Best kdrama I’ve ever seen !!!
First things first this is my first review so sorry if it’s not exactly the best .Now here goes .
It was the best kdrama I have ever seen in my Entire life !!
Ik some people say this drama isnt worth it But I would say it definitely is (maybe my word isn’t all though because unlike some of you who are reading this just to find out whether you should watch it or not )I had already read the webtoon before watching it so the plot wasn’t exactly a huge surprise to me at all .
I will say the drama is slow paced but it’s definitely worth it ,you just have to wait until episode 11 and then after that the drama gets a bit more fast paced since everything has been explained by then .
Since I read the webtoon (yes there’s a webtoon by the same name )which this was based off )
I had been wanting to watch this drama for such a long time like six months that Some of the things in the webtoon left my mind (but most things didn’t ) However tbh not everything that happens in the webtoon even matches up to the tv show so you don’t need to read the webtoon before watching the drama since it’s just based on the webtoon .
Some things that happen in the drama don’t happen In the webtoon like in the webtoon
Lee young joons dad is a huge fan of Kim mi so’s dad (who’s in a band a rockstar well in a rock band at least but in the drama that doesn’t happen )
Anyway this drama is so amazing it made me fan girl so hard .❤️❤️❤️
There was so much romance in it and I’m a huge romance fan in kdramas I’m a sucker for it and this really made me love this .
It isn’t just the main leads romance that is adorable its the Side character romance that is so cute and adorable and sweet I just loved it
Just look at my feeds and your see exactly how much I loved it !!
So If you love rom coms or office romance please watch it your love it!!
The acting was also amazing I loved it so much
And the OST’s were pretty good too .
This drama got a 10/10 from me and to get that a drama has to have a certain WOW FACTOR and this drama gave it to me it made me literally fan girl
Over the main leads : Kim mi so and lee young joon and the side characters Kim ji ah and go gwi nams romances I just loved it so much !!
I kept me smiling so much from how much romance there was I loved it!!
Some people say this drama is misogynistic but tbh it’s not really misogynistic (she chooses to be a secretary and even loves it (she also hits him often at times so idk how it’s misogynistic really is it
Idk what some people expect she can’t get any higher of a position than she has in fact she’s the vice chairman’s secretary the bosses secretary the highest position she can have and also well tbh some people say he fell in love with her Because she did everything for him that’s not true (I think he liked her from when she was little or something like that he actually hired her because well he liked her .tbh some people said he made her do things like work /over worked her but he didn’t she chose to (in episode 11 he tells her that she could have said no to anything and it would’ve been okay with him .
Also tbh this is like many other kdramas so if your gonna say this kdrama is misogynistic you are basically saying half of the kdramas well
The office romance ones are .
Also some things like this happen in real life sometimes
If you have a problem with what I’m saying about the misogynistic things like tbh don’t say idk about what I means because I’m pretty sure I do .
Also don’t mention those messed up adult books that have Boss and secretary in it they Have nothing to do with this drama .So don’t talk about it .someone in the comments mentioned it which is why im adding this in my review to
Stop the comments from being talked about misogynism and stuff (it’s what someone in the comments below writ so I just wanted to make it clear to anyone who was reading the comments that this drama isn’t misogynistic at all (at least not by my standards anyway )
Also just want to say this (This world is mainly male dominated and tbh don’t call me a feminist here but I’m not a big fan of that actually tbh I want to make it to the top and run my own business and be a CEO so it might be why I love office kdramas .
(I’m a female btw )
I love this drama because of how amazing it is
I definitely recommend it btw .
Sorry about the stuff above and how bad this review is but the point is I love this kdrama so much and you should definitely watch it .
Either for the acting ,the ml or the storyline or the romance you should watch it
I loved this drama so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️In fact it was so obsessed with it I was fangirling so
Hard and this is the first drama that made me do that !!
I just loved it.

