~some subjects like guys watching porn, so it was a bit uncomfortable at times.

The highlight goes to the love making scenes. Just watch it, it's wonderful.