It’s a trope fest so you gotta appreciate tropes to actually see this drama for the beauty it is.
As the headline states - to be honest with you , it is a real trope fest ! I’m talking chaebol, fate, noble sacrifice, second bananas, rich and poor etc . The whole shebang !I really appreciated the tongue-in-cheek honesty and found this refreshing. As for my review- This is a really fluid watch hence the utter high marks I give it .Its not strenuous in the slightest nor is it frustrating. To me , fluidity and the feelings aroused are very important points in my drama forays. WWWSK passes it all.
STORY- well , the synopsis is not much to chew on and I advise those wanting to watch to go in with the low expectation the synopsis provides. You will be surprised by the elements that this drama brings. What you see is also not what you get as well in regards to the OTP.It really isn’t all about a secretary and her boss but let me keep quiet before I spoil. I especially loved its honesty in knowing it was a trope filled rom com and I loved the truthfulness of spinning each trope (knowingly with a wink to the viewer) on its head . I loved how the story was really inclusive of the viewer .I almost felt like a cast member hence WWWSK is engaging . It’s a bright , fluffy and really entertaining watch. The elements of it being based on a web toon added the X factor to the refreshing aspect of WWWSK.To juxtapose - I like the seriousness and thoughtfulness that the main leads incorporate .To be specific - I liked how the main OTPs actually listen to each other when they express feelings or opinions,. There are no plot holes and everything is all very satisfying. Such stellar romantic quotes and flooring declarations plus revelations enough to make you swoon to the gods. Moreover - the subsidiary stories were fun to watch hence the 10.
ACTING - lovely! For once not a stiff wooden female lead and I am soooo grateful for that . She actually closes her eyes when kissing ! In my view - the cast was flawless . They had so much energy and charisma plus geled really well together . The cast is dare I say almost iconic ? Like , I was nearly convinced they were actually really really firm chums in real life having a ball working together . Loved the expressive Park Min Young and the depth and charismatic range Park Seo Joon .
MUSIC - great OST . Loved every tune especially the poignant and profundity that is Its You by Jeong Sewoon. This song actually tells the whole story if one is paying close attention.
FASHION - 10 as well. All the outfits really communicated the characters portraits very well. The fun office girl wore shorts suits , the cutesy one wore baby doll blouses ,chaebol never really got casual etc you get the picture. Office wear was also done in a very approachable manner fit for any Pinterest board. Plus really loved all the accessories as well . Pretty earrings and great handbags . Young Jun’s suits were also really good though I loved his take on casual which wasn’t casual but really communicated the ethos of his character.
REWATCH - yes . I will definitely revisit sometime . It will be fun watching trying to figure out and pin point when and where exactly all the characters really fell for each other . Plus Park Seo Joon has really funny lines .
OVERALL- Personally a firm fave of mine . It’s going into my lists for fave dramas and OTPs . Perhaps the only critique I can give is that the final episodes did delve into some sort of fan service of some sort . Some may say towards the end there was no plot development but what do you want from a rom com ? A masked serial killer ? I personally want cute scenes and resolve and if it means an overload of pretty cute scenes that are actually coherent and reflective then bring on the fan service !
Go watch . It’s better than The Heirs which I dropped and found in its pathetic stead - this gem WWWSK. HA !

The side characters were so cute as well. It took me a while to warm up to Ms Bong and Mr Ko, but by the end, I was rooting them all on. I'm glad that every loose end got tied up neatly, and every small fragment came full circle by the end (e.g. the flowers! What kind of DETAIL?). The "hero" music had me rolling in the absurdity at times.
I'm very glad that I watched this show after seeing a few others now. It was so fun seeing our favourite Because This Is My First Life characters make cameos. And I'm so glad Ji Ah got a happier ending than this actress got in Fight For My Way — for a while there, I was worried!
I was a huge fan of the kidnapping subplot, because it was so formative to their lives. Plus, it was clearly written in as part of the "plan" from the first episode. It wasn't dragged out too long, and I'm glad there were still conflicts to handle thereafter. This drama felt a lot more like western TV shows, in the sense that after the kidnapping subplot, each episode had its own conflict that was wrapped up at the end.
Park Seo Joon and Park Min Young are so beautiful and such good actors. They seemed to be having so much fun throughout, so I'm glad they got to have this script to carry out for us fans. It was a pleasure to watch this love story!

Same story again
I thought I would like this drama, but I skip some scenes and did not watch the whole drama properly. The thing I do not like is the fate thing. They were kidnapped and locked together and then they marry each other. I m watching Wieghtliftning fairy kim bok joo and the same thing there. Fate. They met each other when they were kids and then again in the future. Basically most of the kdramas are abaout fate.for example...goblin, strong woman, extraordinary you, my love from the star, crash landing on you and many more. Please give me suggest for dramas which are not about fate. For example waikiki, love alarm and the heirs.

I don't know what it is about this drama, but I keep coming back to it. I finished it the first time because of the secondary characters that are not only very well cast, but have very sweet stories and plots. But I rewatched some of the episodes before bed (I have trouble falling asleep, sometimes it's best for me to put something into background and slowly drift off) and I totally fell for all of it.Yes, the male lead is insanely narcissistic and a bit of a twat but when you know where the story leads you can retrospectively understand his behaviour and actions perfectly. Park Seo Joon is excellent and Park Min Young performs to her usual high standard. Their chemistry almost lit my screen on fire several times. The real charm of this drama, though, lies in the great combination of secondary characters that you just have to root for.
There is not much story to talk about, it's a character driven drama. I can totally see that if you don't fall for one of them, the appeal goes rapidly down. For me this the type of drama, that you come home to (especially during the summer months when all of your colleagues are on vacation and you work for them as well) and switch your brain off to watch it. And sometimes that's just all you need.
I loved how colourful and quite happy go lucky it is. The music is also there, at least three songs of the OST are so catchy that I still mumble them in a dull moment. There is also one, let's say, darker storyline, which I found quite underdeveloped and just a bit silly. It existed just to work a well known cliche into the drama so I get why they used it.
Other than that I really have nothing negative to say about WWWSK. It's one of my guilty pleasures and it warms me up even in cold weather.

CLASSIC CEO STORY!
I LOVE THIS SERIES!From the ML and FL acting, OST, production and supporting cast, BRAVO!!!
Seriously, it takes almost a miracle to get this rating from me. The rewatch value is worth it. The dynamic emotional changes with both ML and FL are worth mentioning. ML (Park Seo Joon), of course he has the look, presence, etc. However, to go from strong, egotistical to vulnerable, broken and in love felt genuine and impressive. The way ML spoke without speaking throughout the series linked the love and trauma together beautifully. The FL (Park Min-Young), beautiful, smart and naive...yet the writers did not make her clueless even in the odd situations in which she was placed. THANK YOU! I love that she was a strong FL that may not be experienced in love but is still self-aware. when it comes to the supporting cast, I want to say to the writer's "well-done" on how to incorporate a strong supporting cast without their storyline taking over the main. The best friend to the male lead (Kang Ki Young) was a treasure! He was both smart and funny and made the almost unattainable ML seem more relatable. OST and BTS/Location/Grips Production - That's how you produce at great product. You all truly paid attention to detail! This should be noted, because when you view a lot of different series, you can tell when it is and is not done well.
The trauma element is not overdone or forced within this series. The way of the reveal and how the family all came through it all was nicely done. This is a CLASSIC that many dramas (both C-dramas and K-dramas) have tried to recapture the look, feel chemistry and some come close; yet many fall short. I must mention the CEO when he was young (Moon Woo Jin) This child is one to watch! He is truly gifted. Overall, I can't say enough for this tight production inside and out. You all are worth every nomination and award received.
WELL DONE!!!

Such a great rom-com!
We meet a narcissistic executive { Park Seo Joon } who rarely acknowledges the people around him because he’s so self-absorbed. He’s become successful in large part due to his capable secretary { Park Min Young } who’s worked diligently over the past 9 years. But when she informs him of her intent to resign so she can focus on herself, hilarity ensues. He’s determined to keep her by his side & she’s just as set on leaving. Who will win this battle of wills when hearts become involved?I absolutely love this. The quirky coworkers/friends, their families, the bromance… And then we have the Leads.
The ML & his *AURA* (iykyk) is hilarious! 😂 I love his self-confidence that makes him such an amusing fool. It’s good he never loses that belief in his own awesomeness.🙃 And his unwavering pursuit of the FL is swoon worthy. He goes all out to win her affection & I rooted for him 100%.
The FL is just as spectacular & the perfect balance to his oddities. But she’s got her own brand of crazy which is so fun to watch. They compliment each other so well! I loved her strength. She was respectful & stayed kind with the ML even when he was not so nice to her (though he was never intentionally cruel, just clueless!) And I love how she comes to appreciate his many quirks.
They have a beautiful love story born from a childhood bond (seriously, their past connection? One of the best I’ve seen!) Their chemistry makes me melt.🔥🫠 They’re wholly devoted - a wonderful OTP who give all the feels. 💕

Cute/ Fluffy/ Hilarious all describe this drama
This drama was a walk in the park.. I will have you laughing so hard that you'll be in literal tears... This drama has loads of romantic scenes and some even being classed as steamy between the main leads...It's one od those comfort, feel good dramas that makes all your worries in the world disappear... 🤣🤍🤍
If you haven't watched this drama.. what are you waiting for? Get to stepping!
No Spoilers but it's definitely one of the dramas that has a high rewatch value and I can personally say I've rewatched this multiple times....

Fun watch
I watched this awhile ago and his personality is hilarious. I've gone back and played a few scenes to show people the funny scenes. It was well-acted, and the story moved at a good pace. A little slow in the middle, but then it picked up again. The FL and ML has great chemistry, both were capable of both the humorous parts and the romantic parts. There are serious parts in the story too and so it gives it a good balance. But for the most part, it is humorous and light. So if you're looking for something fun to watch with a group of friends, then I don't think you could go wrong with this one. Light plot, but lots of cute and funny moments. Was this review helpful to you?

Needed more plot
My main complaint with the show is that it reached its logical conclusion in episode 12. This is when ML and FL were already a couple and the mystery behind the kidnapping was resolved. The rest of the episodes were just filler without a plot. When there is no conflict and nothing to resolve, the story becomes stale. There wasn't even that much conflict with the older brother. He just kind of became irrelevant after the kidnapping mystery was resolved. The animosity between the brothers also looked forced because of the lack of plot development. When Young Joon told Mi So that his brother was a "bastard" and there were issues with their childhood friends, it implied that there might've been past bulling or some other conflict which had nothing to do with the kidnapping. But, it was just the kidnapping. To make matters worse, the issue between the brothers was forced on them by their parents who lied about the kidnapping for their own good, which was a pretty stupid plot device because it did not justify all the animosity. And, after it was resolved, everyone acted like nothing happened for the last 4 episodes, which was especially disappointing because the kidnapping and resulting trauma were an important plot point central to ML's and FL's character development and the writers made it completely superficial and unimportant at the end.The resolution to the plotline of Mi So wanting to find herself felt like a cop out. At the beginning, she wanted to leave the company to find a husband. Then, that plotline was abandoned just to resurface at the end where Mi So realized she wanted to continue being Young Joon's secretary because she loved him. And, she remained his secretary after marrying him. This was rather a strange choice for a wife of a CEO to have the same position as his office employees, instead of holding a higher position for which she was actually qualified.
One of the things I liked was that FL had enough sense to pick up on the nuisances about ML's behavior to discern that there was a lot more to the kidnapping story than what she was told. I loved that she did not just blindly believe everything she was told and started having a crush on the older brother, which would've resulted in a very stupid love triangle. She suspected from the very beginning that Young Joon was the one who was kidnapped, which led her to the truth. In return, Young Joon transformed from a self-centered person to a thoughtful and caring boyfriend and employer. The main couple also had very nice chemistry and some very steamy scenes.
Other than that, there wasn't much else going on. The side characters were not interesting enough to carry the plot. I ended up skipping most of scenes in episodes 13-16 and just watched the ones with the main couple to get to the end faster.

It may not be perfect, but it was perfect for me
I don't get the negative reviews here, but to each their own. This show was recommended to me after I watched King the Land, which I absolutely adore. I've come to need good rom-coms in my life; I've had it with hackneyed dramas with their manufactured angst and cliche story-lines. This show, for me, filled in all the blanks. ALL OF THEM.
I came to fall in love with the cast, their stories, the direction, photography, locations, etc. The OST was not quite as good as KtL, but it's background score was better, especially her theme (available on YouTube). The show correctly and perfectly developed not only the leads, but the supporting cast as well and included them in the leads story so well and logically. We came to care about them TOO.
I don't feel the story let down after the background mystery was resolved - in fact, how it was finally resolved and confessed brought tears to my eyes. And the lead's journey after that, was no less compelling. His love for her, that had been so long in coming, that he dare not reveal, was at time heart-rending for him. Her confusion about the past and her deep feelings for him kept us coming back for more and more.
Everybody talks about "chemistry". Not only did the leads have great chemistry, but this extended to the supporting cast as well. The scenes between the VC & President were not only funny, but touching and realistic. Everyone played off each other so well; I've never seen a show like this before. Kudos to the casting director!
Their fumbling and stumbling thru their relationship (the first one for each, despite their ages) was relatable. Was he a "toxic" person? No, he's just a dork. He's a clueless rich guy, whose intelligence is matched by his social awkwardness. And he was traumatized by events in his past that would have shattered lesser personalities. Is she a cold-hearted, selfish woman? Seriously? She is trying to deal with her long-time boss being someone who is more than he seems and trying to balance her affection for him with her sense of duty and uncertainty in falling in love for the first time.
The webtoon goes well past their marriage, and tells us their story in the future. I still hope that maybe, someone, will pick up on this and give us a Season 2.
I only wish KBS would give us something more like this instead of what passes for K-dramas on their network these days. I eagerly await the Filipino Version!
PS - I liked it so much I bought the DVD (tip: the translations on the DVD are OK, but not as good as those on the online streaming sites).

On the one hand, I find the writing for Lee Young Joon (the ML) and the complex relationship that he has with Kim Mi So (the FL) is very good.
Seeing how love changes people is always a treat for me, even though most of the times the characters that undergo this kind of transformation shift their personality 180 degrees, basically becoming a new character in the end. On the contrary, in What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, ML's character growth is done is such a way that he gets to keep his cocky personality throughout the whole story, but he gradually shifts from vanity, self-centeredness into a playful overconfidence that he gets to use in a very adorable way, childishly hoping to impress the FL with its boldness. Lee Young Joon is a many-sided character and despite the arrogance that he displays in various circumstances, he remains a very likeable character from the beginning till the end. Not for a second have I hated him or considered him despicable in any way.
The relationship between the main leads is also complex and multi-faceted. They have overall a very healthy connection and the topics chosen to showcase how one learns to overcome the difficulties of being in a relationship are right on point. Compromising, quick forgiveness to avoid extending conflicts indefinitely, putting your partner's need above yours, sacrificing your own desires, being considerate of your partner's feelings - these are all very well presented and even those that have a long experience in dating could learn a thing of two from this drama.
On the other hand, everything that did not involve the main leads was extremely nonsensical, annoying, unfunny and straight up boring. The various secondary office romances were just not interesting and felt much more of a filler than in any other drama I previously watched. Apart from one endearing character (Yang Cheol), I wanted to skip basically every scene involving these characters. The writing was so different from the one regarding ML+FL pairing that it always felt that one writer (a good one) was tasked to write the main leads story, and another writer (an unskilled one) had to handle everything else.
Lastly, even if "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim" is often compared to "Business Proposal" or "The Secret Life of My Secretary", I find these three dramas quite different from each other (despite them having common elements and even identical scenes). "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim" focuses on complex relationship development, while "Business Proposal" and "The Secret Life of My Secretary" gravitate around the idea of a double identity. They're all lightweight dramas, without any substantial plot and all three have a cold-hearted boss as ML with more or less a childhood trauma, but each of them has its own unique charm. "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim" probably has the deepest meaning, "Business Proposal" has the most likeable ML and "The Secret Life of My Secretary" the most memorable side-character (one can never forget the legendary "Veronica Park speaking").
